Chapter 66 - Formidable Enemies

"Amaya! Go now!" Ace shouted. He knew well about Amaya's ability to create gates.

Wasting no time, Amaya lifted the soulless Emi and quickly jumped through the portal that appeared. it vanished once they were through and gone from the Dark Mages hide-out.

Now, it was only Ace who was left to face both Aika and Isla. It was going to be a troublesome fight. Ace had no intention to hold back, doing so could pose risk to the outcome. He had a taste of Isla power from just a 1v1, she was practically unkillable. Now that there was someone on her side, Ace would need to fight extra hard.

Aika ran fast towards her opponent, skillfully slashing with her blades.

Chink! Chink!

Ace weaved his sword, side to side , blocking each of these attacks, but it wasn't easy. It required a lot of focus. Whoever this Red-haired opponent really was, there was no doubt that they were a sword master.

Ace continued to move his weapon to his enemies slashes. The more he blocked, the more blazing sparks fluttered around.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

"So strong! I think I like you!" Aika shouted.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

"Sorry, you are not my type of woman. But I give you credit for your impressive way with blades." Ace took a step back, putting distance between them.

Tmp.

'She's able to clearly see my attacks and she's fast enough to need my full attention. Is that you, Leona?'

"I can see it clearly on your face, you're supried by her skill." said Isla.

"Indeed, I am. It would be a lie to say she was a small deal. If it were up to skill, alone, she might just rival any of the other protectors. I wonder, though, why aren't helping her?"

Isla shook her had and shrugged.

"I'm not as strong as my other body. I'll just provde Aika healing if you do happen to wound her."

It was a big issue. Since it would take over 100, death for isla to finnally die, she would be able to heal Aika endlessly. It was a fact that Isla needed to die first, but it wasn't going ot happen anythime soon. It would be a stale-mate. If things kept on going as they were now, Ace would eventually find himself at the losing end. Still there was still lots of time before that would happen.

Ace held his sword staright as soothing, golden light surounded him.

"Combined Attack. Combined Health. Imunity. Perfection."

His mere presence turned abnormal, giving the extreme aura of death, itself. For some reason, Aika gave off the same kind og presence as well.

The abiity to copy any buffs used in the area, this was a kind of skill that wa sunuiqe to Leona, the protector who shoul be long dead. Aika showed too many similarities. The skills, the way she handled a sword and her weapons, they were all traits of Leona.

'I know leona would've never Joined the dark mages. I watched Leon die in my arms, this person isn't her. They are no more than an imposter.'

Ace took a stance, looking his oponent in the eyes.

"Whoever you are, you're certaintly formidible."

"Thank you. You're so kind, giving an enemy your praise."

"On gaurd!" Ace shouted, tightening his grip on his blade and spritning forward.

One slash downwards, Aika dodged and countered with a barage of swings.

Slash! Slahs! Sash! Chink! Ting! Ting!

"Defense Push! 100%."

Swoosh!

A devstating explosion of wind flew out form Ace's body, switly moving at ripping speeds. Isla's body tore into fleshy shreds while Aika held her ground with ease.

While the wind's agressivness lowered, Isl'as body stitched itself back together and Aika was swift to tush her oponentonce more.

She thrusted both her blades forward.

Clink!

Instead of being stabbed into Ace's organs, the swords bounced off of him, making Aika stumble back. By the time she caught her balnce, a beam of light was launched towrds her. She didn't run, she didn't even try to dodge. She stood with confidence as she slashed the center of the beam.

Slassshhhh!!!!!!!!

She stuggled for a couple seconds, before she sent the beam back at Ace.

Blast!

His chest was impacted but his stance and HP remained unfazed.

"Let's step this up." Isla shouted from the side-lines.

A large shadow covered the ground as dark beings slowly stood up. They were human-shaped but lacked any kind of facial features, and they lacked the ability to think as well. Their bodies morphed and twisted until changes came. Some decided to take the forms of snakes, while others became lions and slimes.

'Corupted Spirits. I'll lose my humanity if they get a tatse of my blood. I'll tread carfully.'

Aika advanced forward, leading each of the shadow's behind her. Ace stood calmly, but stayed cautious.

___________

Amaya laid the soulless Emi onto the bed. Unsure about how to treat Emi' condition, Amaya'smind got caught up in brainstorming.

The only one who had the answer was that guy 'Silas Cross'

And he definitely doesn't intend on returning Emi back to normal, unless Amaya decides to join their cause. Making that decision was a hard one because if she joined, she would be forced to kill innocent people to prove her loyalty to the organization.

But, it seemed like the only way. She had to find Silas Cross again. Amaya finally came to a conclusion. It's the only way to save Emi.

Still, she had to find someone to go assist Ace.

'Does he really even need the help?'

He was the same guy who wiped out the Ice queen with a single blow. If the on fighting, it's pretty much a fact that he would win, considering his power.

Then there was the fate of Jean, was she really killed by the Dark mages? Or did she somehow survive. Amaya had to know.

Mary voiced a question about the fox-girl who was in a soulless-like state.

"That girl. Is she sick?"

Amaya had got so caught up in the moment that she forgot Mary was here too. Amaya threw on the personality of the 'Saphire' Indentity.

"Something among those lines. I hope it's not too much to ask, but can you watch her for a bit please."

"I'm not sure what the reason is, but I'll watch her."

"Thank you. I'll be sure to make it up to you once I come back. Until then, please take care of her."
