Chapter 4 - Modern School 3

It was safe to say that the campus was expansive and beautifully taken care of. There were large expanses of greenery that were in the process of turning color with the season. The warmth of the leaves contrasted sharply with the white and gray buildings yet created a rather harmonious view. Since it was the day before classes officially started, hundreds of students were mingling in the lawn playing games or interacting with the tents that were set up. Despite being a prestigious university, it was very similar to her experience back before her unknown death.

Rowan was in front, leading her through and introducing the various buildings. With the face value of the two people, they were naturally the center of attention wherever the two went. Rowan seemed at ease with the glances, but [N] felt slightly embarrassed. They soon arrived at the center and heart of the campus where the art buildings were.

"Since most of your classes are in the arts, most of your buildings and time will likely be spent around here. Up there in the center," Rowan pointed a large, rounded building that sat at the head of the buildings, "is the S University Theatre, it is where most of the big events are held and also where the upcoming freshman talent show will take place. On the sides are two of the libraries as well as the wellness center, the offices, and the art buildings. The science buildings are further down the path to the left while business related classes are to the right with the culture related courses behind the theatre."

Rowan continued the tour into the buildings, sometimes greeting other students he recognized, and [N] followed, appreciating the architecture and art of the buildings as well as the friendliness of one her targets. Though she wasn't confident in her abilities to interact with other, especially those from the opposite sex, she felt herself enjoying her time with Rowan. He was good at speaking, effortlessly drawing in attention and she was good at listening. Her doe eyes would earnestly look at only him as she took in every word he said.

"Rowan," A warm voice rung out from behind them, it was not loud, but it drew the attention of all the students nearby. Two tall figures walked side by side. None of the two were lacking in the looks department and were easily on par with Rowan and each with their own charm. The one on the left was a male with curly brown hair that gently draped over his emerald eyes while the one on the right had sharp, cold features. His black hair was combed back neatly and his equally dark eyes swept the area indifferently. It was the one on the left who had called to Rowan.

"What are you two doing here?" Rowan asked as he slung his arm over the brown-haired male's shoulder in greeting to which caused his gentle brows furrowed a bit. The stern looking male ignored the two's antics and instead casted his eyes onto her yet did not say anything.

"We were about to go to the Theatre to help with the registration of the upcoming talent show," the brunette replied before eyes then shifted to [N], his emerald eyes narrowing. "And who is this young lady?"

Rowan, as if suddenly remembering her presence turned to her, "These are my two friends and fellow student council members. In fact, this mean looking dude," he gestured to the one who had been silently staring at her, "is the student council president, Xaiver and this dude is Carlos, the vice president." He then turned to his friends, "And she is [N], an incoming freshman who just arrived. I was showing her around the campus."

At her introduction, [N] slightly bowed her head in greeting and gave them a gentile smile.

Carlos responded with a smile while Xavier simply looked away without much of a word and spoke to Rowan instead. "You also need to come with us to the Theatre, it's likely that we'll need the extra assistance."

At this, [N] hesitated for a moment before she raised a question. "Is the registration for the talent show at the Theatre?" The three men's eyes simultaneously landed on her.

"Yes, do you plan to register?" Carlos asked and [N] nodded in response.

"That means we can go to the Theatre together!" Rowan cheerfully said. Once again, Xavier did not speak, showing neither rejection nor acceptance. Rowan didn't mind much and instead laughed cheerfully, showing off his pair of dimples. "Well then, let's get going."

While the three led the way, [N] was awkwardly walking at the center of the trio when a screen appeared.

[Name: Xavier Eil

Age: 21

Description: The President of the Student Council a person who seems very cold and indifferent, capturing him seems quite difficult. Wishing the host the best of luck.

While she wasn't too surprised, with how their looks easy matched that of Rowan, she didn't expect the message to pop up so suddenly making her pause. The abrupt stop caused Rowan, who was walking slightly behind her, bump into her.

"Ah, I'm sorry," [N] quickly apologized. Rowan smiled, no anger present in his eyes, instead he slung his arm around her shoulder causing [N] to pause.

While it was true that they had gotten along well these last two-ish hours, doesn't mean she felt that they were close enough for such intimate actions, but Rowan paid no mind and not wanting the two people in front to keep looking at her, especially Xavier, whose eyes held scrutiny. She quickly signaled that she was fine and they group continued to the Theatre.
