As Aki looked through the notifications and couldn't help but be surprised at the ease at which he had won agaisnt the chosen on the other side.
"Fetch more hidrogen bombs and get the nuclear ones too if they start running low on stock." Not falling for the ilussion for even a second, Aki kept carpet bombing the other side of the rift he held open with his own body. If there was a Chosen on the other side he'd already have shown themselves or he'd get something from claiming first blood.
Several mages and archers took potshots at him from the distance, but he striked all projectiles coming with his newly developed 'divine sense', which was actually kilometers long thanks to his heavily modified support arts on telekinesys and detection.
With the amount of time spent standing by the rift, basically no one was able to run from his terraforming efforts, all thanks to his upgraded space affinity having several times it's previous effects. The thing didn't really turn into something on the lines of 'Heavenly spacial domination' or the like, it'd just been writen diffenrently while staying the same. (For simplification i will be showing those with a star on the side when they appear.)
"Are you sure, those things look pretty beat up already." Asked the armored Minthy, already having sent the request for more bombs.
"Not gonna use them here, there's plenty of forests in the distance and they will burn nicely. These flying buggers won't be able to integrate into human society from what i'm getting out of their minds. Seriously makes me think them more similar to imps than fairies or any fae really. Some of their more depraved ones are into angel sex even!" He exlaimed, mind rapping yet another hand sized humanoid with insectoid wings and antenae so as to find their hidden forces.
"Wow. I mean, i'm all up for some tentacle play and soul stuff, but that's a bit much even for extremely depressed me." She pointed out, suddenly a lot more grossed out by the pile of corpses standing at Aki's feet.
"There's also the fact that there appears to be a race of elves they use as premium foodstuff, so i'll need to go inside and genocide the species out of existence so we can start ussing their planet instead of just remotely bombarding them like this. Wouldn't want one of my orbital bombardments to kill a whole sentient species i know nothing about." He pointed out. Humans were definetly not as tasty, but the elves reproduction was simply too slow and rare in comparison, so the faeries would definetly be interested.
While even the most focused ritual and formation specialists listening in were unconfortable with what they were hearing, they couldn't help but wonder what actually was 'angel sex' and what would have happened to humanity if even one of those fairies passed the portal unnoticed. The Amazon was way too vast a territory for them to actually map and guard when they had the rest of the world to worry about, so if not for the coordinates their chosen had gotten they'd be royally screwed if the army on the other side was allowed to cross.
Oh, they were all tiny and cute alright, but they were all cultivators as well, nevermind they also had tanks, golems and gigantic constructs holding what was definetly a biological weapon.
While it was hard to say they all deserved whatever was making them scream in pure despair and agony as they died, the ones that professesed their sudden disgust and regret for the things they previously enjoyed as 'hobbies' were not painting a good image at all!
"Well, there's a reason I chose to come to this place and open the tear ahead of time. I'll be back when it's time to start connecting the planes." Aki said with a smile, seeing that the portal stabilization had been completed and jumping forward and imediatly breaking into mach 1 after winking at Minthy.
Seeing that her 'warden' had disappeared from sight, the Naiad sighed and took some ear pods out.
Earth had greatly surpassed any civilization on a similar stage when it came to entertainment if nothing else.
"Will he be alright alone?" Questioned one of the ritual goers. She didn't really consider that important enough to answer, so she just turned back and went towards the teleport.
Did she want to date Aki?
Yes, probably.
He was direct on saying the possibility was there, but he also agreed with her on the fact she was extremely likely to self sabotage. Even making sure she understood that it was something he wanted her to change so she could have the love she deserved, but that he'd accept her even if she never did.
It was no surprise to her that the man almost died from the amount of profound truths he'd comprehended. When he advanced, he'd done it out of orbit and she was made to keep him in line with the planet's rotation. It was the right decision.
While the sheer amount of energy he'd ussed was so absurd it literraly killed him four times over, he aparently had several enchantments that kept regenerating his body after it's functions stopped and yet more for keeping the energy flow, that was mainly because he had fucking 22 concepts forming together with his martial soul plus whatever the fuck were those gostly figures seemingly protecting it while maintaining a thousand yard stare coupled with light cyan glow.
Maybe the fact the soul realm was already huge an yet kept growing would have also killed him if not for some abilities his affinities granted, but that still didn't much help with the fact the place was practically a functioning realm in and of itself. It was surprisingly similar to Hades' divine space from back then, if more receptive.
She'd even been worried when his very essence started crumbling, not even gods could survive that, nevermind mortals. Her biggest regret was still having her head on his lap when it suddenly stopped, crying and sobbing for him to not leave her. He'd just smiled it off and smothered her with attention until she slept in exaustion in his arms. Granted, it'd not taken long, but it was most certainly up there on the list of most embarassing moments of her life.
