Wait... when did Marlos have the time to do this? There's even gifts from Head Chef Voss and Dayana too.
{Well we did catch them in midst of an orgasm… he could've had the idea then, I mean a lot of good ideas comes from something stimulating like sex...}
I see… it's like when I used to write web novels during high school and a lot of times I get my good ideas from watching people in their everyday lives. Though back then I had a vivid imagination.
I don't have much of it now since I've now become a teacher but I still read some of my old work from time to time. I have thought about using some of my old works for a class but I toss that idea out when I couldn't find a good way of connecting it to script writing or storytelling techniques.
"And here we are ~" Lupin drawled as we arrived at the front of a place that looked like a tavern and I would've thought it was a tavern if it weren't for their logo above the doorway. "Welcome to my humble abode. My little base may not stand up to some of the bigger ones but with this raid and many more like this one, someday the High Flyers Guild will reach the higher ranks and join the echelon of the top tiered guilds."
Lupin swung the door opened and guided me in. Inside was everything I had expected it to be and so much more. If I had to compare, I would say it's similar to the Fairytail guildhall's interior, kind of like a pub but the patrons are the guild members. I couldn't help but be in awe as my information network activated when I looked around the room. A tone of pop ups appeared in front of me, displaying the profiles of the guild members in the room. All of whom turned their heads as we walked in.
I had a quick look at most of the profiles and it quickly became apparently that everyone in here are highly skilled. The lowest grade that I could see was a A grade and the highest from what I could tell was Lupin. A bulk of their members are either graded as a S to a SSS and the majority of the guild members has the specialty role of either a fighter, bruiser or tank.
There were about a few hundred members of the guild scattered around the guildhall.
"Morning everyone! Today we are taking on the Hiliox raid! There are only a few of these dungeons available right now and we were luckily enough to snag one. The difficulty of this raid is 5 stars, this means that there are little to no room for error. All those who would be participating in this raid will have a pending notification on your Adventurer's ID card."
Everyone took out their card and flipped it over. After a few minutes, complaints started to come in. I guess when you have a guild filled with highly skilled and highly graded members, shit just hits the fan when your ego is bruised.
"Wait, you haven't told them who's going to be in the raid team yet?" I whispered to Lupin.
"Well… a lot had happened in the last few days and I wasn't able to announce anything until now…" Lupin whispered back but I could hear a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Right…"
I looked around the room and everyone who wasn't selected to be in the team, voiced their complaints.
"Why wasn't I been chosen!" One of the members shouted from across the room, he was the first one to be the most vocal about his complaint on not making on to the team.
"I'm the best tanker in this whole fucken guild, for fuck sakes!" Another one voiced his complaint from another corner of the guildhall. "Who the fucks were chosen and not me?!"
"Me!" Boomed a voice from the bar in the centre of the room. A big burly man who sat on a stool, sets his mug of liquor down and got of the seat. "I was chosen, you got a problem with that, Mankey?"
"Ah Boom… eh… sorry… never mind…" Mankey responded with a quieter voice.
"What a fucken beta… no wonder you weren't chosen. All talk with little action to show for it." Boom shook his head, sat back down on his stool and asked the bartender to refill his mug back up.
"Now, now guys… It took me a long time to compile this comp figuration and we really need this raid to be successful if we want to have a bigger base… so for those who haven't been chosen for this raid, will get a chance to be chosen for the next."
"Okay guild leader, who is this Ryan and why did he take the last spot? He's not even in our guild!" A member closest to where I stood, shouted out.
"The one your talking about is this guy here," Lupin placed a hand on my shoulder and grinned to his members. "His name is Ryan Huang and he's the newly graded SSS adventurer. He will be one of the support chosen for the team."
"That didn't answer my question."
"Well, he is one of the otherworlder that the king had summoned to conquer the God's tower."
"He-he's an otherworlder?"
"Correct."
A lot of murmurs and whispers floated around the room as everyone was in complete disbelief.
