The unified name in the modern era for the first level of Laws is called "Law Creation". It refers to the fact that in this stage, expressions of Laws can be created from nothing, even without the use of Fae.
One could create fire atop a pond. Or water in the middle of a blazing desert. Laws exist throughout the entirety of the Thirty Three Heavens, and are present in some ways regardless of whether they fact one cannot perceive them or not.
The ancient name for the first level of Wood Laws was called Flowering Seed, the exact details of which were currently still being explored by Arthur.
However, the abilities of Bone Laws and Shadow Laws had been thoroughly excavated by him.
First level Bone Laws: Fracturing Bones.
Like all of the first level of Laws, Fracturing Bones could create bones from nothing. This ability could be used offensively in order to create a mortal bone sword, or a bone shield or regrow bones that have been lost.
Realistically, it was an extremely specialized healing Law that only worked on bones. It could also repair bones that had been broken or fractured, filling the gaps or pulling them back together with the power of Law.
On the other hand, the first level of Shadow Laws was: Night Gathering.
It was an ability that could only be used in the presence of light, and created a pseudo-nightscape. All light was removed from the area, as if plunged into a seemingly endless night. The ability could be narrowed down to specific places or parts of the body, so it appeared as though something that was black and lightless, despite being bright and colourful.
It was quite useful when trying to fool enemies of ranged attacks. Considering one could make an object appear as though a shadow, when in actuality it was a physical object.
But still, both Shadow Laws and Bone Laws were extremely different in nature to Wood Laws, despite all having the same origin. Wood Laws were much more present in the World around oneself, rather than being created by oneself.
Plants and flora were present everywhere, so its affects would be slightly different than just pure creation. Unlike Bone Laws which could actually heal bones specifically, Wood Laws could heal the plants around Arthur.
Rather than heal, Arthur would use the word "grow" plants around him.
Even if they were on the verge of death, with Flowering Seeds, Arthur could make the plant grow. It actually harmed the vitality of the plant, although for a single moment it would shine brighter than anything else around it.
Due to how widespread the effects of Wood laws were, it was only natural that there would be some drawbacks. Shadow Laws and Bone Laws were already limited, so Arthur suspected that Wood Laws would have a potential negative aspect to it.
"That doesn't matter though. The damage to vitality would only affect mortal Ranked plants and Fae materials. It would be near impossible for it to damage anything Rank 1 or higher with just my current comprehension.....".
All Laws improved the power of Fae regardless of what Rank they were as well. So all of the Wood Attributed Fae in Arthur's possession, would have an increase to the effectiveness of their abilities.
A Fae Master once hypothesized that having a high enough attainment in multiple different Laws would allow a Rank 5 Fae Master to defeat a Rank 6 Fae Immortal in one on one combat. However, no Fae Master living or dead could attain such a comprehension before inevitably dying or undergoing Ascension.
His theory wasn't technically disproven, however all Fae Immortals considered it impossible.
There just wasn't enough time for someone to reach such a level and still choose to remain a Fae Master. They would either accidentally undergo Ascension, dying and failing or succeeding and become a Fae Immortal.
Dying of old age was also a possibility too.
Arthur summoned his leafsword Fae, and flourished it in his hands, letting the formless power of Wood Laws extend from his Mind Origin Essence Sea, towards the Fae in his hand.
Faint green coloured markings appeared all over the leafsword, and flicking his arm forward, Arthur severed a tree that would've needed half a dozen fully grown men to completely encircle. The cut on the tree didn't go through all the way, but it was more than half severed with just a single strike.
Nodding his head slightly, Arthur completely cut off the power of Wood Laws within him, letting his hair and eyes turn back to their normal black coloured self. Sitting down underneath another large tree, Arthur silently meditated while contemplating his current abilities.
'With the Law image originating from the Boundless Forest Yearning, I've finally comprehended the first level of Wood Laws. Emotion Laws should theoretically come after that, however I've still got to work hard in order to perceive it. The Spirit Affection Tree Fae is a Rank 2 Fae, and my innate ability originating from the Boundless Forest Yearning should form sometime after the caravan leaves....
'I'm still a little whiles away from reaching solid ruby origin essence, so I'll wait until that comes and then complete the final steps of my plan. The other should also be Rank 2 soon, so whichever one comes second I suppose....
'The caravan will leave in less than a week and they will travel North-East towards the Marina Clan before anything else. That will take at least six weeks if they follow the path recommended by the Kovacs Clan. Information on the state of the Kovacs Clan will undoubtably be exchanged by the merchants, and a wind of change will start to blow through Winter Rain Mountain.
'I'll need to travel North as well once everything here is finished. "That" will be occurring next year, and I have to join "that" if I want my future plans to succeed.....'.
The Boundless Forest Yearning was nothing more than a Sovereign Boundary Physique. It granted a Fae Master the strongest, most inhumane talents known throughout the Thirty Three Heavens, but it was useless without a capable wielder. Arthur wouldn't deny being obsessed with Sovereign Boundary Physiques, or Physiques in general, but at the end of the day, it was his effort that pushed him to his limits.
Not the Boundless Forest Yearning.
Attributing all of his success to his innate talents would end up being his downfall. As it had many fallen Fae Masters....
A previous wielder of the 5th strongest Sovereign Boundary Physique; the Myriad Lightning Spear Sovereign Boundary Physique didn't even go beyond being a Rank 1 Fae Master, even after a decade of "cultivation". The entire time after he joined a Sect was spent playing around with women, gambling and drowning his liver to the point where his own addiction killed him.
He was the greatest disgrace to Sovereign Boundary Physique wielders. To anybody born with innate talent.
His Master, a Fae Master who possessed the Violet Lightning Demon Physique died undergoing Ascension after remembering what a failure he had been to that specific disciple. The shame brought about a mental demon, and killed him as he tried to shed his mortal coil.
Arthur lifted his head and glanced at Nyssa and Dagen, both of whom had arrived at the practice field almost an hour early, their eyes landing on Arthur, and immediately adjusting their postures to turn and walk towards him.
His gaze was clear and pure, as if an untouched mountain spring. With his experience he could see through most lies, and knew....
That these two had something they wanted to ask him.