His comments on her true form when she got up then...
She was happy he survived, but maybe now wasn't the best... 'No, i'm finishing my thoughts, they're mine and i command them' Breathing deeply, she got up and decided maybe it would be nice to read that guide he left for the sect. She'd heard it was 'surprisingly' just filled with inspirational sentences and nuggets of wisdom.
Oppening the first page of a book she'd asked for, it was a surprising turn of events for her too, but she could not care enough to intimidate or crush someone for their and just went to the unescessarily huge library, she saw that instead of an introduction or anything normal, there was just a sentence written on bold cursive.
'THAT WHICH DOES NOT KILL ME HAS MADE A TACTICAL ERROR.'
The 'letters', were actually runes, made so as to give the reader a deeper understanding that this was something important, that they should remenber no matter what, while at the same time allowing anyone to read the english words. She allowed the feeling to settle in, even if just for now.
Chapter 1: Day to day.
Now that you have joined or infiltrated this sect, you will find out that this place takes out a lot of your soul and personality, turning it into something that will better serve the people, and if you are lucky, yourself.
Failure is not an option anymore, it is mandatory. Only by growing and learning will a cultivator ever have the hope of reaching higher stages, and it is only through mistakes that people reach the nescessary wisdom for such.
If you're a full blown genius, then great, go to the next stage and fail as well until you can master it enough to believe yourselve able to do it perfectly, fail a bit more and then you keep going. In the more likely case that you are not a genius, fail, pay attention, ask for help, run for your life, have bad ideas, whatever it takes. We are always on a time table, that does not mean you can just give up by throwing yourselve away to stupidity, despair or anything else. Doing your best in times of crisis is the bare minimun, because life will never go well for someone that stops at their own limits.
'... Not what i expected him to say to a bunch of normal humans, but then again, when as he ever said something normal to me? Yeah, maybe checking the index for a more...'
Chapter 5: meditation and self reflection.
I know people think cultivation has to have you seated and doing nothing, but truth be told i don't think i'd be able to ever do something like that for more than an hour a day myself, so it is not something i can recomend or speak about.
Instead, i tend to just push my body the maximum i can, running my energy through it and being sure that i keep my concentration on my mantra at the same time. It took time, but after a certain level of familiarity it actually came quite naturally.
Ussing ourselves as measurements for the universe arround us is a terrible idea, but also the only way to understand the comcepts that would allow mortals to do something else. One quick way to avoid that is understanding yourself. I don't mean the likes of your natural affinity, talent, beauty or tastes, i mean all that makes you, yourself, not the person by your side, not anyone else.
All snow flakes are special, but that also makes them extreme similar to the eyes of the unkowing, the same applies to people. While you should never undersestimate yourself, it is also nescessary to understand those around you. A throne needs those who kneel, a god needs only itself, it is all bullshit that does not have practical use. Society is a reality, you will need it even if you are powerfull enough to detach yourself from it.
Being special is not special, neither is being rare something rare, so one should never allow themselves to forget to look up. Even if you see nothing, that may be because you are simply too small, physics works pretty much like that.
You are special, but so are others. No one is diferent, so the others have nothing above you. One should always keep a steep balance between their ego and their actions. Keeping notion of your own goals is generally a good way to start with that, and finding those is completly nescessary for the start of the journey.
'Well, there it is. You'd normally need to take in a lot more than just five chapters on a book writen by a cultivator for some kind of revelation, but i guess if someone would see the point of forgoing being a criptic ass that speaks in flowery language it'd be him.' She nodded at her own understanding, realising she'd actually only been reading for ten minutes. The 'booklet', was some hundred odd pages long, though with small writting, but it seemed like his writting would also not help with her stalling.
'What is my goal, what do i wish for?' She reflected, ussing the book's various enchantments and subliminal messages to help dirrect her to the answer, but after three hours of looking into space with utter focus and not one breath, she noticed the enchantments had long expired and yet she'd not reached any sort of conclusion.
Looking at the book again with a bit of inpatience and despair that she'd never go through because of her inner demons...
'... Ps, if you are reading this with great indecision inside of you, note that there is no such thing as a inner demon that is stronger than a cultivator, literraly, they're just a part of you, and while self hatred to harmfull degrees are clearly a terrible thing with which you should look for help to deal with, they are also great reminders about what actually bother you. Summarizing, suck it up, listen to your haters and use everything at your disposition to make a better 'you'. I will not be easy as the idea of it, of course, but it is that, wailing in despair for the rest of your existence or waiting for that special moment where you suddenly have something much bigger that all of your sadness to guide you towards betterment. Mine were love, judging and growth itself, by the way. If he isn't a clairvoyant propeth i don't think there ever will be one damn it.' She left after reading the last note, of the chapter, which was heavily enchanted.
'Do it now.'
