Appearance:
In its basal form, an Arachne is no different from the other spider based Arachnae, having a large thorax and eight large spider legs protruding, four on each side of their bodies and an upper body of a beautiful woman, often buxom but can also be quite petite in form. They do not have a set species of spider they can take the form of, instead they can be of any race of arachnid but will always be upwards of twice the size of a normal example of the species.
They dress themselves in various links of ornate fabrics, wrapping their legs in the brightest coloured and most luxurious of examples. Their human forms though, will have only the barest of coverings that will more commonly leave little room for the imagination of their bountiful forms.
When in human form, they will lose their spider like back side and will dress themselves scantily as in this form they will most often be breeding. From their backs, their eight legs will still extrude, though will now be capable of being retracted into their body allowing for the barest form of secrecy.

Description:
Arachne, a woman from many thousands of years prior to any cataloguing, was believed to have been challenged by a goddess (whose name has gone forgotten to the annals of history) to a sewing competition. After examining the womans work, the goddess became enraged and cursed the woman, turning her into the first Arachne, telling her that if she wished to sew like a spider, she may as well become one.
Some years later, Arachne in a bout of intense ethos malnourishment, pushed down a man and forcefully had intercourse with him. After the fact realizing that the entire time she'd been mating the man she had returned to her human form, though now with many spider appendages coming from her back as well as still having fangs and the ability to produce silk from a small spinneret that had replaced her clitoris. In stimulating it, she was able to bring herself orgasmic pleasure as well as produce various forms of silk.
After discovering she could swap between human and monster form, the original Arachne realized she didn't need to be relegated to the wilds and attempted to return to a sense of normalcy within the human world. But, as all tales go, the goddess who cursed her saw this as sickening and sent a legion of knights to expel her once and for all under the guise that she was collecting men, raping them, and then killing them.
This ultimately led to Arachne discovering she was capable of tearing a hole in any fabric she produced with her silk that would lead into an empty realm, a land filled with darkness, light, and insectoid creatures, but most importantly, a realm where no deities could interfere and she could live peacefully.
She ran into this realm and simply sewed the fabric shut, thus saving her from the hordes of knights sent for her life. Since then, she had gained a vindictive and dangerous personality, growing resentful to the goddess who locked her in this realm, she vowed to have her revenge. But she couldn't do it herself, she required assistance, she required pawns. So, she would travel her realm, leaving in her wake a trail of fabric and webs, tearing holes every now and then to pluck from humanity men whom she would drag and have inseminate herself. After which she learnt she was capable of giving birth to any species of arachnae she wished. And thus, the arachnae species of monster was born.
In reality though, at least, in the modern day, Arachne has a relatively amicable temperament, preferring not to fight and has a sense of childish glee when finding something cute or interesting. The true danger she poses though is in her sudden bouts of anger and vindictive planning that often lead her to trapping her entire domicile with potentially life-threatening traps in the efforts of protecting herself from the long dead order of knights hunting her.
It is unclear if the Arachne alive today is the same Arachne as had existed many thousands of years ago. There have been many reports of similar women around all of Minas, many having different appearances, smaller frames, larger frames, tarantulas, black widows. Whether this is simply another factor to an Arachne's ability or if there are truly multiple existences is unclear.
Arachne are also called the Mother of spiders due to their capability of birthing any species of arachnae, including a unique race known as the Queen Arachnae. Though quite similar, these Queen Arachne become something of Arachne's royal guard and are her most loyal subject and will often join her when having sex with a man.
Though they are infertile due to a specialized pheromone Arachne secretes. If separated from her for a prolonged period of time it is presumed that the Queen Arachnae will somehow metamorphosize into a new Arachne, though as mentioned earlier, it is still unclear if there is a singular, multiformal Arachne or multiple, so this is purely conjecture.
Intelligence wise, Arachne and her daughters are a rung above the wild species found throughout Minas. They have settlements, family systems and even religious beliefs. All mostly revolving around Arachne, but religion, nonetheless.

Authors Note:
I was dragged into the Web between Realms once several months ago by Arachne herself. Apparently, she'd found a copy of the first volume of my Almanac and found it so curious that she wished to have a chat with me. Inevitably though, this ended in Arachne finding herself insatiably horny and we had intercourse. Her Queen's later arriving to join in before I was sent back to my tavern room where my assistant was sleeping. I can't help but feel I now have supported the growth of her kingdom as she said she couldn't wait to see what my 'cum would make.'
Is it possible that it isn't Arachne herself that decides the race of her daughters, but the man's semen?
