I stared up at the ceiling of my room, wondering how tomorrow would turn out. Marlos did try and help me prepare for tomorrow but the equipment he had are suited for every role, except for a support.
{"Don't be too discouraged, master. Don't forget you're wearing the shadow king's armour set. Although it's full power can't be utilised yet, it's protection capabilities is second to none."} Gambert comforted and reminded me.
Oh right! Yes, I already have the shadow king's armour and it's inconspicuous. No one would know I have any armour on because no one other than my allies can see it, so it's the ultimate protection.
Whilst protection is now covered, I do however need gear, some way to defend myself. In every team oriented game there is, the support will always be the first one to be targeted. Keeping the support alive is to keep the team alive. And with so little supports on the raids team tomorrow, especially if I wasn't on the team, they would definitely be lamb for slaughter.
It's even worse if all of them are healers. Utility supports are just as important as those with primary healing skills. Helping hands is my only healing skill and as of right now, I could only use it on a few people. If only I could swap out helping hands with Nature's Aura. Nature's Aura is like helping hands but a lot more powerful and it's an AOE skill.
But sadly, Nature's Aura is a mythical skill and I can only learn it, once I levelled to level 75. The only two orbs I could obtain the skills for are Elemental Shift and Weather Creation. Elemental Shift is a Legendary skill which I could learn at level 45 and Weather Creation is an Epic skill and could learn it at level 30.
Right now, I'm close to level 55 which means I still have about twenty levels to go until I reached level 75. Hmm… also I wouldn't want to swap out Master's eyes and Information Network with Elemental shift and Weather Creation at the moment. Master's eyes is like having a hacker's vision or to be precise, a sixth sense.
Another sixth sense would be information network. If I were to swap out Information Network I Would risk losing having important information at my disposal but I will also lose Communication Network…
Hmm… I went to my storage ring and looked at the colourful orbs in the ring dancing around. I could sense the pulsating energy from the godly orb, the ultimate I had in my previous life, Catastrophe.
I've never used it even once because I was too scared of what might happen. It's name alone is ominous and coupled with it being a godly skill, the name might as well be the description as well.
I sighed as I closed the storage ring, went over to my skills interface and opened up the HUD of Mastermind. I looked at all the tabs and suddenly I remembered that both of the shop and story tabs are now unlocked when I levelled up immensely back at the trials.
I looked at the story tab first because it intrigued me the most as to what it actually is. I was certainly surprised to find out that the story tab is like a memoir, my memoir. It's recording the events of my life not only in this world but when I scrolled up, it also detailed recorded my life back in my home world and also my previous life as well.
Not wanting to have an existential crisis, I exited out of the story tab and went over to the shop tab. In the shop tab, there were three icons to choose from. [Buy/Sell], [Upgrade] and [Craftstone].
Out of the three, Craftstone is the only one that's greyed out. When I hover my finger over it, it said it's 'unavailable'…
{You can't use Craftstone until you upgrade the mastermind system to level four.}
Oh? Upgrade huh? You mean the second Icon is where I upgrade the system?
{Correct.}
So I'm guessing, the second icon is where I upgrade all my skills?
{Also correct. Though I would advice you to check it after you check the buy/sell icon. It's linked.}
Alright.
I clicked on the buy/sell icon and Lo and behold, it's exactly like the store or vendor interface you would see in a RPG game. The layout kind of reminds me of eBay or Amazon with its item on one side and it's description and cost on the other.
The items within this interface looked similar to what you might find at any online RPG vendor store but what caught my eyes were the skills selection. There were an array of skills to choose from and a lot of them were high grade, ranging from Epic to Mythical. Sadly there wasn't any godly skills though.
{You can't easily acquire a godly skill. These skills can only be obtained either from a godly creature or be given one by a god. I was shocked when I found out that you had one. Not only that but all your skills were top tier. So when I chosen you as my champion, it took everything I had to not lose your skills. I managed to transfer all your skills into orbs for containment. Right now you are the only one in possession of two godly skills. The one I created and the one you previously owned.}
Wait… so I could use both of the godly skills?
{Yes. Well… technically, you will only be using one godly skill as my mastermind system doesn't actually count as a skill per say.}
Even so, the mastermind system will be the only godly skill I could use right now because I have to be level 100 to even obtain my previous skill.
{Not necessarily. Scroll down a bit for me.}
Like this?
I scrolled down a bit until she said stop.
