Arthur had given them all a slight push in regards to their studies that existed outside of both training and normal cultivation. No Fae Master worth his salt would cease their studies on Fae materials, spirit beasts, precious metals or spiritual medicines in order to increase their own strength.
Understanding how certain materials function is an important component of Ascension and forming Bloodlines, Spirits and in some cases Intent. Those who find a ancient or forgotten Fae Formula would have trouble if they didn't know the exact functions of their materials.
Cultivating and training with Fae was only half the battle. The other half was knowledge, gained through research and comprehension.
Descendants from large Clans and Sects, or those whom have powerful ancestors would have to research Fae and Fae materials from the moment they could speak. Their understanding of the countless number of precious resources in the Thirty Three Heavens far exceeds that of someone like Milena or Dagen, who have only just become Fae Masters.
They didn't even have the advantage of possessing innate Attributes like the members of the Myriad Races did. They were born with an innate connection to the heavens and the earth, and as such possessed some knowledge on how the World around them functioned.
They didn't have to learn, so much as they already just knew. Those members of the Wood Race wouldn't have much trouble memorizing or finding out the abilities and structure of certain plants, just like how members of the Merman Race could naturally discern Source Waters.
Arthur had a thousand years worth of experience and memories behind him, and even he didn't shirk just because of the low quality of the materials on hand.
He may have a newly created Dusk Vine Revenant, however, how he could develop it further was what he wanted to find out.
"Dusk Vine Revenants are still possess a dual Wood-Yin Attribute. However, the balance between them is much more stable than just a normal Wood Yin Spectre. Due to the influence of the Spiritual Wood Heart, its spiritual awareness and innate intelligence is much higher than before. Approximately the same as an 8 year old child. His Wood Attribute grew significantly using the Spiritual Wood Heart, which then fuelled the Ghost Tendril Vines.
"Ghost Tendril Vines are also a Wood-Yin Fae material, however in this case the Yin Attribute is the more dominant one. Using this instead of just a Weeping Wood Root Vine was better so as to maintain the balance between the two Attributes. Once the Wood Yin Spectre had killed the Ghost Tendril Vines with all the excess energy, it then reabsorbed it back into its own body, propagating the evolution....".
"The resulting reaction had promoted the Spectre-class ghost all the way to Revenant-class. It's strength has increased as well, reaching the same point as a vapour ruby origin essence Fae Master. However, it is still technically a Rank 1 ghost. Subsequent tests will be done into researching the diet and necessary materials in order to promote its strength further....
Arthur paused for a moment before adding in a final note.
"Another test will be done in the future, without the effects of the Restriction Fae applied. Factors will remain the same, with the sole exception of the restrictive abilities of heavenly laws. Will resume at a later date....".
The thousand year old demon let out a small sigh, closing the book in his hands before throwing it into a Storage Fae and pulling it back into his origin essence sea.
Arthur had started embarking into another field. He had already given up his chance to re-cultivate his Shadow Laws and Bone Laws, opting to cultivate the Boundless Forest Yearning and its unique dual-attribute Law image.
He wasn't entirely sure how cultivating ghosts would fit into his future just yet, however, he didn't want to let this opportunity go so easily.
'Everyone within Parachenko Village knows I use Wood Attributed Fae. Cultivating some Ghosts, even if they also possess a Wood Attribute would be good if I ever need to hide my identity. Additionally, having a few Tamed creatures as hidden trump cards is never a bad thing in the long run....'.
Arthur had never heard of any Sovereign Boundary Physique wielder, with the sole exception of the Formless Night Shadow, cultivating ghosts. Testing the effects that both a Sovereign Boundary Physique, and a body without restrictions from heavenly laws would be a complete and utter waste if Arthur didn't at least try.
Spirit beasts within the Winter Rain Mountains were too weak, and the Fae needed to provoke mutations or evolutions were just as hard to obtain as the materials also needed.
Ghosts did not need Fae in order to evolve. They needed Fae in order to be born.
Sacrificing a couple of Fae that he didn't need would allow Arthur to make use of all the Fae in his possession, even the ones that he did not currently need. He could always sell them at a later date, however there were always risks involved in such practices.
Recycling was better for the environment anyway....
