Chapter 2 - Let's try to find them

The passage of the central hospital was long and brightly lit. Nurses could be seen walking hurriedly in several directions and a voice over the speakers of the hallway could be heard calling specialists' attention to various patients' needs. It didn't take long before a Mercedes-Benz pulled up outside and a man rushed into the hospital's reception screaming at the top of his voice: "Emeric!!! Helen!!!! Where is my family?!!!!!" The security team of the hospital made attempts to block his path, but he beat them smoothly as he storms into the hospital, opening doors of ward rooms in not particularly orderly manner. He was confused.

"Julius Dumoski" a lady's voice called from behind him, and he hurriedly turns around to see who it was. Julius was sure he knows this lady. However, everything about her just seemed to have escaped his mind this time. He therefore took a strange, cold look at her. At this point, the woman panicked, but couldn't dwell on her feelings for long, as she realised something was wrong with him. "Julius! No! no no! Julius!" She called loudly, as she placed her hands on his shoulders. Her loud calls got the attention of two nurses, who rushed towards them and helped him to a seat.

In the ER, a specialist was busy attending to a young boy when a series of beeps began to sound from the ECG machine. "We are loosing him", he said, as he reached for the AUD machine. He carefully placed the pads on the boy's chest sending electrical surges into his body. "No pulse!" a nurse said, as the specialist attempts it again several times. The beeping sound continued.

Sigh!

"Time of death is 8:45pm." The specialist said, and he removes the bloody surgical gloves from his hands and heads towards the scrubs. Emeric was gone!

"Sir, are you alright!" A nurse said, as she raised up her left hand, moving three fingers gently left and then right.

"I'm fine! I just want to see my family. Where are they?" Julius replied, as he tries to stand. However, the nurses didn't give him any room to stand. At this point, he looked towards the lady from before and called out her name.

"Katrina, you are here?" The lady was his sister-in-law. The tension and confusion caused by the information he had received; which made him rush over to the hospital, made him blank out, such that he couldn't recognise her earlier.

Katrina and Helen had scheduled to visit a mall that the latter had planned to purchase. Helen had been on her way home, to drop off her boys, and wait for her sister to arrive before they both headed over to the mall.

"I was on my way to your place, but I was running late, so I decided to call Helen to let her know. The person on the other end of the line was not her. I was told she was involved in an accident, so I rushed over here." She couldn't hold back her tears, as she started sobbing. "Have you seen them?" Julius couldn't help but ask, seemingly oblivious to Katrina's emotions. "No, I haven't. I just got here". She replied with a shaky voice.

"Let's try to find them", she said, with a determined look on her face, as she got up and rushed towards the front desk.
