Continuation of Laurence's POV:
Silas picked Toru out of my arms as we walked towards his study and held him close as Toru slept softly. "Alright... he should be waiting for us... and we need to tell him about the auction anyways," he told me and smiled. "We'll clean him up afterwards." Inside his study, Lyle had managed to get together the butler he was talking about as well as Charles and Pierre. Silas smiled as he lead me inside then shut the door. "Lyle," he purred happily and walked up to him then sat Toru's little form down on his desk. "Thank you for helping me out."
"No problem.... So is that a fox?" Lyle asked and stood up, walking over and looked his frame over. "He looks like Inari's yokai," he mumbled.
"Yeah, he's Inari's kitsune specifically," Silas told him softly. "He was being sold on a black market auction tonight, but Laurence and I busted it up and released all the missing werewolves and arrested the ones participating. We found him in the back where they had hid him and chained him up inside a cage to keep him there."
"Oh yeah, I bet you Rei Suoh would know." Lyle told us. "Where to find his garden and shrine. Suoh should be very familiar with the gods of his lands. I already gave him a call that you was visiting and he said he would set up a place for you to stay in safety." Silas nodded.
"Thanks for that," he purred then looked at Toru. "He's going to be happy to know that he's going home. I don't think he's been outside his god's shrine before," he told Lyle softly. "He's taken a liking to Laurence rather quickly though, staying close to him and whatnot. It's a shame that something like him was chained up. He's gotten into a bad shape... and his bones were broken when we got him, but Laurence healed him." Silas smiled and looked at me. "He's really been responsible with him since we found him. I'm proud of him. He even made the decision to take Toru home sooner instead of trying to keep him longer like I was going to let him do. He's so mature for only being a few days old. He'll make a great vampire," he purred then looked at Lyle. "I might get him a pet when we get home though since how he's been so good with Toru. What do you think?"
"Quit bragging about Laurence, I've done stuff too you should be proud of! I've found my soul mate. How's that? Ha. Eat that Laurence!" Charles growled with jealousy. I held in a laugh. Silas looked towards Charles and laughed.
"I'm proud of you too Charles," he said happily. "I'm taking you and Pierre with me instead of leaving you at home this time, aren't I? I'd be so much prouder of you too if you quit fighting Laurence's presence here." He walked over to Charles and kissed his cheek. "You'll love going to Japan. It'll be a great vacation for you and Pierre, and I'll let you two run off and go on dates and whatnot with an allowance to spend how you like while I get the little fox yokai home." Toru stirred on the desk then opened his eyes sleepily, picking his head up then perked his ears up as he saw everyone and yelped, sitting up rather quickly as he brought his tail close to him. He looked around and then spotted me before he let out a whine, looking shy. I smiled and walked up, scooping him up into my arms.
"I want a pet if he gets one," Charles whispered to Silas. Silas nodded.
"Alright, you can have a pet too if you stop whining and getting so jealous of him." He smiled at Charles then rubbed his cheek. Toru whined and then moved closer to me, curling up in my arms.
"Where are we?" He whispered to me, sounding a little scared.
"We're in my maker's castle. You ready for your bath?" I teased sweetly.
"I want a tiger," Charles told him firmly. "White, a white tiger with black stripes. I want it to be female so it can bare children and I'll get it a mate that'll have orange and black stripes. Then I want a comb for it so I comb it's hair and train it with meat to eat Laurence." Silas frowned a little.
"We'll... see," he whispered. "You're not training it to eat Laurence though," he told him firmly then pulled away from Charles. Toru watched them then growled at Charles protectively, laying his ears back flat against his head. I rubbed Toru's head and laughed.
"We're taking you home," I whispered sweetly to Toru.
"Home?" Toru tensed up then looked at me, his ears perked up again. He started to wag his tail a little before he licked my cheek happily. "I get to see Inari!" He laughed happily. "Thank you so much!" He licked my neck and snuggled up to me. "Inari~ Inari~" He whispered sweetly under his breath. "My loving master~ I'm coming home~"
"It might take a few days," I warned.
