After the bandits accepted to work for him he told them to bring their families to Darren one by one as people from villages to live in the town. Some of the bandits were from villages so it was not a hard task to be done. Then he told everyone not to give any information of what happened here to anyone.
Danny asked " but why do you not want the people in the town to know about what happened here?"
"If people found out we had killed the bandits then the ones behind the bandits will come to kill us and we will not be able to protect ourselves"
"Why do you think people are behind the bandits?"
" The baron sent many requests for help to the city but we never got a reply. Even if the Duke can't help us he would have sent a reply to the messages. The only possibility is that the messages were intercepted from reaching the Duke. This means someone is helping them within the city."
Just then York returned with his family. He was the last person left from the bandits. So with him all the bandits had arrived with all their families. The people in the families were excited to move to a town as all of them were from villages or a nearby town. They didn't know that their brother or father were bandits so they didn't know what happened previously.
Bandits were seen as the enemies of the Kingdom. The punishment for bandits who were caught by the Duke was death. So everyone saw bandits as the filth of the Kingdom.
Even though the progression of bandits was the only way these people could support their family it was still hard for them to have the family find out about it.
Ethan told them to move to the city in bunches of 4-5 families in the next 2 days.
Then Ethan asked York to meet him after selling his family in the town.
York's family was one of the first ones to go to the town. After York was done with the formalities he went to visit Ethan.
Ethan asked " Who was the one helping you bandits in the city?"
When York heard what Ethan asked he was shocked. He didn't know how Ethan knew about the baron. He told Ethan everything he was told.
Ethan understood that this baron Mule might be thinking of taking over Darren and making it as his base for recruiting people without the Duke's knowledge. This would help him to maintain his strength in the area controlled by hamshire city.
Ethan understood that he needed more information on this world to properly understand the situation he was living in.
He had asked the bandits to move into the town with their family because he knew that with their family in the town they would not be able to disobey him in the future.
Ethan took all the loot of the dead bandits and gave each bandit family 5 silver and told them to report to him 3 days later in the forest outside the town.
3 silver coins should last a family for more than a year. The previous bandit chief gave them 4 silver a year. But Ethan decided that his men should think about living their lives not just surviving.
He planned to pay the bandits well. The 5 silver he gave them was to have them settle down in the town and get residences. He would pay them handsomely based on the amount of work they did.
Ethan then left back to the town with the remaining children. He considered then to be his first accomplices. he gave each of them enough money to repair their houses and live more comfortably.
As Ethan went home he bathed himself. He was thinking about the 130 bandits that were killed today. In his previous life Ethan planned on killing people for revenge but in reality he never killed anyone because his father took care of everything for him.
Ethan never saw anyone for in front of his eyes before. The visual was bound to haunt him and the other children for many days.
When he made the plan he knew it was going to be a success but he didn't think about the lives of the bandits. He had to save the lives of the people in the town.
Killing the bandits was the only way he could have achieved that. So he knew it was bound to have happened.
He had to continue with the work he started. He was mentally stronger than the children so it didn't take him much time to recover from the incident.
He now had to train his people. From York he understood that the bandits were the weakest in the area. The bandit chief would not pay much do the only people who joined him were the ones who were weak or the ones he was close to.
Ethan had to make these people the stronger than any bandits. That was the only way he could achieve something in this life.
The next day the baron was confused to know that more than 80 people had come to his village with the bandits around. When he asked the newly arrived people he was told that there was no one around the town and they came here peacefully.
The baron sent some of his men to check the forest. When the people returned back they reported the baron that there was no enemy in the surroundings. The baron immediately sent the merchants within the city to buy food from the villages and he personally went to the city to talk to the Duke.
Normally a baron had atleast 5000-8000 people as his army. But baron Jost had less than 500 people working under him as the majority of the people died when his father was killed. He was not able to recruit new soldiers as after the death of his father he had to immediately start taking care of the towns transition and then the bandits had started blocking the town merchants and people to move to the city.
Jost had initially sent his army to fight the bandits but eventually he understood that while his people were able to fend them off they were losing people bit by bit till he was left with the last 500. On the other hand the bandits would always recruit new people to fill the gaps.
Then the bandits started blocking the passage to the villages a few months back completely isolating the town. The people in the city didn't know anything and it because the town of Darren didn't have anything unique to trade with the city. So there was no demand for sending merchants to the town. The only trade that was done by the town was done by sending merchants to the city.
There were many merchants who regularly visited the city so there was nothing noteworthy for the people in the city with the absence of Darren's merchants.
3 days later Ethan met with the former bandits and his friends near the forest.
Ethan said " For many years our families have suffered from different kinds of people may it be people of the town or the villages. Bandits have always terrorised us and we were not able to get help from others for one or the other reason. What we need to depend on is not the help of others but to help ourselves. I know that many of you had your families killed or defiled. What I offer you is strength. Strength to protect those near you. Strength to never back down from a fight. Strength to prevent your children going through the same things you did. In exchange I require your unwavering loyalty. Do you want the strength. Are you ready to be loyal to me!!!"
Ethan started the speech as normal taking but in the end he told the words in a commanding tone making all the people in front of him to Marvel at an 8 year old boy having such a commanding aura.
York and the other bandits accepted to Ethan's proposal. They were not sure how Ethan could make them strong. But they knew that he was intelligent enough to take down over 100 bandits with a bunch of kids so he was no ordinary boy.
The other boys were already in awe at Ethan being able to defeat the bandits so easily. They accepted to Ethan's proposal as well.
Ethan said " We will be known as the ' insurgents' and we are here to change the world for the better."
And that's how the a seemingly unknown group was born which would change the fate of the world forever.
