[I welcome thee to join in an opportunity to experience what you wished you could have but never have, but be warned, this gift comes with a price. One which may break your bones and body and spirit. Do you still wish to continue?]

[Yes]

[Welcome to the Capture System!]

...

A never-ending barrage of notification sounds rung in her ears. Noisy beyond what she has ever heard before. A sound she had not been expecting as a dead person. Was it because she had pushed [Yes] on the randomly floating white screen when engulfed in the dark coldness associated with death. She was unsure, just like how she was unsure of her current situation.

She was floating in a space seemingly devoid of gravity, a box that seemed to go on into infinity yet finite enough to tell that she was in fact, enclosed in a square space. The space was bright, and all corners and walls were engulfed in a blinding white. She could vaguely see a screen and hear the flood of messages and can only assume some sort of whale came along and bought out an entire month's worth of these diamonds. She did not know what they did, nor what it was meant to be used for. She really had no idea what anything was. Her only introduction had been the first message she saw. Everything else, well this included, felt like a distant dream.

After whom knows how long, the notifications finally ceased. Relief was short-lived as she felt a shaking of the space, and watch with horror as a gray, faintly outlined, and gigantic figure appeared above her. The figure seemed to cover the sky and blocked half of the light the space produced. She couldn't move and could only look at the figure with half a point of weariness and another half point of terror.

[Ding! Attributes Changed!]

Almost as soon as the notifications came in, she felt a burning heat in her body and couldn't even force out a scream as her body's bones and muscles forcefully mutated.

[Ding! Attributes Changed!]

[Ding! Attributes Changed!]

[Ding! Attributes Changed!]

[Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!....]

The sound flooded her ears, and she felt as if the pain would knock her unconscious, but unfortunately, somehow, she remained fully conscious during this ordeal.

Soon, there was a short pause to the messages and the pain was slightly fading but as soon as she let out a sigh of relief another swarm of notifications appeared.

[Ding! Skill Acquired!]

[Ding! Skill Acquired!]

[Ding! Skill Acquired!]

This time, rather than physical pain, she felt enormous mental anguish. It felt as if her head was splitting apart and someone was stuffing something into her mind, her body again heated up and the double torment of mind and body left her praying for it to stop.

[Ding! Attributes locked! The host will be unable to change any of their attributes again! The player will also be unable to remove this lock, are you still willing to proceed?]

[Yes]

This time, it was not her who pushed the button, but exhausted as she was, she was unwilling to think about who did, much less what it meant. If she had known earlier though, she would have fought to hit the [No] button with all her life. But there was no telling the future and there is no regretting the past.

They made sure of it.

After all, she can only belong to them. Only them.