"I still currently have five Wood Yin Ghosts, in addition to Verde, the Dusk Vine Revenant. Using the materials I still have on hand, I could promote another ghost to at least a Ghost-class. And I still want to test out what will happen if I don't use the Restriction Fae.....".
Arthur had shown Verde to everyone, it was best that he have something else hidden in case anything went wrong.
"Dusk Vine Revenants all have the ability to extend, control and manipulate the vines on their bodies. Their hair is akin to grass, but is much sharper and much more deadly than the leaves on the Wood Yin Ghosts. Their skin appears green, yet supple and soft. Their durability is at least three times that of the Wood Yin Ghosts and they also have the ability to possess Rank 1 Wood Attributed Fae materials.....
"Their offensive strength isn't that high, but considering Verde is only Rank 1, everything will be fine".
Arthur took out another Storage Fae, summoning one of the other Wood Yin Ghosts.
This one was slightly skinner than Verde, although other than that, Arthur couldn't see any actual difference. It's appearance, if Arthur was being pedantic, was slightly less ugly than what Verde appeared as.
Arthur wanted all of his ghosts to still retain their Wood Attribute, so he had to be careful in regards to which Fae materials he would purchase, or have Nyssa and the others purchase on his behalf.
Taking out four Fae materials, Arthur waved his finger, causing the Wood Yin Ghost to leap up into the air and fall into the large bucket of liquid that Arthur had prepared earlier. The contents of this bucket was one of the four Fae materials that Arthur had purchased.
The seventeen year old took out another book, and started watching, not even once glancing down to check what he had written.
"Wood Yin Ghost has entered the Wood Source Water. A total of a hundred litres is being used for this experiment. The liquid on its own has not provoked a response from the Wood Yin Ghost. A total of 120 seconds has passed an still no reaction has occurred.
Arthur flicked his wrist slightly, and sent a small fireball flying towards the underneath of the bucket. The large amounts of strangely black coloured firewood, lit up, like fireworks in the night sky. Instead of the crimson coloured fireball that Arthur had released from his wrist, the firewood burned with a strangely eerie black coloured flame.
This was the second ingredient.
Rank 2 Nether Wood.
A Yin Attributed Fae material.
The black coloured flames flickered randomly, as if they were hungry ghosts violently searching for even the faintest and most miniscule amounts of blood and flesh. They licked the bottom of the bucket, causing the green coloured Source Water inside to bubble even after just a few minutes.
The black coloured gas was soon released from the Nether Wood and started floating up aimlessly into the air. The exact moment Arthur noticed this, he threw in the other two Fae materials. Letting them both enter the Wood Source Water at exactly the same time.
The third ingredient:
Rank 2 Three Coloured Sword Flower.
A large human face-sized flower whose petals were as sharp as mortal swords. The exact colours differentiated from flower to flower, however the all types of this exact variant of sword flower possessed three slightly different colours.
This one.... was wine, rose and ruby coloured.
And the fourth and final ingredient:
Rank 3.... Ira Seed.
Arthur spent quite a pretty penny on this little Fae material. It was only the size of a fingernail, however the price of this particular Fae material, was close to 5,000 origin essence stones. If it was any larger, it would break 6,000 origin essence stones, no problem.
The moment those two Fae materials came into contact with the water, a thick, crimson coloured change appeared in the Wood Source Water.
This was only a Rank 1 Fae material, however changing the colour of Source Water meant changing the qualities of the Source Water. It was still a Wood Attributed Fae material, yet the qualities of the Source Water itself had suddenly undergone a tremendous shift in-.
The black coloured gas that was being released from the Nether Wood suddenly stopped floating upwards, and fell downwards towards the crimson coloured liquid, dying it a much darker colour, as if a black milk being poured into red coloured tea.
Arthur himself stirred the liquid, pushing the head of the Wood Yin Ghost underneath the water, suppressing the burning pain that was coming from his hand.
He kept the Wood Yin Ghost underneath the surface of the water for almost half an hour, before his eyes widened, and he leapt back, activating his Rank 3 Flowering Shield Fae right in front of him.
The image of another green skinned figure was reflected in Arthur's eyes. Despite Verde possessing nothing but green tones to his body, this particular ghost, possessed strangely blazing red hair.
The same colour, as a red maple leaf.
