Chapter 5 - End of a burdened day.

Mom and I,took seat on the L-shaped sectional couch, placed in some what middle of the hallway, with fine cushioning of leather. My father sat opposite to us, on his usual spot, his white wing chair, the arms of which were broad and back cushioning was so perfectly done that one can sleep while sitting on it.

Father began loosening the cuffs and collars of his plain white shirt and scars of knife were visible on his forearm. My heart was beating at a very atypical velocity.

Then he finally began to speak, "Robecco Costello would be staying at our apartment, during his visit to Paris for the Christmas Eve, with his wife Dela and son Franco, because of some security reasons."

He did not spoke further as if it wasn't necessary for us to know the reason.

"What security reasons?" words left my mouth even before I could realise.

Father gave me his usual, quick and baleful glare. And soon I regretted my silly self. He turned to mom and said, "Robecco is getting death threats from his old enemy, alpha of California,Jacob Thomson. He even knows about Robecco's visit to Paris. He can't stay at a hotel, make good preparations for their stay, Lynda, especially for his Dela,as she is a lady with great class."

"of course,Clark.I will take good care of it."replied mom.

"Well,I'll be leaving then."father said, leaving the chair.

Mom never asks him about his whereabouts. She barely knows where he goes, when he returns. But she never let goes of whatever father commands.

Once she, forgot to accomplish the task she was asked to do. That day she was beaten until her whole body was swollen and the red marks of flogger were visible for weeks.I was a small kid then,Sawyer took me to my room, understanding the situation. I was too young to understand the circumstances yet I cried whole night, feeling lonely and helpless.

I have never liked being alone my entire life. But my life has always been full of isolation and ennui. Not everything you ask from life is granted by it.

My father left the house and my mom went to her room and my sole partner solitude hugged me again.

I went upstairs to my room.Took a long shower trying to forget the heavy day, and relaxing every nerve on my body.I did not wanted to talk to anyone neither was I hungry.I went to bed and soon sleep caught me.

Next day I woke with Cindy's message, asking me about yesterday's events. I asked her to meet me at our usual meeting spot that is Cafe Macchiato and went for a quick shower.

I dressed up in a green knitted Shirt with a brown overcoat reaching my knees and wore a dark blue pair of jeans. My hairs were luckily good today and I bothered not to tie them.

I left for Cafe Macchiato, followed by Sawyer.I was ten minutes before the decided time,so Cindy was not there yet. I waited for her in a vacant booth Sawyer stood outside the cafe keeping an eye on everyone.
