In the plains of Garlen stood a town called Holstead. A quiet town, not mighty or majestic, nor particularly notable in any way. Still, it was a good place to raise a family and the farmland surrounding the town made it a peaceful place with a mountain range surrounding the town in the distance.
In the outskirts of Holstead, stood a small family home. In that home was a young boy with the name of Lycus Morningstar. A bright young man, but with a deadly secret; in a continent full of technology, he was gifted with magic.
Why was that a deadly secret? Because magic was forbidden in the continent of Paragon. Across the Ocean, the continent called Magnus was filled with many practitioners of the mystic arts called Magi and they've been at war with us Paraion's, the citizen's of Paragon, for millennia.
Lycus had an ambitious spirit, he wanted to be the one to untie the world under one banner, or at the very least, create peace between the two countries. For a 17 year old boy, such a thing was impossible, but he had a goal.
That goal is what was driving him forward. Lycus's days consisted of attending school in the mornings, working at a garage fixing machines on the afternoon, and after getting home in the evening, practicing the mystic arts until the early hours of the morning. He couldn't do much with magic, but he practiced all he could regardless.
Manipulating fire to moving earth into little clay sculptures he was slowing growing his power, trying to understand the laws and rules of magic.
With no one being able to teach Lycus; The world of magic that he wanted to learn about was all but a distant dream. Although his magic was limited, his knowledge of mechanics was vast, as he had trained as a mechanic since he was eight years old. Everything from appliances to weapons of war, he knew how to fabricate all kinds of machines.
His mother was the same way, at least on the mechanic side. Except she was even better than him at fabrication, making parts and pieces of metal look like a work of art after her hands got finished tinkering with them. When he turned 16 she had built Lycus his own workshop right next to hers, so that he could have private space to work and invent.
What his mother didn't know is that he was building a fully functioning war mech suit. Fully flight capable, guns, missiles, and targeting systems with a plasma core running the whole thing. This wonderful piece of machinery is what is going to take him all across the world.