"I still get to go home! I didn't think I would ever see my garden again!" He told me and looked up at me, his eyes full of admiration and love for me. "You've made it possible... and you rescued me!" He started to lick my cheek quickly, his tail wagging.
"Now let's go give you a bath," I suggested and carried him upstairs and towards my bedroom to give him a bath in my bathroom. When I reached the bedroom I took him into the bathroom and sat him down on a rug. I started to run the water, keeping it mild for him and made sure to add bubbles in the water. He watched me eagerly and snuck up to the bathtub, standing up on his hind legs and rested his front paws on the edge as he looked down into it. He quickly jumped in before it was full and sat down in the water, dunking his head under it then came back up and sneezed. He looked up towards me then got under the faucet and watched as the water ran over his fur, starting to get some of the dirt out of his fur. He looked pleased as his fur started to become starlight white where the water was touching it, and I could faintly start seeing gold markings on his fur that had been covered up by the dirt. I started to help rub the dirt out of his fur, using soap to help out. He seemed to like it and leaned his small body into my hand, closing his eyes in pleasure till he led me to his ears, flicking them a little as he rubbed into my hand, his fur starting to feel soft like a cloud and addictive to the touch rather than gritty. I smiled and changed out the water a few times before we got his fur cleaned off. "I bet you want a bath in your other form," I suggested. "I can let you borrow some of my clothes, straight through that closet door. I'll wait in my bedroom for you." He watched me and nodded, waiting till I let the room. I heard the shower start to run after a few minutes, taking me up on my offer.
He came out rather fast and had on a loose shirt and a pair of sweats. He smiled at me as he rubbed his white fox ears still transformed and then played with his starlight looking hair as he walked up. "Thank you for this," he told me and then looked around my room curiously. "I hope I'm not a bother," he mumbled and looked back to me, his golden eyes focusing on mine.
"Would you like to sleep now in your room?" I asked. He gave me a considering look, looking like he wanted to tell me no, but he nodded.
"Yes," he said softly then looked away from me. "That'd be nice."
"Or would you like to stay in here if that's where you feel safest at?" I asked and smiled. "You have to let me sleep through the day though." He blushed and laid his ears back in slight embarrassment.
"Y-you wouldn't mind?"
"No, of course not. If you stay in here I'll be protected from the demon throughout the day as well." I purred. He blushed and nodded, crawling into the bed carefully and then up to a pillow. He laid down and curled up, his tail curling around his body slightly as he looked towards me.
"Then I'll stay in here," he told me softly, keeping his ears back against his head.
"Thanks for that by the way. I'm really happy you chased him away."
"He's evil," he growled under his breath. "I couldn't let him touch you. I could smell the murderous rage all over him. He wants your death... and he's going to do it himself."
"He'll never kill me if I can see it coming or if I have someone as good as you to scare him away," I mumbled. He nodded and then rubbed his head against the pillow.
"Yes, but... I'm not going to be with you much longer," he mumbled to me. "I won't be here to chase him away after I'm back in the shrine with my master. You'll be fending for yourself."
"I thought about visiting you ever so often if your master lets me." I told him.
"He shouldn't mind. He likes it when people visit the shrine," he told me and smiled. "He'd let you see him though because of this kind favor you're doing for him of returning me. He doesn't reveal himself to most people, but he'll favor you and talk with you when you come by the shrine. He'd let you see me."
"That's great. I wouldn't want to never see you again," I purred. He smiled at me.
"That's not going to happen. He'd let you see me when you want... but he would mind if you took me out of the shrine. He doesn't like it unless he's approved it, and it's usually for us to go give messages to people or bestow blessings. I'm one of the younger ones in his shrine. There are some in there that are thousands of years old," he told me and laughed. "His favorite is his oldest- his very first kitsune that joined him. It's really pretty in the shrine too... and we're honored very highly by him. He's like a father to me, but he's more my master than my father." He smiled and hugged the pillow.
"Well you'll see him soon," I promised sweetly. He nodded.
