Our first teacher who I had discovered was named Mr. Primo still treated the class like we should only listen to him read. So I just grabbed some of the books from the library and started to read. Today's topic was about creating small time rifts, this spell had only been created by the gods to displace oneself into a short repeat time to correct an error.
Appearently it allowed gods to not repeat a error that could result in cataclysmic event, one that would basically end all lifeforms including their own. This was a spell cast created first by my god and goddess and was implanted within their offspring genetics. It prevented any of them from destroying all that they had created mainly the earth and very heavens. As a result of this casting they choose to give up a large part of their powers.
Since then it's usage was rarely used even some of the lesser gods that had tried to destroy the earth or heavens could not do so because their bodies would automatically cause a time rift to form trapping them until they changed that coarse of action. Some being driven insane refused and supposively were still caught inside the rift repeating their actions for eternity.
Thoth had himself investigated the rifts of coarse to obtain knowledge but found out that basically one was stuck without anyway to continue down that destructive path. Since that path was closed if their very thoughts followed that path one would be unable to exist until turning away from it. Thus they could not effect anything around them and so it was unimportant.
Crap another dead end, I thought for a second I might be able to use those rift to go to my time. And with that said the class time was over and we could go to our next class. I had to poke Bug awake with my quial before we went sailing to Ms. Cast class I sent a prayer to my god asking once again she would transfer me.
Spell casting for Idiots so boring just lecture, ignore citizens, praise God child, belittle the citizen, rinse repeat. As the class came to a end she said we would all be having out first round of major testing started next week so we should ready ourselfs. Ms.Cast gave me a particularly daring and evil look and asked me to wait to leave.
That evil smile she had did not bode well, finally everyone gone and her work straighten and books put away she turned to me. "I heard several complaints from your new teacher, she says you have not been attending her classes. I wondered why then thought, oops I suppose I forgot to tell you that I had you transferred close to a month ago. By the way you got a week to get ready for your testing hope you fail."
Her evil crackling could be heard as her desk flew off down a tube by the roof, I hoped it would collapsed on her. How the hell was I going to get ready for testing in a class I never attended, had no book for, or even knew had existed. Dammmmm I was so mad. I had to find Ivy and fast but couldn't afford to miss clone Thoth's class.
I had to cast a speed spell on my desk to make it in time and almost crash landed into the arena area as a result. Well at least I now knew that my third class speed spell could be used on inanimate objects. That was kinda cool it you thought about its applications, but I though it was only use able on oneself or party members.
Thoth looked at me in astonishment, "How were you able to cast a sixth level spell on your desk?" "Sorry for running a little late I'm just glad the spell worked. Wait a minute did you just say a sixth class spell but I only learned the third class spell for speed," I exclaimed. Clone Thoth just gave me a weird look then said, "maybe I need to do more research on that spells usability, thank you for adding to my knowledge."
That day we were sparring against each other in the arena and it usually one of my favorite things. Facing off against other magic or weapon masters sharpened our skills while allowing us to gain experience and better speed in a real battle. Usable I fought against clone Thoth because,my magic was too advanced against the others making it a unfair advantage.
In addition, I was so advanced in the use of a bow for long distance and short distances I could score a kill shot first before my opponent moved. Only those in the higher classes had the speed and skills to block my shots. Thoth had made me switch to using daggers so that I was forced to learn how to defend myself at close in attacks as well.
Last battle, I had finally been able to protect myself with a variety of spells and struck a killing bow against the number one student. I was so excited to compete against my new opponent today. First in class went last to show the rest how best to fight, invent, and win against the toughest, fastest, hell even the luckiest.
When my turn approached I had seen great improvements in our citezins members we were just as good as the gods children in class. Hell my last opponent was the top rated warrior of the god children and now probably for only one brief moment I was able to stand on top. I was pretty sure my last battle was a fluke.
Thoth called me into the ring for the last fight and I enjoyed immensely the cheers of my friends. I even noticed some of the gods children were looking on and smiling for the briefest of moments I felt as if I was on top of the world. The plunge into reality was like getting thrown into ice cold water as the top rated mage and prior top warrior entered the ring to face me.
