Chapter 2 - Creation

I was looking out the window daydreaming of traveling the world. The magic I could learn, the places I could see, the people I could meet. My mind shifted to the preparations I'm making to achieve that dream. Almost everything was in place. The money I needed was already saved, my bags are all but packed, and my mech suit still needs...

"Mr.Morningstar, if you would get your head out of the clouds you may be able to make an A by the end of the year." said Mrs. Weston "Now why don't you come up and show the rest of the class how to solve for x?" Mrs. Weston said in an annoyed voice. I walked to the chalkboard and quickly solved the equation and sat back down.

Mrs. Weston just sighed, she knew I was a certifiable genius for my age when it came to math and mechanics which is why I never paid attention in this class. It was much too low of a level and was too boring for me to care about. Out of respect for the teacher though my attention was halfway on the class and halfway through planning the rest of my Mech's designs. The exoskeleton and plating was just about finished, the weapons systems were operational but needed installed and fine tuned.

I knew that the better built and streamlined my creation is, the easy my journey would be. That's why I've taken two full years to design this masterpiece. Everything had to be perfect, because if anything broke down on the road, I had no way of stopping to fix it. Although I required it with self repairing functions, I had no idea if they actually worked because I've never tested them. So it's better to be on the safe side and make everything perfect.

Just as I finished that thought, the end of school bell rang. I quickly packed my stuff up in my messenger bag as I could hear Mrs. Weston rattling off the homework assignments for the weekend. I didn't pay too much attention to it, just enough to find out what we were suppose to do. I left as soon as possible almost running out the door because I wanted to get back to my workshop. The place I felt most at home.