"Mhmm... I bet he's looking for me," he mumbled under his breath. "Inari wouldn't let me go missing like this for too long. He loves us." He yawned softly and then gave me a tired smile before he closed his eyes and started to fall asleep.
~Time Skip~
"We're here," Silas said as I felt the plane land. He smirked and got off the couch then looked towards Charles and Pierre, pulling out his wallet then gave Charles some money. "Have fun you too. Call me when you're done and you're ready to come back with us to Rei's castle. We're staying with him while we're searching. Laurence, Rei sent me a few addresses already for us to go search tonight to see if Toru recognizes any of the places, and I got our little group two cars. Charles, you get the red convertible." He gave Charles some keys and smirked. "Don't scratch it. It's rather pretty." He walked over to me and Toru then grabbed Toru's hand, pulling him to his feet. Toru yelped and stumbled into a standing position as he laid his ears back then looked towards one of the windows curiously.
"It's kinda... not like I imagined the rest of Japan to look like."
"Well, we are in Tokyo," Silas purred to him. "Come on, we're going to go check out these Inari shrines and try to find yours tonight. I want to return you as quickly as possible, no offence. I don't want your master to get too upset."
"Yeah plus we have a limited time," I explained. "We're vampires after all and can only handle the night. We're on a strict schedule."
"Thanks Silas," Charles purred. Silas nodded.
"Yeah, go enjoy yourself kiddos. You've earned it," he purred to them then looked at me. "Let's get this over with," he whispered to me, giving me a slightly worried look. He pulled me to my feet and started to take me to the doors of the airplane, ditching the two love birds behind. "I don't want to make this anymore painful for you than it has to be." He took me to a car then put me in the passenger seat and slipped Toru into the back by himself then got into the driver's seat and started to drive us away from the private landing. Toru looked out the windows in wonder, watching as we drove down the streets of Tokyo, his eyes lit up in excitement. This was going to be it.... Possibly one of the final times I'd have him around personally without a god hovering over me. I watched him and smiled. I'm glad I can take him home finally. He needs to be there with his god.
After driving around for a bit and visiting some shrines (all of them a negative from Toru so far), we parked by some stairs leading up to one of the last two shrines on the list. Toru's eyes lit up in recognition as he looked at the stairs and he was quickly out of the car, running towards the steps. Silas raised an eyebrow then looked at me. "Want to take him by yourself or want me to go with you? It looks like this one is his home. He was quick to get out."
"Let's go together," I told him and got out, following Toru as fast as I could. "Wait for us!" I begged. He stopped at the top and looked down at me, his ears flicking as he held himself back. Silas was quick to my side and helped me up the stairs, getting me up to him. I was instantly greeted by a beautiful sight. Out of all the shrines, this was the grandest we've been to today. There were cherry trees blossoming everywhere, the shrine rather large with a wrap around porch. There was a statue of a white fox looking towards the stairs in the center of the path, halfway between the shrine and halfway to the stairs on the stone pathway, overlooking it protectively. Toru looked towards me and then at the shrine before he gathered his composure quickly and started to lead us to it. Before he even reached it, the door opened and a woman stepped out, dressed in a beautiful silk kimono, but she didn't have fox ears and a tail like Toru. She must be able to hide them.... She looked at Toru and smiled softly.
"Ritoru," she greeted, her eyes full of love and wisdom. Toru smiled hugely at her and ran up, stopping right in front of her.
"I'm home," he said quickly, looking excited. She laughed at him and started to rub his head.
"I can see that... and you brought some friends. I see that they've returned you?" Toru nodded towards her.
"They found me and rescued me from my kidnappers," he told her softly.
"Friends then," she whispered back and eyed us down. "The master will see you," she called out and started to lead us inside. "Right this way. He's waiting." Toru's eyes lit up in excitement and he wagged his tail, bouncing after her. I followed after and smiled softly. He looks excited to be back. When we entered, another female closed the door behind us and looked us over curiously as Toru's friend lead us to a room in the very back then up some stairs and to a great big room. There was a man sitting down, drinking some tea as he looked out the window, overlooking a huge flower garden. He glanced over at us and then smiled fondly towards the woman that brought us up here.
