On the border of the Yahvinian mountains and the Archadian plains lie the wealthy trading district of Abilene. In the district the nobles are the protectors of the people, in the nobles faction the highest ranked is the Sampuru family. The Sampuru's are part of a bloodline that has the rare magic of controlling either space or time. Ars Sampuru has the magic affinity to use time manipulation magic that makes him seem like he is moving at high speeds but is really moving in and out of time in bursts. While Ars was doing his sweep of the district, a trader named Adus that was scheduled for travel to Cadia was back earlier than scheduled, seeming distressed and panicking.
Adus ran to Ars in a frantic state and reported,
"Sir Ars the village of Cadia was attacked, I am unsure of the number or by whom but the village of Cadia was surely set ablaze from what I have seen at the top of the mountain. Surely we need to bolster our defences."
Ars looking confused tries to calm the frightened Adus,
"Adus calm down, I will take your word and bolster the district's defences but there is no need to worry for I am here to keep us all safe."
Adus's nerves calm from Ars's confident demeanor,
"Thank you Sir Ars I'm sure we will be more than safe with your protection."
Early that day,
"Good morning Master Nitatsu, it's time for your etiquette studies with the tutor in the great room."
An eight year old boy changing into loose fitted outdoor clothes has dual toned dark red and black colored hair and azure blue eyes, looks at the butler with a sarcastic smile,
"Gerald, does it look like I care about etiquette lessons… there is nothing that hag can teach me that I don't already know."
"But Master Nitatsu, these are orders that I have received from your father, I must ask that you stay and take the lessons." Gerald asked pleadingly.
"My father is probably out up to his normal shenanigans making a complete ass of himself. So Gerald I would like you to leave and find the fucks that I give and I promise, you won't find any."
With that Nitatsu put on his jacket and left the room. Realizing he was a bit harsh on the man who has been with him since birth, he decided to apologize later when he returns. Nitatsu just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Running around the district Nitatsu picked up his friends to go play in the woods by the mountains. Finally assembling his trio of friends Sakura, Konan, and Levi they all start heading towards the wood line. On the way there they run into Nitatsu's father, Ars Sampuru. He has the same color hair and eyes that Nitatsu has.
"Haha Son, what are you doing out here? Aren't you supposed to be studying at home?" Ars spoke joyfully even though he skipped his lesson.
Nitatsu's father has been this way since his wife died giving childbirth eight-years-ago. Trying to bring Nitatsu's spirits up as well himself. He always had a smile on his face around Nitatsu, what Ars doesn't know is that it angers Nitatsu because it feels like he is always pretending to be happy in his presence. Which also made it feel like it was his fault his mother died. Nitatsu never knew his mother but his father would speak of her all the time about her kind and soothing personality. After a while he stopped wanting to hear about his mother because he couldn't feel the same loss as his father.
"There is no point in me going to those lessons anymore. I already know everything, It's a waste of time for me to go to something I learn nothing from."
"Ahhh I see now" Ars rubs his chin like he just solved some mystery, "You are into one of these girls right, a little double dating huh.. hahah" he says while grabbing Nitatsu and Levi laughing wholeheartedly.
"Dad, let us go, we are just going to hang out and play, nothing like that." Nitatsu says, looking embarrassed.
"Alright.. Alright, you kids have fun and don't go to the woods stay in the district"
"Alright" Nitatsu says looking relieved that he's been released
After confirmation from Ntatsu he left looking satisfied.
Seeing that his father went around the corner and out of sight he hurried his friend out the district and out to the woods. Making it into the woods they play rock, paper, scissors to see who's the seeker in hide and seek, Nitatsu being the loser. Nitatsu started counting down from 100 to zero.
"Ready or not here I come!" Nitatsu yells once he reached zero
His first move was not to dash in any direction but to think of the ways his friends would go. Levi and Konan always tried climbing stuff or hiding in thick vegetation. Meanwhile Sakura tries going off far in the distance but doesn't find an elaborate place to hide, believing the closer one is the easier to find. Nitatsu decides to go after Sakura first, once she is found he'll start the hunt for the others. Searching the area for a few minutes, Nitatsu saw something that looked to be a sleeve to a shirt he remembered Sakura was wearing. Nitatsu started to concentrate on silencing his footsteps and creeped up to where Sakura was hiding. When he jumped out he was shocked to find Sakura in a ball crying and shaking at the base of a tree. Once Sakura realized that Nitatsu found her she cried out in a panic,
"WE HAVE TO GO NOW!"
Confused by the scared look on Sakura's face Nitatsu questioned
"Are you alright Sakura. Did something happen to you?"
"They're coming, they're coming" said Sakura in a terrified whisper "We'll be dead if we stay here Nitatsu!" she exclaimed, pulling Nitatsu in the town's direction.
"Wait a second, Just hold on Sakura. Who is com… ing…"
In an instant a demon with a large bearing axe comes from behind Sakura and swings with a fast movement chopping off her head. However, though the demon had a powerful swing the axe was not sharp resulting in an unclean and ugly beheading getting blood everywhere. As the demon was laughing, getting covered in Sakura's blood, Nitatsu looking absolutely stunned needed to get out of there if he had any chance to survive, he jumps back and starts to head towards his village screaming his friends names to get out.
"Konan… Levi… get out of the woods NOW!!!"
