Exiting the building, Ginger felt a mixture of confusion and anger towards Remi's decision. He couldn't understand why Remi had rejected the help offered to them.
"Why did you reject her offer?" Ginger demanded, his voice tinged with anger. "Why have you been so indifferent today, not even considering my opinion? Ever since you took that second shot, you've been shutting me out!"
Remi began, "I'm sorry, Ginger, it's just-"
"Just what? It's like you're not telling me something," Ginger interjected, his voice filled with anger. "It's like you didn't trust me at all. It's like my opinion is just nothing but a gust of wind to you!"
Remi opened his mouth to respond, but Ginger turned away abruptly, walking off in frustration. Left with no clear destination in mind, Ginger found solace on a nearby beach. The sound of crashing waves and the gentle breeze offered a momentary escape from their troubles.
As Ginger tried to calm his mind, he couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal. Remi had always been his confidant, the one person he trusted implicitly. He had shared all his secrets, including his hidden power, with Remi. But now, Remi had kept important information from him, leaving Ginger feeling isolated and deceived.
"I trusted him with everything... and he didn't trust me enough to share the truth," Ginger thought, seething with frustration. He felt foolish for putting so much faith in his brother and for blindly following his lead.
Lost in his thoughts, Ginger was startled when Remi appeared beside him, taking a seat.
"I'm sorry, Ginger," he replied earnestly. "I didn't mean to dismiss your thoughts and feelings. It's just... I've been keeping something from you, something I thought would protect you."
Confusion flickered across Ginger's face as he listened intently. "Protect me? What do you mean?"
Remi hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I didn't want to burden you further, especially after what happened at the mall. You've been injured twice now because of me, because I kept giving you everything i knew and every time I telled you something you always got injured in the end,so I thought keeping you in the dark would prevent more harm from coming your way."
Ginger's anger began to wane, replaced by a dawning realization. "So, you've been trying to protect me by not telling me everything? Even if it meant distancing ourselves?"
Remi nodded, remorse visible in his eyes. "Yes, Ginger. I didn't handle it the best way, and for that, I apologize. But please understand, my intention was always to keep you safe. I didn't want you to get hurt again." with Remi finally expressing his apologies for not revealing everything earlier. He believed it was for the best, but he now understood the pain it had caused Ginger. "Ginger. I didn't handle it the best way, and for that, I apologize. But please understand, my intention was always to keep you safe. I didn't want you to get hurt again."
Ginger's expression softened, and he placed a hand on Remi's shoulder. "I appreciate your concern, Remi. I didn't fully understand the weight of your decision. We're in a dangerous situation, and I acted childishly. I'm sorry too." Realizing that secrets were a part of everyone's lives, Ginger gradually let go of his anger and frustration. He understood that there were things that couldn't be openly discussed, especially in their line of work.
Remi smiled, a sense of relief washing over him. With their bond reaffirmed, Ginger and Remi began to brainstorm their next move, discussing possible plans and weighing the risks. They knew that their journey was far from over, but with their renewed trust and determination, they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
