Chapter 11 - Finally back to something more normal

We barely made it on time to our first class it was just basic theories but it was our first step towards a higher education. Ivy took a whole whopping five minutes before she was bored and wanted to leave. So I sent her on a mission that she was more then happy to do and then focused on school. This teacher never looked up it was just straight reading from text.

Ten minutes into the class I wished I could become a pixy I would so be out of here, even Bug was swaying half asleep. By the end of class most were napping. There was actually five gods children also attending and each had a simular desk to those I saw at the opening hall. It wasn't till the end that I realize they probably were, as they lifted off and floated into a tube probably heading to where ever their next class were.

We didn't even have the fake desk probably because they didnt expect us, my next class was quite a ways away and required us to run to get there on time. Luck saved us this time or maybe I should say Oval did he had passed out in the doorway so the teacher couldn't shut it on the dot. Being human she Ms.Cast had no way to move him, me and bug had to help by rolling him in so the rest could finally entered.

To say Ms.Cast was displeased was rather understated, her face even turned purple and she still gave us demerits. This class was on basic spell casting many had never really cast many spell so it was good for them but it was a snoorefess for me. I snook out the last book given to me from home on third and forth level spells and started studying on my own.

Appearently and sadly Ms.Cast noticed my lack of interest in her class, even though she refused to call on or even look our way 90 percent of the time. She charged up to me and tryed to snatched my book, well that wasn't going to happen. I quickly slipped it back into my bag after easily pulling it from her hands. She started screaming abuse and pressed some kind of button gem on her bracelet.

I couldn't understand anything she was trying to say but when two hulking knights came through the doorway, I realized I was in a lot of trouble. She paused long enough to tell the Knights that I had stolen a book nd refused to give it back when caught. "What are you even talking about this is my book, my god gave it to me. The handbook says we may study other content during class if the materials are already known. I have not committed any crime."

"Yeah right, I demand the right to test this little liar if she can answer my questions then I'll ignored her behavior and even sign her into a more advanced spell casting class myself," her smirk said it all. Ms.Cast just grunted evilly and grabbed my classroom book off my table.

The Knights would be her witness and were there to take me to the jail if I couldn't prove my worth. She spent the next hour and a half asking me about all the various first level spells. When she couldn't stump me she pulled out second level spells finally she screamed about me cheating somehow.

Finally the knights called a halt to it as the bell rang for the next class, I almost flew out the door to get away from her. Maybe I should skip that class if she didn't advance me like she said. Next class I definitely didn't want to miss it was spell applications, real true spell casting and weapons haray. We made it to the arena in record time happy to do more then sit for the next three hours.

It was taught by a Thoth god clones and had no bias each student was given instructions equally. Each student had a clone that focus on that student and assisted them taking notes. For me this was a breeze but great fun because I got to cast spells I had never even got to cast before. So far this was my favorite class by far halfway through we switched to armed weapons. We had to run again which we had been doing all day then were split once again into pairs practicing the art of weapons.

At the end we were ask where our desk, uniforms, and lunches were and a displeased look covered his face when we told him none we given to us. Within a minute many small plain looking desks arrived to carry us to our last class, Independent learning. Thoth told us to tell the desk where to go and they would take us there. First though we needed to collect uniforms in the commensary before starting independent studies.

I was so glad that Thoth was not part of the reason for the disadvantages of coarse, he would not interfere ether because he did not believe he should interfere but observe the natural order of the world. Now his wife, she would be very helpful because she strongly believed in honor, justice and truth. If We could get a chance to document or record proof we could maybe stop this treatment. Damm if I had my cell phone I could just hit film and show her what was happening.

Independent learning was great we could use it to study, do homework, research concepts, explore our potential with magic or weapons the possibilities were numerous. I wanted, to know more about the machines and how they were used here. Maybe they even already had types of cell phones here but rarely could used use them. Off to the library of machines to explore and learn.

The library was quite aways from the main school building and took at least an hour to get there even by flying desk. It actually sat on the highest peak of the mountains and seemed to have a huge observatory on top of it. The building itself was made out of some kind of gleaming métal with silver and gold swirls as random decoration. Even stranger the whole roof and top two floors sported nothing but glass.

When I finally arrived it was to be stopped by two massive metal spiked balls with feet and spider spear like arms. A large eyeball appeared in its stomuch area and asked to see a permit. I asked in return how to get a permit and was told that one had to be in the last year of school and had three teachers recommendations first, then I could apply at administration building to get the pass.

My disappointment was huge to say the least but then the robot who I named Spiky in my head said I could visit the museum to gain some ideas about machines and what they were used for in the museum building. By the time we finished talking I had found out he did not know what a cell phone was and it was time to go home. With a wave goodbye my desk flew off to our dorms to rest.
