Not too long, the bus finally made it to its destination.
The school building itself had 4 floors, one being underground. The busses were all in the line slowly but steadily dropping off the kids at the school entrance.
Once it was her buses turn, everyone had already got off their seats ready to just walk out. It was not that it was important for them to get to school early, more like they want to meet up with some of their friends before classes start.
Sona was the last again this time, off the bus. Before she left, she handed the bus driver a note.
The bus driver opened the note and it read, "Thank you."
Just these two words can make one's day happy. Being a bus driver is not a job that many would do or could do, the old man been doing it for 10 years after he retired from the military.
Watch kids grow up was just his pastime, being thanked was nothing new but is always nice to hear from time to time.
By now Sona had already walked through the schools, double doors and immediately went to look for a map.
From what she can recall, classes switch rooms every 6 months meaning every semester or two quarters. It was a rotation they do to make some classes fair mainly the electives because they often have different equipment that they have to share.
As she was doing that the people around her started to look at her funny.
"Does anyone know how that person is?"
"Why do I feel like I seen her before..."
"There is no way that you have seen her before me, she must be a transfer student."
"She looks hot"
Although Sona's hearing was stupendously good, she had already muted the sound around the moment she entered the building, it was just too annoying.
Sona located her 4 classes for the day, the school itself was trying something different this year compared to last year. This year classes switch every day, meaning you have 4 classes one day, the nest day your other 4 classes in the entire year instead of one semester 4 classes then take 4 new classes on the next semester.
Her first class was calculus and the classroom is on the top floor on the right-wing of the building.
Because calculus was first-period (as in the time of class) for her, people in her class were already labeled themselves as "Brain-dead" because its the first class for them, early in the morning, and their brain is not awake.
Not wanting to do math many people sleep in the class which would later on bit them in the back increase their workload stressing the living crap out of them.
Sona entered the classroom and as she did a school bell rang.
Inside the classroom, there were already a few people, but they had their heads down taking a nap before class starts.
She swept by without anyone noticing her and looked at the seating charts. Seeing that her named was not on the chart, she picked an empty seat in the back not belonging to anyone.
It was understandable for her not to have a seat, she disappeared for months who knew she would come back.
Shortly after she sat down people started to enter the classroom, classes were starting. Strangely enough, people haven't noticed her yet.
Five minutes after the bell rang, the teacher walked in. He was a young man in his early thirty wearing a classic white dress shirt and blue jeans.
"Good morning class, hows everyone's weekend been?"
"Good... meh...decent," the majority of the class replied not including Sona.
"I'm going to start taking attendance, reply 'Here' when I call your name," Mr. Clark said as he picked up his clipboard off his desk at the front and a pen. "Adam..."
"Here"
"Ahri..."
...
"Racheal"
"Here"
"Sonia Buvelle... shes not he..."
"Here..."
Mr. Clack paused. There was a moment of silence in the entire classroom which included other students. Mr. Clark was just about the mark Sona's name absent until a voice cut him off which made him pause what he was doing and looked up away from his clipboard to find the owner of the voice.
Besides him, everyone else in the classroom felt something was off. Sonia who had a bad reputation of breaking rules and skipping class was well known although originally she was not like that but still she been gone for so long many people though she dropped out so how is she in class there was no way right?
"Sonia Buvelle..." Mr. Clark read out Sona's name again.
"I'm present," Sona replied back.
It was at this moment people finally noticed a nicely dressed girl sitting in the back corner of the classroom.
Originally people thought it was just some joke a girl would do pretending to be Sonia just to get attention or make a joke to the class. The reason why they took it seriously now was because Sona's voice was just too soothing to be any other girl in the class.
Although they were surprised Sona was in class, they were more shocked how good she looked with her current attire because back then she would normally wear black or something dull like.
Sona stood up and had several prices of paper that she took from the school bag. She then walked toward Mr. Clark ignoring the gawking gazes of her fellow classmates.
The teacher was as perfectional as he could be and waited to see what she had to give him.
Sona handed the papers over, the majority of them were the doctor's notes about her residing in the hospital for several months. and the other was Sona's own personal note and it read:
--
Good morning Mr. Clark,
Apologies about my absences this year and my horrendous behavior, just a lot of things been happening and me getting into an accent which made me go to the hospital for quite some time. Besides that, I'm doing much better now and I self-studied your class during my time at the hospital so I should be all caught up with the current material for class. My throat has still been uncomfortable so I prefer not to speak, hope you understand. So the majority of the time I will be writing in my drawing notebook if I want to speak.
And please address me as Sona
My apologies for the inconvenience, Sonia

After reading the contents, Mr. Clark was satisfied with the mannerism the student handed her situation as well as apologizing for her past mistakes.
"Very well, Sona you can sit anywhere that is empty, prefer for you to sit with your classmates but if you want to sit in the back you can. We will be taking notes shortly after I complete the rest of the attendance, and ill discuss with you about grades when we have a chance, maybe after school today if you have time."
Sona took out her drawing notebook and wrote, "Thank you."
