I had my puppet roll the corpse cart up the ramp and into the ship, once we were on board the entrance began to close slowly. I heard the rapid footfalls before the pirate rounded the corner.
He saw me and sprinted towards me while he tried to gasp out a warning before he could yell out his last words a dagger materialized from thin air and was thrust into his neck.
His hands reached out towards the dagger and found purchase on something while he choked on his own blood, the dagger twisted before it was yanked out of the dying man. With fear in his eyes he looked at me in a silent plea for help, as I walked past him I had my puppet stomp on his throat.
A loud snap came from his neck while blood splashed up the leg of my puppet.
Hextia shimmered into view and stood in front of the puppet, I had the puppet lift me from the coat pocket, I had only been out for a few moments before I heard Hextia squeal in delight and lifted me up.
"-Master! You are soooooo adorable!-"
'Great, first I looked like a girl and now I'm adorable.' I thought bitterly to myself, 'Why could I not look vicious!?'
She placed me against her breast and started walking towards the bridge, we passed a dozen bloody corpses with their throats cut, when we arrived at the lab I saw two pirates strapped down and unconscious. Probably sedated so I could question them later.
After entering the bridge Hextia sat in my chair so I could see the monitors, for now, it would seem our escape had gone unnoticed. A light started blinking to my left before a message began to play, it was the creepy bastard who had gouged out my eyes!
His soft and creepy voice came over the speaker, "The is captain Ulrus with a report for Admiral Graves, the young avarith is dead along with his stepbrother while his adopted sister is currently recovering from her last session. We are headed back to HQ and will be there within two months."
If I had eyebrows they would have hit the ceiling, she was adopted and the report ended but attached were two video files, I would watch them once we had made our escape.
"Alright Hextia, get us off this fucking ship."
"-Yes master!-"
The Moonshadow came to life with a roar of her powerful engines. The weapons system came online and targeted the bay doors, an opening salvo ripped the doors open. Bright red lighting and warning sirens began to sound off, I activated my explosive bunnies and the ship shook violently.
Hextia unleashed a barrage of cannon fire into the walls as the Moonshadow rose and made for the bay doors. Defensive turrets swiveled in our direction but they were a light caliber and would take quite some time to do any true damage, though they were destroyed within moments of firing at us.
The violent vacuum of space pulled anything not tied or bolted down right out of the gaping hole in the bay door, pirates screamed as they were jettisoned into the abyss. One of the pirates slammed into the side of the jagged breach and turned into a puddle of gore before what remained of his body was sucked out, I wasn't sure if he were lucky or not.
Hextia released another salvo and doubled the size of the hole so it would be easier for us to fit, the pirate ship shook again. My bunnies must have caused a chain reaction somewhere down the line and this pirate ship wouldn't be here for much longer.
We reached the hole and sped through it, the monitors showed a bright corridor of light surrounding the ship as we passed through. Hextia was still unleashing mayhem when she let out a small gasp.
Her voice sounded intrigued, "-Master, we are moving at two thirds the speed of light!-"
'This shouldn't be possible' I looked in awe at the screens. It was truly beautiful, the corridor of light would be solid one moment and in a flash, you would see what lay beyond and in the next a wall of light would return to captivate your senses.
A shockwave came from behind us and thrust us into open space, Moonshadow shuddered as we were ejected from sub lightspeed and we fell towards the wall of light. The wall vanished and we passed through into an unknown galaxy, we were spinning away at a ridiculous angle, I could hear the ship groaning in protest.
Hextia fought for control and leveled out the ship, ahead of us was a blue and brown planet. To our current right were 5 tiny white stars, though they were small by a stars standard, they were still hundreds of times bigger than the planet we were drifting towards.
An image popped up on the screen, the pirate's ship came into focus, our rear-facing cameras had captured the moment when it erupted into a raging inferno.
I sat back into Hextia and relaxed. My torturer and murderer was dead along with his crew, I had rescued my adopted sister, and I escaped. All good things, of course, I was captured, tortured, drugged, starved, and murdered. At least I was now considered dead and would need to look over my shoulder, of course, my parents didn't know I was still alive either.
I hope they don't do anything reckless.
We would be close enough to orbit the planet in 15 hours giving me enough time to inspect myself and check on my adopted sister, that was still a surprise, I had never met her before though I wouldn't know how she would react to me now. Especially after all that, she had to endure.
I walked into the lab, the pirates were still tied down, across from them was my adopted sister Indra. Why had my parents kept that a secret from me, the pirates knew about it so it must not have been a very well hidden secret?