"Thank you for bringing them. Go help your sisters outside will you?" She gave him a loving look then bowed before she left quickly. Toru watched her then gave the man an adoring, almost worshipping look. He ran up to him and tackled him into a hug, laughing happily. The man smiled and rubbed his head. "Ritoru," he mumbled and then smiled. "Welcome home. I'm glad you made it. I was getting worried.... You've never been outside the garden yet, and I wasn't sure if you'd be able to find your way back, but it looks like you've gotten some help." He looked towards me then, inspecting me. Toru glanced at me then shifted into his fox form, slipping into the man's lap and nuzzled his hand, wagging his tail as the man started to pet him. "I'm Inari, the rice god," he introduced himself and smiled kindly. "Thank you for bringing him home to us. You're not like the ones that took him, and I'm grateful for that." He gestured for us to sit and rubbed Toru's ears. I sat down with my maker and gave the god a smile.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. This is my maker, Silas Rosario and I'm his fledgling Laurence." I gave him a kind look. He looked pleased with my respect then nodded.
"I know," he told me and then frowned. "You've got a dark presence around you, Laurence. Calix has a hold on you," he mumbled then looked down at Toru.
"Yes, I chased him away for a little bit," Toru told him then flicked his ears. "He's after his soul." Inari frowned and then looked at me.
"Calix is not a good demon to be around," he warned me. "You'll have to be careful.... I will have one of my kitsunes give you a charm to help ward him off, but it won't be able to keep him away indefinitely. I'd love to repay you for bringing Toru back, but I fear that the charm isn't enough," he told me and then frowned, rubbing Toru's head. "Not many would've brought him back like you've done. I can't let this go unrewarded... so I'll let you request a favor from me, and I'll do my best to see it done." Toru perked his ears up in excitement and looked towards me.
"He doesn't normally give out blessings himself," he told me and wagged his tail. "This is a huge honor!"
"Thank you," I purred in happiness. "Anything, even if it's nothing..... it's worth just meeting you and bringing him home." He gave me an approving look.
"You're certainly pure.... Someone I could trust," he whispered then looked at Toru. "Toru, go get your guests some tea, would you?" Toru nodded and scampered off, running down the stairs. Inari watched him then looked at me, studying me. "Listen... it's not everyday that I have someone walk into my shrine and not want something besides just meeting me... and most would expect a reward if they had the honor of returning my kitsune and got to meet me in person. You've exceeded my expectations," he told me and smiled. "He seems like he's done well under your care... and his eyes shine with more knowledge than he had before he left. He was meant to start exploring a little outside the shrine's grounds in a few years with supervision... but I guess it came sooner than I had intended," he told me and then sipped on his tea.
"He's certainly viewed a big chunk of the world on the plane here," I chuckled out softly. "Well.... I do want something.... Really..... All I want is visitation rights to him," I told him bravely. He looked at me and then raised an eyebrow, a small smile on his face.
"That's all you want?" He asked me. "If that's all you want, you can have it, but I was thinking about something a bit more.... You see, he's happier than when he left," he told me and then took another sip of his tea. "I was thinking about letting you keep him for a few hundred years... maybe till you die. He needs to learn about the world, and he'd be safe under your watch. You've proved yourself to me that I can trust you... and if he was to go out into the world under another kitsune's watch... he wouldn't learn as much as he would if he went back with you. He likes you enough... and I will be able to watch him from here to make sure that he is safe too. It'd help keep your demon away, and he'd learn to fight off evils like that. It'd be my way of repaying you for rescuing him... and it's much better than visitation rights... unless..." he looked me in the eyes, "you'd rather not. If that's the case, then he'll stay here and you may visit once a century."
"Once a century?" I asked softly. That's harsh.... Of course he'd be great to have around. "Silas can he come home with us?" I asked and looked at him to make sure he'd allow it before I begged to keep him. Silas looked at me and frowned, debating before he nodded.