"He will be on the team as a guest and I had agreed in a deal with the prince that we would let him have the first pick of the rewards." Lupin continued as I watched their expressions changed from confusion to anger.
The second round of complaints came in much louder than the first.
"Quiet!" Lupin called out. "Ryan is not part of our Guild but he would be prominent in the success of this raid. Once you've seen his skills, you will know. Now then, Takoon will be the raid team's leader and Jara will be the overseer. Like I said earlier, Ryan will be part of the support which we will need since we have only two others in the support team. Take good care of each other and I hope the raid will be a success. Takoon, you and your team will need to be at the G.C in the next thirty minutes. The gate will open for us at eight."
"Yes. Guild Master." Takoon walked to Lupin and bowed. He then turned around and called for the raid team.
Lupin guided and introduced me to two people who will be my fellow companions in the support team. The first one was a tall woman with braided hair, golden eyes and wore a priestess looking outfit. She introduced herself as Namise. The other was an bald old man with a curly moustache. He looked like one of those guys from a modern barbershop. He introduced himself as Pyrus.
"These two will take good care of you in the dungeon. Though they are new comers to my guild, they are in fact veteran adventurers."
"That's good to hear," I said nonchalantly but when he said that they are new comers, that struck a cord with me. Of the twenty members in this raid team, there only three supports. What's more, until I'm able to get back my nature's aura skill, I won't be much of a healer, as my only other healing skill would be helping hands. If I had to define my role as a support, I would be categorised as a utility or a tech support.
Lupin patted me on my back and left.
For me to know the full extent of if we're doomed or not, I had to ask them, what type of support they are.
"Oh… I'm a healer." Namise said hesitantly.
"And I'm a control support." Said Pryus.
Hm… I guess it's not too bad, at least we have one healer.
"What type of support are you, Ryan?" Asked Namise.
"I'm more of a er… utility and tech support."
"Tech?" Asked Namise in confusion.
"Technical."
"Ah… we're fucked…" Pyrus shook his head.
"What do you mean?" Asked Namise.
"What I mean is your the only one who can heal everyone."
"Oh… we'll my healing abilities are A grade."
"And everyone in this team are S grade and above, I believe."
"But can't the majority of the people self heal?"
"I have chatted up with most of the members of this guild, mainly because I wanted know who, I would synergies well with and well… twelve of those people are on this team and none of them can self heal."
"Oh no… none of my abilities can mass heal. I could only at most heal three at a time and it takes a lot of energy to constantly heal…"
"Don't panic just yet," Pyrus turned his head to me. "Ryan right?"
"Yes."
"You say you are utility and technical support, correct?"
"Yes."
"What kind utility abilities do you have?"
"If you're wondering if I also can heal people, than yes, but I currently have only one ability at the moment that can do so and it can only heal a few people at a time."
"Well one heal ability is enough to at least alleviate some of the pressure."
"Yes but if we're in a large scale battle, it won't help much…" I said calmly.
"Fuck… you're right."
"Well, there is a way that will annul the pressure completely." I admitted.
Both of them looked at me like they just saw a strange creature.
"And what way is that?"
"If I reach level 75, I could learn an ability that can mass heal."
Both of their eyes widened.
"No freakin way! What level are you right now?"
"Level 55…"
"Oh… twenty levels… that would be a challenge… never mind, we're back to being fucked…"
It was then, Takoon called for everyone to be quiet.
"Now that the members that will be on the raid team have been gathered, we will make our way to the G.C soon. Grab your pack and gear at the back of the guildhall and meet me outside in ten. Dismissed."
"Welp… we better head over there and grab those packs." Pyrus said.
"I'll see you two outside." I said.
"Wait you're not coming?" Namise asked with concern.
"I already have everything I need with me."
Both of them looked at me like I'm sort of an alien.
"Don't worry about me, go and grab your packs and gear."
"Alrighty then…"
Both of them made their way to the back of the guildhall.
I, on the other hand, made my way back the way I came, out of the guildhall.
Once I walked outside, Takoon who was standing near the the door, stopped me.