I would have to find out from Indra once she was awake.
I had Hextia put me on the floor so I could bring my tiny spider army out from my spacial pouch, I needed to figure out everything they could do. Hell, I needed to figure out what I could do, I walked in front of the mirror to examine myself.
A tiny black robotic body stared back at me, two golden lines for eyes, there were no other defining facial features. My arms were thin sling with the rest of my body's design being sleek, my torso was broader along the top but quickly turned into an impossible waistline.
I was like a robotic toy made for children. A scary toy but a toy, all the same, I stuffed my insecurities deep down so I wouldn't be distracted and began to release my tiny spider army.
The spiders kept pouring out until thousands of them were spread out around me, there were only a few hundred when I had stored them away before, could they reproduce?
Probably not in the traditional sense as there would be tiny metal spider corpses in my spacial pouch, I checked through it and there was nothing there. I looked at the spiders in wonder at how they had the resources or energy to reproduce such a vast amount of bodies.
I looked back through my spacial pouch, none of my puppets were missing, the bunnies were not touched either. The only thing missing was the weapon my father had bought me before he left.
I glared at the spiders, "Spit it out!", I screamed at the tiny gluttons, my voice sounded like it came from a synthesizer.
The spiders huddled together and lowered their head like a puppy who was being yelled at, I tried calming down but I was livid at the loss of my weapon. I sat on the floor and placed my hand on the spacial pouch, luckily it wasn't made of metal or they might have eaten that as well.
I let out an internal sigh, it was just an object, I would miss it but if I reunited with my father and mother then it wouldn't matter if I had a plethora of weapons, as long as they were alright I would be fine with having nothing.
Skittering sounds of the spiders moving about brought me out of my thoughts, I turned to see them lining up together into neat rows. As they climbed over one another they began to form layers that began to liquify.
A few moments passed and the last of the spiders disappeared, my staff was laid out on the ground without a blemish. I could see the entirety of my staff inside and out, all the hidden mechanisms were now easily noticeable. The umbrella had an attack where it would launch thousands of needles in a varied range of cone shaped fields of fire.
As far as I could tell there wasn't anything else hidden within the design but having another means of attack would always be welcome.
Looking at the weapon I thought of my arachnids and the staff became a pool of liquid metal, and out of the pool tiny spiders slowly rose and walked to me. I pet one on the head and looked about the room, doing experiments with this tiny form was going to be difficult.
While I was distracted two spiders pressed against me and once more turned into a liquid state and were absorbed by me. My body felt sturdier and I didn't feel quite as bloated as before, I took a quick look in the mirror but I was still about 7 inches tall.
I had the spider merge with one another till there were only a hundred left, each one about a foot in length, now that they were much larger they were kind of scary looking. I rode one of them about the lab as I unloaded the fuel from the pirate ship I had stolen, this would last my own ship several decades of continuous use.
I stopped as I put the last crystal on the floor, I would have to disguise my ship, otherwise, if someone reported my ship flying about the pirates would be on me again.
Changing the name wouldn't be too difficult, just forge a few documents and erase any trace of the original manufacturer. Though doing that could be counted as illegal in some solar systems, it would be fine as long as we didn't go causing trouble.
We spent the next several hours going through the logs in the ship's systems wiping anything that could be linked back to me or my family.
"-We have arrived in the foreign planets orbit Master!-" Hextias cheerful voice came just as I renamed the ship, Harbor Princess, was the name I had chosen and I pressed the confirmation and closed my terminal.
The planet was coming into view and there was landmass everywhere, it was only slightly smaller than my home world. We let the ship run through a multitude of scans to determine if there were high density population areas.
A few green squares overlaid onto the screen indicating the most likely candidates for possible cities, the largest of which would have us pass three others but the size of the city wasn't too relevant for now.
"-Master. There is an energy signature in close proximity to the ship but I'm having trouble locking onto it, aha! I have them.-"
The screens moved over to an empty field close to our orbit but nothing was there.
"Are you sure Hextia? I don't see anything out there." I said skeptically, not that she was wrong but the only thing on the scans was ambient energy.
"-There definitely is-" before she finished her sentence a bright light was emitted from where the ambient energy had been. I saw a wave of bright red light slam into our ship, all of the screens went black and the emergency lighting came on a moment later.
We were floating in space without power.
"Hextia are you alright?" I had felt her shake when the light washed over the ship.
"-I am alright master, when the power was overloaded it rushed into my clone, my other half is trying to overcome the rush of energy and use it to increase the strength of our mind. The ship is currently in a gravity well and we are heading toward the planet's surface.-"