"Yes... as long as Toru and Inari are okay with it," he told me and then smiled. Inari held back a smirk and took a sip of his tea.
"I want him to come home then," I told Inari quickly. Inari looked towards me and studied me.
"You'll have to swear to me that he'll be safe with you and well cared for. In my eyes, he's still only a child- even if he is old to you if he was to tell you his age. He's one of my best kitsunes I have too, very promising... so if I'm going to give him to you, I need to know he'll be safe and happy," he told me firmly. "You'll have to make a bond with him too. I don't want him to get out of your sight and you not know if he's in trouble or not. You'll be able to see what he sees if he wants to show you and you'll be able to feel what he feels when it's been completed."
"Okay, I promise you he'll be in safe care with me for as long as I have him." I nodded quickly. "He's going to be spoiled and when you get him back you won't know what to do with him," I giggled playfully. He smiled and then sat his tea down.
"Then I feel okay about letting you keep him," he told me. "I'll have his things packed and ready for you to go in a few hours." Toru walked up in a beautiful black kimono with white flowers designed into it, carrying a tray of two cups of hot Japanese tea. He gave a cute smile and walked up, sitting the tea down on the table. He gave me one and then gave Silas one before he smiled at Inari with a loving look.
"Anything else master?" He asked sweetly. Inari smirked slightly and looked at him.
"Yes, I want you to go get your things together Ritoru. You're going to explore the world for a long time," he told him. Toru's eyes widened and he nodded, looking a little surprised, but he obeyed and started down the stairs again without questioning his master.
"At least when he returns he'll know so much about the world he'll be able to come home on his own," I told Inari. Inari nodded.
"Yes, this will be good for him. He'll do fine with you," he told me and then took a sip of his tea. "He needs to learn to make more friends than those just at the shrine too. Thank you for taking this task for me," he said and smiled. "You may not think of it as a task, but it will be. He's a rather small kitsune, and he'll be able to get into hard to reach places if he's playing around too much and get stuck. I once found him stuck with his head through one of my doors, tore the entire cloth to shreds trying to get free." He laughed. "He's a bit of a people pleaser too if he likes you. He'll try to make you happy."
"Thank you for the task," I purred happily. He nodded and then sat back in his seat.
"I'm sure it'll be fine though. Just make sure that he doesn't get hurt." He smiled then. Toru came back up and paused by the entrance, biting his lower lip before Inari nodded. He raced back in and perked his ears up, giving Inari an adoring look. "Toru, say hello to your guardian," he said, holding back a smirk as Toru's eyes widened big time. Inari gestured towards me and Toru's eyes followed it, staring at me in wonder. "You'll be staying with him, and he'll be a new master for you until it's time for you to come home, so behave for him."
"Isn't it great?" I asked him. "You'll be seeing me every night until you return to Inari." I gave him a sweet look. He blushed and then laid his ears against his head, biting his lower lip.
"Well Ritoru, what do you say?" Inari teased him. "Surely you're not just going to stand there staring at your second master." Toru's face reddened even more as his blush deepened and he fidgeted nervously, getting a laugh from Inari.
"It's okay," I whispered softly to him with an adoring look. He blushed and walked over, sitting down by me.
"So shy but you weren't a few moments ago with him," Inari teased him. Toru blushed and then rubbed his ear.
"I-I wasn't expecting to be placed with him," he told Inari and then looked at me.
"Do you want to be?" I asked. "You can help protect me from my demon." He blushed and then slowly nodded.
"Y-yes," he said and then smiled hugely. "Of course I would~!" He tackled me into a hug, knocking me to the floor. I laughed and hugged him tightly. He laughed and then kissed my cheek, curling up to me. Inari sipped on his tea calmly and then looked at Silas.
"Walk with me," he told him then got to his feet. "I want to show you the garden. You two explore and have fun while I talk with your maker." He started to lead Silas out of the room, leaving the two of us alone. Toru watched him go with an fawning look then turned his attention to me, his pretty golden eyes full of love for me.