{Yes. Stop. There. Right there, it's called the 'Bypass Modifier'. It's a one time use but it will allow you to acquire and use one skill regardless of it's requirements.}
Oh my… but it's expensive though… 20,000 coins? Where am I going to get that much coin?
{Why not ask Marlos if you could have some of his money? You can pay him back once you completed the raid tomorrow.}
I guess I could do that, I mean it wouldn't hurt to ask him and it would be worth it to have my previous skill again. It might come in handy for tomorrow too.
Connect to Marlos.
[Connected]
"Hey Marlos, you're in bed?"
"Uhm define 'in bed'…"
Ah! Ohmmm!~
My eyes widened as I just heard a soft moan faintly.
"Oh… Sorry! I'll leave you to it."
"Oh General! Don't worry, I can multitask. What do you need?"
"Eh… I don't think I can ask you this when your… you know…"
"Ask away."
I felt my heart quicken as I'm talking to Marlos as he's having sex at this moment… good going Ryan! What a time to ask…
"Quickly general… what do you want to ask?"
Fuck!
"Can I borrow 20,000 coins?"
"Oh? Is that all? Sure. I'll get someone to bring you the coins soon."
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it. Uhmm General, could you disconnect now? I don't want you to hear the next part…"
Disconnect!
Ah!~…
[Disconnected.]
{Oh! My! That sounded exciting.}
Talking about timing… I should've disconnected the moment I realised what was happening…
{What's there to be ashamed about? Mating is the course of life.}
I guess…
Not long after the embarrassing ordeal, I heard a knock on my door.
Bang! Bang!
That was quick… I walked over to the door and opened it. Outside was Grayson carrying a small wooden chest.
"Hey there General. This chest contains 20,000 coins."
"Thank you." I took the chest from him.
"Have an early night General. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for you."
"Yeah… I'm about to… I was just doing some last minute preparations before I go to sleep."
"I wish you luck, tomorrow General."
"Thanks."
"Night, General. Oh and you may not want to contact the prince for the rest of the night if you know what I mean. Just contact me if you need anything else and I'll see to it."
I nodded my head but my face turned bright red. He gave me a wink, bowed his head and walked away snickering.
I ran a hand through my hair after I closed the door, walked to my bed and place down the chest of coins onto my bedside table.
I opened the latch and when I did, a bright golden light escaped from the opening of the chest. Inside of the chest was filled to the brim with golden coins.
The mastermind system confirmed the amount of the coins and registered the amount. I went to the item and bought it. My coin account was back to zero again but it didn't matter because I just acquired a very unique item.
[Congratulations! You have now obtained the Bypass Modifier. The item has now been placed in your inventory.]
[Bypass Modifier has now been sold out.]
Sold out? Dang… Wait… how do I use it?
{Exit out of the buy/sell and go to the upgrade icon.}
I exited out of the buy/sell interface and entered the upgrade interface. The layout of the upgrade interface was quite different to the buy/sell interface as it showed all my skills displayed like a skills tree.
There are four main nodes with all four of my skills in the nodes and underneath my ultimate skill, mastermind, has it's subsidiary skills nodes. Underneath all of the main skills nodes, there is a plus sign which suggests that I could add more than one skill to my set?
{Yes. That's correct. But to gain an extra slot, you must pay it's cost which is 2 points.}
2 points?
{Yes. The amount of points you gain is the amount of members you have in your companies. In total, you have currently about 135 points to spend. Spend the 2 points to get an extra slot in your ultimate slot.}
I clicked on the plus sign.
[Do you want to open a new node for the ultimate slot?]
Yes.
[Congratulations! You have now obtained a new node for your ultimate slot.]
{Now, get the orb out of your storage ring and absorb its power. The Bypass Modifier will automatically work.}
Okay.
I took out the orb and held it in my hands. It's power radiated out from my hands.
Suddenly I felt the power of the orb seep into me.
[Warning! Requirements has not been met. Deactivate or lose your life.]
[Bypass Modifier has been detected. Do you want to continue?]
Yes.
[Bypass Modifier has now been used. The requirements of the skill has now been lifted.]
A surge of power shot through my body as I watched the orb started to fade away.
[Congratulations! You have now obtained the ultimate skill: Catastrophe.]
[Would you like to equip the new skill into the ultimate skills node?]
Yes.
[Ultimate skill: Catastrophe has now been equipped to ultimate skills node.]
