Chapter 1 - There has been an accident

"What in the hell is wrong with you? You are the reason why everything is wrong. You don't think of the consequences of your actions before you act." He said to her as he slams his hand onto the glass table in front of him.

Clang!

The table broke into smitterings and he had deep cuts in the process. His blood began to flow endlessly, giving Hera the scare of her life. Raising his bleeding hands up, he said "Here is your proof. Nothing good happens when you are around. Hera, from this day, I shall seize to be your father. All ties between us is broken. You shall leave this household, never to return. Whatever you become and whoever you turn out to be is your cup of tea". His blood continues to flow ceaselessly, but he paid it no attention. Pushing the red button on his side stool, his voice sounded over the amplified public address system of the estate, covering several hundred hectares of land "Let it be known and documented in the records, that I, Julius Meduka Dumoski have cut all ties with my daughter Hera. She has been expelled from this empire, never to return. She is to hold no name or title that suggests any relationship with our empire".

As though a child that has been flogged in public, Hera began to cry, as she turns to take another look at her father, who had a cold grim in his pale eyes. She thought of what to say, as her kneels caved in, but her voice betrayed her. Hera was worried seeing her beloved father bleeding profusely without paying attention to his wounds. He was all she had left, after a car accident claimed the lives of her brothers and their mother five years ago.

Helen was on her way home with her sons when she got a call that Hera was involved in a fight at school. Troubled, she turned the car around to quickly rush over to the school, not paying attention to the flowing traffic. The traffic light turned red, but Helen never noticed, as she continued on, oblivious to the risk lurking around the corner.

Bang!

Just as she was in the center of the crossroads, a truck hit her fast moving Camero, forcing the car to summersault several times, before landing on its head. Helen died on the spot, alongside her 13 year old son, Hector. Covered in blood, Emeric was gasping for air, as the truck driver rushed towards the car and begins to attempt forcing the door open. "Stay with me son!" He screams, as he pulls a pen knife from his pocket and cuts the seat belt, then carefully pulls the gasping boy out of the shattered window. He then reaches for his phone and dialled a number.

Soon, an ambulance pulls over at the accident scene and paramedics arrived to attend to the boy. "His pulse is faint" one of the paramedics said, as he administers first aid to him. He was lifted onto the stretcher, and wheeled into the ambulance.

Ring! ring!!

Julius pulled out his phone from his side pocket as a smile appears across his face. "Who's daddy's favourite?" He said, as he places the phone against his left ear. But to his surprise, the person on the other end of the phone was not his son, but a complete stranger, who said in a fine voice "Hello! Sir. Please kindly make your way to the central hospital. There has been an accident".