"What's he talking with Silas about?" I asked and watched them walking away.
"Probably about god things... and probably to give him some tricks with kitsunes. We can get mischievous sometimes," he told me, giving a playful growl then smirked. "Inari's are more behaved, however, but we can still get too much in a trouble mood."
"Well you'll be good, right?" I asked him. He nodded and gave me a sweet look.
"Yeah, I'll be good," he promised me and then kissed my cheek. "I don't want to upset you or Inari~" He laughed and laid on top of me. "I'll be the best kitsune ever for you~ I promise~" He looked up into my eyes from my chest with a loving look and flicked his cute ears. I looked towards where Inari and Silas left and tried to see what they were discussing with my powers. Inari was showing him the garden, walking among the flowers as he discussed Toru's tendencies to become very loving and protective of his master and was telling him about how to take care of Toru- his favorite foods (rice, tofu, sushi, etc), his habits, and how to effectively scold him if he did something bad. He was essentially teaching Silas how to take care of Toru in case he needed to step in and help me. Toru watched me closely and then nuzzled his head against my chest before he nipped at me and gave a playful growl. I laughed softly and kissed some of his hair, admiring it. He watched me and then kissed my cheek, moving a little closer to me. He gave another playful growl and watched me, hovering over me with a playful look. I tsked towards him.
"Don't get naughty," I teased. He laughed and kissed my cheek again, giving another growl in my ear then nipped at it playfully. I touched his nose and tapped it. "Toru, what did I just tell you?" I asked.
"Don't get naughty," he repeated and then pulled back, looking down into my eyes with a happy look. He smiled innocently and then kissed my forehead then curled up on top of me, nuzzling his head into my chest as he wrapped his arms around my body. I hugged his body and smiled. I took a sip of the tea he brought to me then. He watched me and then glanced around the room before he adjusted himself against me and then touched his silk kimono with a happy look. He laughed and then went to kiss my cheek again but ended up kissing my jawline close to my neck. I tapped his nose again before getting to my feet and looked around. I'm so ready to go to my room in the castle of Suoh... I let a yawn slip out, fighting my instincts to pass out since I was still a young fledgling. He watched me as he stayed instead of getting up with me. "You look really tired," he whispered. "You can sleep in my room until Silas wants to leave." He gave me an innocent smile then got to his feet. "I don't mind at all. My bed is really comfortable." He grabbed my hand and started to lead me down the stairs. I blushed but decided not to object, following after him. He led me through a maze of halls till he reached a door and then took me inside to a hardwood floored room. The walls were painted a nice light blue and had a white trim, going great with his light colored wood floor. He smiled at me and led me over to his bed that was pretty large for one person and was covered in galaxy bedsheets that looked silky. He sat me down on it and then smiled, gently pushing me onto my back before he got in beside me and covered me up then snuggled up to my side, wrapping me up in his arms. I closed my eyes to accept my heavy eyes as they were. I fell asleep to his scent intoxicating me.
~Time Skip~
He stirred against me as we heard a knock at my door and then sat up, groaning. "Who is it?"
"It's just your favorite sister," I heard a girl say at the door. "Inari said it's time for you to go. The vampires need to leave." Toru groaned and fell on top of me, nuzzling his face into my neck tiredly as he gripped my shirt.
"Okay," he groaned out. "In a few hours." I giggled and sat up, pulling him with me.
"I have to go before the sun wakes up. Come on, we'll be able to sleep when we get to the guest bedroom at the castle here." He whined and then looked at me before he started trying to push me down.
"Just stay the day," he whined and tried putting his weight against me as he crawled into my lap in his efforts to make me fall back against his bed.
"We have to go though, for Charles and Pierre..." I whispered and ran my fingers through his hair. "Come on, it's time." He whined and then looked up at me, his golden eyes giving me a tired look before he shifted on me and crawled into my arms, his kimono falling against my lap. He laid his ears back and yawned, nuzzling his head against me. I frowned and made sure his kimono stayed around him as I carried him to go find my maker. Poor guy, he's more tired than I am. He swiftly passed out in my arms, his little nose twitching as his breathing became slower. I found Silas standing by the door with Toru's bags, Inari right next to him.
