The world seemed to stand still while Okuri and Nitatsu stared at each other. It was fate foretold in the prophecy that brought these two friends back together. As the leaves slowly fall to the ground. Birds flying over head and the calm wind dancing around the area. Seemingly at the same time the two dash at each other. Instantaneously, Okuri and Nitatsu surge with power. The amount of magic coming from them broke the Earth. As Nitatsu appears from behind, casting his Special magic in an unrelenting manner leaving behind what looked like small black holes. Okuri discharges powerful lightning with enough energy to neutralize the attacks, leaving behind a lightning field. Nitatsu and Okuri look at each other in utter shock and amazement that the other was able to keep one at bay. Liam, a small time thief, stood in the background of the fight looking awestruck at the sheer power that the two were emitting alone. Fearful to even get close to the fight as he may be obliterated if he got in the vicinity of the power radiating from them. It's clear to see that these two mages, one with the rarest magic to exist. Being deemed "Touch by the Gods" , freezing the surrounding area. The leaves falling from the trees, birds flying by, and the once dancing wind all were now frozen in mid-air. This was truly the magic of the Gods. The other with the power of energy that every living creature fears. Lightning from the heaven to the earth crackles around him distorting the atmosphere giving off the smell of Ozone. Having been blessed by the last remaining sage on plant Nilam, Okuri is a wielder of lightning magic and Nitatsu a wielder of 4th dimension magic. The power of these two shook and crumbled the ground they stood upon. Being the only person to be witnessing this show of power, Liam who ran off in fear for his life, has now jumped on a tree that seemed to be at a far enough distance but even at that distance he could still feel the power radiating from them. At that very moment, trembling on the tree in the distance he pondered to himself if he'd really die without feeling the embrace of a woman.
Liam in the distance thinks of a way that he can keep the fight from proceeding any further but comes up with a blank. In his mind he knew that he had to end the fight, well for the reason of his own survival that is. So in that moment all he thought was to yell and direct their attention to him instead of each other.
Liam yells to Nitatsu, "Hey Nitatsu I get that the guy stole your thunder on getting some of that "thank you for saving me ass" from that bar waitress and all but for fuck sake is it really worth taking out all the land around us".
Nitatsu and Okuri froze in place but not for the same reason, while Nitatsu was checking out the area that looked like a meteor had touched down, Okuri was staring at Nitatsu with wide eyes like he had realized something very important about him.
Okuri speaking faintly under his breath says "Nitatsu" in a low whisper as if the name was very familiar to him.
Hearing Okuri say his name, Nitatsu looks at him as if suddenly bored due to the pressure of the battle being lost.
Nitatsu looks at Liam and yells to him, "Yeah you're right he's not worth it, let's get going".
With that Nitatsu and Liam begin to walk away towards the next town but are stopped by Okuri voice yelling after them, "Nitatsu Sampuru!?!"
That caught Nitatsu's attention instantly, what Okuri had just said was Nitatsu's full name, nobody alive knew this name, not even Liam. It was easier this way because Nitatsu had come from a well-known family that were wiped out in Abilene. Nitatsu, finally coming to a realization that there was only one person alive that actually knew his name and that was none other than his best friend from when he was younger.
Nitatsu turned around slowly and looked at Okuri as if it was his first time seeing him and said the name "Okurimono Ichikawa?"
Okuri and Nitatsu looked at each other with surprise written on their faces at the sight of the best friend they haven't seen in 5 years….
