Chapter 86 - A single thrust

Arthur knew every single Fae that Andrea currently had in her possession.

Her First Origin Fae; Woodpecker Fae.

Her Second Origin Fae; Affection Tree Fae.

After that was flash fae, which she obtained from the Clan Reserves, as well as thorn spear fae, blood petal fae, vine fae, thorn skin fae as well as the one that she most recently acquired, Mangrove Tree Fae.

Andrea chose this fae from the wide selection that Dominic and his group had acquired from their expedition to Falling Snow Famous River, and chose it, after her suggestions were whittled down by one of the Lecture Hall Elders.

Andrea couldn't make full use of this Fae without a large body of water around, but it was still a pretty good defensive control type fae, similar to the Vine Fae, but without any of the offensive attributes.

Andrea knew that Arthur had the halberd fae, which is why he chose to use it over the fae he had shown before.

Not to mention, Andrea hadn't yet fought someone with a longer reaching weapon like a halberd, meaning that she would have to adapt to his moves on the fly.

Arthur, standing on the opposite side of the field, felt the wind gather around his feet, before shooting off his hind leg, his spear raised and pointed directly at Andrea.

His speed exceeded that of Zoya, who was also very familiar with the wind stalker fae, causing the burly young man to raise an eyebrow as he saw Arthur practically flicker across the stage.

Andrea was surprised at Arthur's speed but didn't make much of it as she activated her own thorn spear fae.

The difference between thorn spear and halberd fae wasn't just the difference between Wood Attribute and Metal Attribute, but also in both their weight, length and power.

Spears were much faster, and much more suitable for someone with a more dexterous physique. Halberds were much more useful to those with massive amounts of upper body strength, allowing them to smack or punch through thick defences.

Arthur smirked slightly as he saw Andrea raise her thorn spear, before feeling a slight tingle in the back of his neck.

He made no change in expression as he ceased his forward approach and swung the large halberd around him, cutting through several vines that tried to approach.

His technique caused those who had practiced, or those who specialised in spears, halberds and tridents to go wide eyed.

It may be a halberd, the heaviest of the three, but still, Arthur swung it around his body, rolling over the backs of his hands like it was just a short spear.

The strength behind each of his slashes was much more than they initially anticipated for someone of his stature.

Arthur took several steps back, outside the range of the vine fae, letting the tip of his halberd scrape across the floor as he eyed Andrea.

She returned the gaze with a frosty glare.

"You didn't tell me you were more adept at halberds than swords".

Arthur shrugged his shoulders, giving the girl a small smile as he twirled the large polearm in his hand.

"Well, I can't exactly give you everything. At least, not without getting something in return?".

His mischievous smile caused Andrea to suppress her heart before narrowing her eyes and raising her hands.

Arthur stopped his useless twirling before activating another fae underneath his clothes.

On the palms of Andrea's hands, countless crimson coloured petals gathered, forming a small rotating ball of crimson leaves.

Flinging the ball outwards, it exploded into countless tiny serrated blades of petals. The number of which, had to at least be in the hundreds there were so many.

Arthur lifted his halberd and spun in around in his hands, deflecting any of the bloody petals which were aimed at either his head or his chest.

Some members of the audience wondered why Arthur was willingly giving up his arms in order to protect his chest and head, although concluded that it would be better to protect fatal weak points, rather than his arms.

Although, Randolf could see better.

"He is using some sort of defensive fae to deflect the petals that strike his arms. His jacket is torn to shreds, but there isn't any blood, or even a single mark on his arms....".

Randolf went through the vast library of Fae that he had stored within his A.I.

"It's got to either be a Wood Skin Fae or Metal Skin Fae. At least, that's the only Fae that I have on me right now. Perhaps a Fae that changes the limb or organ to a metal? Not enough information....".

Ratimir and Alina also noticed the distinct lack of any wounds on Arthur's arms. His jacket had been cut quite a number of times, but all they could see was the faint metallic gleam through the bits of jacket they could see.

They shared a glance before shaking their heads.

Arthur already had the combination between moonsword fae and moonslice fae, but now he had halberd fae and this unknown Metal Attribute Fae.

Normally a Fae Master would need to practice with two Fae in order to get one to compliment the other, or at least read about it, and then practice the words they had read.

Arthur, as the son of the Clan Leader definitely had access to such materials, but the speed at which he comprehended martial arts, astounded them both.

Even with the physical prowess of a Fae Master, one still had to ingrain into their body, the techniques to utilise and maximise the abilities of their Fae.

For Arthur, it just seemed natural. As if he had already been doing it for decades.

They sighed, and unconsciously thanked the Heavens for not making him have the same talent, as Randolf or themselves.

If he did, they weren't sure they would ever be able to defeat Arthur.

Andrea frowned, as she too noticed the metallic gleam come from underneath Arthur's clothing.

She narrowed her eyes, before biting her lip.

'If this keeps up, I'll be able to win due to my origin essence sea being larger, and my origin essence regeneration being quicker. But.... I don't won't to win like that! I want to beat Arthur, and show him what I can do!'.

Andrea steeled her resolve and started walking towards Arthur.

Her walk started to turn into a jog, and her jog started to turn into a run.

Due to the advantage that came with possessing one of the Thirty Three Sovereign Boundary Physiques, Andrea could expend as much origin essence as she damn well pleased, without having to worry about it running out.

She wasn't a vapour quartz origin essence Fae Master anymore, and the quality and quantity of her origin essence was much higher than that of her peers.

The young girl sent out another barrage of bloody petals, releasing numerous vines and giant thorns in Arthur's direction.

No-one, perhaps except Randolf noticed the faint flow that appeared around the tip of Arthur's halberd.

Arthur thrust his halberd out, using the power of both the woodpecker fae and the metal arms fae in tandem with each other.

The barrage of thorns, vines and petals in front of him, all collapsed into green coloured shreds as Arthur pushed a wave of silver coloured origin essence towards her.

The girl's eyes widened, and she quickly darted to her right, letting the large thrust of origin essence brush by her, colliding with the tree on the other side of the practice field.

It pierced straight through the tree, causing it to screech loudly as the sound of crackling wood echoed throughout the Lecture Hall.

All eyes, even the eyes of Chensa and the hidden Lecture Hall Elders widened, and their mouths dropped.

Their gazes moved towards Arthur, who flourished his spear, with a calm and collected expression on his face.

The butt of the spear, melodically collided with the stone floor.

He smiled politely.

"I win".