"Hey kiddo," Silas said and gave me a smile. "Ready? We need to get to the castle quickly. I already texted the directions to Charles. They'll be at the castle by now. Oh... and do you want Toru to stay in your room or have his own? Rei was asking."
"Well I think he should stay in his own... so that when he wakes up he won't bother me during the day." I explained and rubbed Toru's head. "So are you going to take advantage of staying in Rei's castle by talking business with him tomorrow night before we leave?" I asked curiously. "You two are kings... you should have a real close relationship since you're an otaku." I teased him lightly. Silas laughed and shook his head.
"Yeah, I'll be talking with him before we go of course," he told me and then looked at Inari. "Thank you Inari. He'll be safe," he whispered and bowed slightly before he looked at me. "Let's go Laurence. The sun will be up in a few hours, and I don't want to be caught in it." He grabbed my hand and quickly started to lead me out, carrying Toru's bags. He led me down the stairs quickly and then to the car where he put Toru's bags in the back and got the passenger door for me. "I'll message Rei to set Toru up his room for you," he purred and kissed my cheek before he shut the door and went around, getting in. I suddenly got a weird feeling like I was being watched, the hairs on the back of my neck standing up as dread filled me. Toru stirred slightly in my lap and I heard a small growl from him in his sleep. Must be the demon.....
"Silas, I think the demon is watching me.... Don't drive just yet...." I glanced around to check for our safety and shook Toru awake. Silas frowned and sat still, fidgeting with his keys. Toru growled and woke up, his eyes glancing towards my hand before he licked it and pawed at it then tensed up. He sat up a little and then got closer to me, growling at the darkness outside threateningly and laid his ears back. Silas watched him curiously then looked outside in slight confusion then tensed up as we were both met by demonic looking eyes out in the darkness, staring me down. I opened the car door and let Toru get him for me. "Go get him Toru," I encouraged and smirked. Toru leapt out of the car and ran off after the darkness, glowing a bright white. Silas widened his eyes and dropped the keys in his lap.
"What the hell?!" He asked then looked at me. "Was that seriously him?!"
"I told you," I purred. "That's the demon after my soul." He looked at me in wonder then out the window, watching as Toru's little form ran off. He shifted uneasily then looked back at me.
"Damn... he followed you all the way to Japan huh? He must be pissed at you... and I bet he's pissed Toru is still with you. It's a good thing Inari let you keep him," he whispered and then shook his head. "He would've jumped us if Toru wasn't with you."
"You think so? Maybe I need to carry protection around at all times. That way Toru doesn't have to follow my shadow so much. Plus when he's not nearby.... I will be able to fight for my soul. I should get one tonight before I go to bed." I frowned slightly. Toru will be in another room too during the day.... What if I get a room with windows and the demon burns me alive in the sun? I'll roast! Bake! Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, yeah?
"Well... it wouldn't be a bad idea," he told me softly. "I'll look into things to get you to help protect you some." I heard Toru's small bark by the car, catching my attention. I looked towards him and let him back in with a sweet smile.
"Good job Toru! You scared him off. Now we can go home," I looked towards Silas. He nodded and started up the car, starting to drive us. Toru started to lick his bloody muzzle, looking disgusted by it. "What'd you do?" I asked and helped clean his bloody muzzle up. "Bite him back to hell?" I teased.
"I bit his ankle hard when I caught him," he told me and looked up at me innocently. "He screeched so loud, I don't think he's coming back for a bit. He tasted awful!"
"Well he's a foul demon," I purred and kissed Toru on top of the head, pleased by him. He seemed to like the attention and licked my cheek before he curled up in my lap and looked at his kimono before he crawled into it then poked his head out. He yawned and looked up at me with a cute look before he sneezed and closed his eyes, rolling over onto his back. I laughed and rubbed his head, looking over at Silas, purring slightly.