As he was approaching the clearing he stopped after hearing the voice of Levi screaming out in pain. Desperate to save his friend, Nitatsu rushes off back into the woods towards the direction of his voice. When Nitatsu approached the site where Levi was, he hid behind a tree to see what was going on and what he saw horrified him. Not only Levi but Konan too were both tied to each other's backs facing out. It looked like they were surrounded but humans, not the demon that killed Sakura. Nitatsu notices Levi's femoral bone split into two and Konan was there with a traumatized expression staring blanking into the distance, fear petrifying her from screaming or talking. As the humans approached their prey two pairs of them had a large stick in their hands that looked recently carved, coming from each side of Konan and Levi.
Giving Nitatsu no chance to think of a plan to save his friends, the pair on Levi's side without a hint of hesitation thrust the stick into his abdomen all the way through Konan's abdomen. The two screamed in pain and as to silence the annoyance the pair on Konan's wasted no time thrusting their stick through hers and Levi's throats leaving only muffled gurgling of blood from them. Trembling with rage and tears bellowing down his face from watching the scene of his friends being brutally murdered, Nitatsu charges after the people who killed his friends. Seeing him running in, they easily threw Nitatsu to the ground. Ready for the end and being reunited with his friends, the people prepared to pounce on Nitatsu. Fearful of what is about to happen he closes his eyes and waits for the worst. However it doesn't come, and then he hears his dad's voice yelling at him.
"Son, what are you doing out here!?!" While yelling that he suddenly vanished then appeared in front of Nitatsu, decapitating the four closest people who were about to get to Nitatsu. Then as he did earlier Ars vanished and appeared 15 feet away, then a few seconds later from the people between the distance, blood filled the sky as heads and bodies fell to the ground. Ars looked back at Nitatsu with a face contorted with relief, anger, and fatigue.
"Son, I told you not to come out here for reasons exactly like this, what would have happened if I haven't gotten here on t…"
Suddenly as Ars was talking a small hand shot out of Ars's mouth and his eye became dark and cold, like the life was suddenly forced from his body. As if the hand was the only thing hold Ars up, the hand left his mouth having his lifeless body fall to the ground.
A woman with a terrifyingly sadistic smile stood there cleaning blood off her hand. The very hand that was recently sticking out of Ars's mouth. The woman in front of Nitatsu was shockingly beautiful with ashen hair and crimson red eyes. While wiping her hand off now with a bored look the women spoke,
"Now that was just too quick, seems that every human I find is weaker than the last"
Not long after saying that the demon from earlier that decapitated Sakura earlier walked up stopping behind the women, then stood up straight as one would do to show respect and said,
"Lady Lilith, it seems there's a survivor over there under the tree" pointing over in the direction of Nitatsu
"I already know that. Must I acknowledge every bug that I can crush beneath my foot?" Lilith says, still looking bored.
"Of course not my lady, shall I remove this eye sore?" Said the demon waiting in anticipation.
"Do as you wish." Lilith said in a calm voice.
While the demon and Lilith were speaking Nitatsu's emotions of Panic, Anger, Sorrow, confusion all seemed to build up in him. Suddenly as if a dam crumbled and let all the water out, all of Nitatsu's emotions came flooding out. Nitatsu screamed with frustration. The surrounding area became cold, slowing down, and suddenly Nitatsu vanished in thin air.
The demon that was walking toward Nitatsu looked in confusion about how his prey could have just vanished without a trace.
"My Lady, it seems that the boy has some power I can't explain." The demon told Lilith with a hint of fear that he'll be tortured and killed for his failure but Lilith looked at the spot in amusement.
"This was out of your control. Seems that boy has an amusing gift." Lilith looked entranced at the spot where Nitatsu was let show a face of excitement from the fun he may bring in the future.
Nitatsu looked around confused about where he was. Nitatsu saw the district walls and had a feeling of relief, but had a sudden realization that it was night. A second ago, the sun was overhead but now it was cold and dark having the moon as the only source of light. Still confused as to what was going on, he put aside the mystery of lost time for now. Nitatsu got up with a sense of urgency and took off towards the town to warn the people of the army marching for their home. Closing the distance to the town he started to smell smoke, starting to get worried Nitatsu picked up the pace. Upon arrival he saw a huge hole in the wall around the district, peeking his head inside his heart dropped. He fell to his knees feeling nauseous at the sight in front of him. Buildings burned and blood painted the ground. Looking at his charred home, Nitatsu came to a realization that there might be some survivors, so Nitatsu with newly found courage and motivation rose to his feet walking into the town cautiously. The area was decimated, all corners of the town were burned to cinders and with every step his feet would stick to the ground from the blood. Continuing to scour the area for survivors, Nitatsu reached the center of the district seeing something that wasn't there earlier. It was a huge black mound about 11 feet that looked like it could be charcoal of coal. Getting closer to the black mound he saw something like a face. Hoping it wasn't true Nitatsu backed up in a hurry, frantically saying under his breath,
"No, no, no, this can't be happening. I wasn't even gone all that long, how could something like this happen so quickly!?!" looking all over the mound seeing faces all over the surface.
Noticing that the mound was really all the people of the town, Nitatsu's eyes filled with horror from the scene in front of him, suddenly a memory of earlier that day of Nitatsu telling his butler Gerald emerged. He had promised to apologize to him upon arriving home but now the last memory that he'll have with Gerald would be of him arrogantly telling him to fuck off. As if Something inside Nitatsu suddenly snapped from the loss of his friends, father, and everyone else that he cared for, his eyes went cold and an evil smile crept on his face. Turning around walking away Nitatsu muttered with a bone chilling voice,
"Lilith huh..."
