Arthur dreamt soundly that night.
His mind was filled with formless images of lush, boundless forests, filled to the brim with every single species of flora found between the heavens and the earth. Every single thing in this seemingly endless landscape all lived in harmony with their Wood Attribute.
The entire world seemed perfect, even despite the clashing nature of some flora, or spirit beasts with opposing secondary Attributes.
Wild Wood Dragons lazed sleepily under the bright yellow sun, while the members of the Wood Race sat idly by, eating various fruits, vegetables and spiritual essence filled materials born from the Heavens and the Earth.
All living things in the world gathered silently underneath an enormous green leaved, pink vined monstrosity, which seemed to extend towards the other Thirty Three Heavens. The sweet, scented pollen that it gave off attracted all things in creation, gradually birthing, and then subsequently laying to rest after many years had passed.
Arthur watched the birth and death of stars. The birth and death of entire Races. The birth and death of the sun and moon.
And yet this tree, in all of its glory and power, remained eternal, even throughout this unrelenting change.
Just gazing at the tree, Arthur wanted to open his mouth and say something, but found the words stuck in his throat. It was as if he could see the entire picture, but lacked just that final piece to complete the puzzle.
His comprehension and perception were above the realm of normal Fae Masters, and there was nothing wrong with his foundations due to the existence of the Boundless Forest Yearning, there was just something different....
Something.... other.
Arthur paused for a moment, still staring at the enormous World Tree sized Affection Tree. His expression froze, and his eyes widened, as he lifted his head and gazed towards the sky above.
There existed hundreds.... if not thousands of formless images above him. So faint and so distant that he couldn't make out their shape, size or form.
Only the light that they emanated in the distance. He originally thought that there would only be Thirty Three lights in the sky, perhaps Thirty Two due to his proximity to the Boundless Forest Yearning, but....
A look of realization washed over Arthur, and he seemed to have comprehended something.
The young man closed his eyes, smiling gently while letting out a small exhale.
"I see.... I'm much too far from that stage then....".
A young man, in a backwater region near the Falling Snow River in the Azure Envy Continent, opened his eyes the next morning, the images from his dream fading away, yet the sensations and emotions he felt remaining deep within his bones.
His hair and irises were both green. The a strange mixture between emeralds and moss. Its dark qualities seemed to give the young man a mysterious aura around him, while the unfathomable depth in his gaze seemed to entrance anyone who dared to look him in the eyes.
Within him, the once formless image of the Affection Tree Fae had grown much more solid, and connection between him and the Boundless Forest Yearning had grown even stronger than before. His Mind, Body and Soul were currently undergoing a slight reformation.
They were adjusting to the sudden increase in perception, and the abilities that came with-.
"Rank 1 Wood Laws.... Law Creation..... It's ancient name in the
It was sudden. Completely random, and not by any means an unwelcome sight.
Most Laws were always random. Appearing and being comprehended at often the worst or even the best of times. A Fae Masters mindset also influenced how Laws could be perceived. Often times after intense amounts of stress or negative emotions, a proper cleansing without the powers of Fae would result in the formation of Laws, or the possibility of Ascension.
There was a brief moment last night.... when Arthur felt completely and utterly disconnected from his World. He felt at peace, unbothered by the affairs of the physical world, and reached a sense of euphoria within himself.
Most Fae Masters would find themselves pleased by their creations, or the results from their hard-work, but everyone was different, and the concept of happiness and content was different from person to person.
In that single moment, Arthur had attained a state of enlightenment. It might've been a dream, or something that the Boundless Forest Yearning was trying to say to him....
But at any rate.... his mind was at ease until the moment he opened his eyes.
"Flowering Seed.... the creation and evolution of Ghosts.... It seems I wasn't wrong with my hypothesis....".
Arthur had wanted to become a Rank 3 Fae Master before he left Parachenko Village, but attaining the first level of Wood Laws: Flowering Seed, was the next best thing. Comprehending a Law, even if it was through the abilities of a Sovereign Boundary Physique put him at a level above other Fae Masters.
The distance between him and Elder Vova right now.... was like the distance between the sun and the moon. Always chasing after each other, never again destined to meet....
The thousand year old demon smiled glancing at a Storage Fae in his origin essence sea before smiling and exiting his cultivation room.
The world of Laws was different for everyone, however, all Laws were formed from the Dao, so in a way, all things in creation were born from the same origin. Laws were no exception of this fact.
Arthur walked past a bed of flowers, not at all glancing backwards to notice that the wilting flowers had suddenly regain their lustre, standing tall and happily, their bright yellow colour reflecting the morning sun just peering over the horizon.
A young sapling that had just been planted in someone's front yard had suddenly grown another inch. Numerous small buds started forming all over its twigs and branches, and underneath the soil, the roots extended further downwards.
An old slightly withered tree, one that had withstood the winds and rain suddenly had a piece of old bark snap off its main trunk. Underneath the dirty old bark revealed a new layer of beautiful red coloured wood, as a single bright green coloured leaf emerged from one of its smallest branches.
The beginning of all Wood Laws, began with birth. The power of the "Flowering Seed" didn't just give a new lease on the life of plants, but also imbued them with the strength to continue growing. It allowed plants to go beyond their current existences, and to some degree, push themselves above their current limits.
It was a beautiful type of Law, much different from the first level of Shadow Laws or Bone Laws that Arthur was familiar with.
Arthur summoned his Dusk Vine Revenant in one of the more isolated practice fields, and let it bask in the power of his Wood Law. Verde immediately felt a response from Arthur's aura, and sat down peacefully, closing his eyes and steading his breathing, as if attempting to meditate.
Verde possessed both Yin and Wood Attributes within him. Even though Arthur's Wood Law was still quite weak, it was enough to at least heal and nurture a Dusk Vine Revenant like Verde.
The grass-like hair on his head extended a few centimetres down, making the little ghost appear slightly more wild than before. Arthur needed to fully explore the limits of Wood Laws in order to get used to their power.
There was only one more week, until the caravan left Parachenko Village
