Chapter 4 - Walking Is A Drug

There she was standing, the beauty, the angel, Lynn in her casual outfit, a jacket, and loose pants. Lynn without uniform was best and the worst thing that could happen to Patrick. Her usual elegant look was replaced with a more casual look.

She took the initiative to start the conversation, "Good evening Patrick. Fancy meeting you here, what are you buying?"

Patrick tried to engage in eye contact with her, but it failed because his face always blushed when he looked at her cute face, "What are you doing here?" He said as he looked at the counter where the medicines were placed.

"Nothing, just figure out that I need some vitamins. I also have to buy some alcohol for cleaning the library tomorrow. Care to join?" She asked him.

"I think I will be busy tomorrow. Sorry, but I don't think I can do that tomorrow, " Patrick gave her an excuse.

"Is that so? I'm the librarian there and I observe that you always read a book in the library. Could you help me? The language teacher will give us an extra score if you help me clean the computer, " Lynn said as the pharmacist gave her a 99% Isopropyl alcohol.

Patrick who was a whore in grade, "We'll see," he said as he retrieved the pills in a tubular container and paid it with his life insurance which the pharmacist gladly accept. It was 100 pills with a prescription that he must eat it before breakfast and after dinner.

Lynn observed that container and said, "So... You've turned into an addict huh?" She teased her.

"What? No, I just need it for my wounds," he said as he showed her his bandages. She didn't seem to care or anything, she just kept her flat face. She then smiled a bit. She then offered him, "Want to go home together?"

"Mmm, I'm not sure about that," he said, but it was too late. His hands were already grabbed by that girl and his heart was felt as if it wanted to burst open. He was very happy, but he was very shy too. He started thinking about what if this and what if that. They got out of the pharmacy and walked alongside in that town's residential area.

'Oh my God, I'm in heaven,' he said as he was holding hands with Lynn. Lynn's face was flat as usual, but it was more beautiful tonight. With the light from the city skylines, it just made walking more romantic.

He never once thought that holding hands could be this romantic. He always thought that something romantic was dinner in a fancy restaurant in town. But he knew that he was wrong and he glad that he lost the purity of his hand.

"Patrick, the moon is beautiful today," she said as she looked at the sky. The sentence didn't make any sense, but it just felt magical.

"I know," he said as he looked at the moon above to divert his attention from her.

Though, when they were together, the concept of time and space became nonexistent because they felt as if the world was only owned by both of them. They didn't realize that they had arrived at Lynn's home. It was a one-story house with a small yard and surrounded by a brick wall. She waved him goodbye from the door, "See you at school Patrick."

"See you soon too," he said as he waved his hand and she closed the door. He headed back to his boarding house after that. The night was getting late, it was nine o'clock already. He ran to the dorm because he didn't want his teacher to scold him and his friends to be angry at him.

Luckily, he arrived at the boarding house just before his teacher wanted to lock the door. He was safe from that time and his teacher asked, "You're almost late, where have you been?"

"Sorry, ma'am. There was some complication," he said while grinning and scratching his head.

"What kind of complication?" She asked.

"You know? Girl," he said.

"Ohoho boys," She said as she let him inside the boarding house and she locked the door.

He headed straight to his room. He grabbed a glass of water first from the kitchen and went straight to bed. But the phone was ringing again and there was a message from that unknown person.

Unknown: "Have you bought the Oxycodone yet?"

Patrick: "Yes I have."

Unknown: "Great, take one tablet and go to sleep."

Patrick: "What if I don't?"

Unknown: "Then good luck walking to your school. Even I doubt that you can wake up with that much pain in your leg and hand."

Patrick: "Ok, I get it. Damn."

He took a pill and pushed it down his throat with a glass of water. He then checked on his homework which had been done before dinner. He just wants to check it first before he went to the bed.

Unknown: "I think you've unlocked the favor section."

Patrick: "Shut up, stop messaging me. I'm trying to sleep."

Unknown: "Ok, Good night, but please open it if you have the time."

Patrick: "Thanks."

In curiosity, he opened the favor option on the application. There was a lot of locked option, the only option that was available was this.

[Distraction: 30$]

[Light Distraction: 15$ Locked Rep level 2]

[Heavy Distraction: 90$ Locked rep level 7]

[TIMS Hack Trees: 1000$ Locked rep level 15]

[Locked]

[Locked]

'Holy shit, what an expensive favor. This game is grindy as hell' he said as he scrolled through the favor menu. There was no more interesting thing since the rest of the option was still locked. He then scrolled through the other menu and that menu was the ammo shop.

[7.62x39mm FMJ: 20$]

[7.62x39mm Hollowpoint: 45$ Locked Rep level 29]

[7.62x39mm Armor Piercing: 90$ Locked rep level 39]

[7.62x39mm Sabot: 120$ Locked rep level 60]

'Damnit even the basic ammo for a magazine is so expensive,' he said as he was done scrolling through the ammo shop and put his phone away. But the stranger messaged him again.

Unknown: "Do contract again ok?"

Patrick: "STFU, I want to sleep damnit."

He put his phone on the charger and went to sleep and prepared for school tomorrow.
