And so, after being allowed to have a day-off, my friends became lazy. Instead of deciding where to go and explore in the Unova Region, they chose to stay here at headquarters no matter how hard I tried to convince them. Perhaps it was because of the hot weather that made them slackers but still, they know me, I'm a fan of traveling and I ain't wasting any opportunities.
I heard of a park in Castelia City. Now that sounds fun. I think spending time with my Pokemon there will help me balance friendship and power. And also, I am lazy so instead of looking for it, I rode atop my Salamence and searched from the skies. A convenient shortcut to everything. Ah, how I dearly love riding on her scales. They should be rough but I made them smooth with the shampoo she used.
The park was nothing like those of the smaller towns. Theirs were miniature formal gardens for the elderly that had retired there for the quiet life. They had benches, ornamental trees, flowers year round and water fountains in clear lakes that were stocked with Koi carp. But not here. Not in the big city. Here a park meant acres of concrete interspersed with neat grass verges. We have rollerblading tracks, tennis courts, basketball courts, water parks and skate boarder basins. But then again, all of them are not my types.
There are vendors with hotdogs and burgers, vendors with curry and rice, vendors with tacos and sour cream. There's always music, sometimes clashing from various sources, none of them official. Never mind, I thought this would be fun but it's too crowded, too public, and it makes me timid. God, those people love water slides so much.
I decided to stay at the farthest part of the park instead. A place where there is silence, tranquility, and the best among all, cuties! Cutie Pokemon! I couldn't even focus grooming my Pokemon since I was busy playing with the cute Pokemon but then I think I made mine jealous and so I bought them some corn dogs.
Also, I nearly cried again after seeing a plethora of Petilil and Liligant. I wanted to steal one. And just when I thought the day couldn't get any worse, I saw a group of knights making some speech of some sorts that I couldn't understand. A lot of people gathered before them as they declared, "Our duty is to liberate people from Pokemon! Team Plasma will bring justice to the lives of Pokemon! Surrender now or prepare to fight!" said the grunts. It made me furious.
"Excuse?! That's our line! I can charge you for plagiarism!" I got infuriated. The people looked at me and they were hinted I was Team Rocket since I fought for that very last sentence. I guess we're pretty popular in this region.
"Gah! I knew Team Rocket scums would be here!"
"Whoa, I'm sorry, I never knew your organization was losing because of us."
"What did you say?!"
"I guess that's a taunt. Alright then, I accept your battle!" hearing that last word, the people scramble for their lives.
"Why so be it!" one grunt challenged me and tossed out a Herdier. Looks like some strict grandpa dog but then I haven't met its evolved form during that time.
"I'm fighting with my Gardevoir."
"Heh! Herdier, use Tackle!"
"Gardevoir, double team!"
"Now, use Hypnosis!" I followed.
"R-right! I forgot! Gardevoir, Moonblast to finish!"
"Gah! This isn't the last of us! You will see us again! Our kingdom is strong!" said the grunts as they fled the place.
Then I heard the sirens coming along and so I decided to flee as well, riding my Salamence. I saved my organization from plagiarism, hopefully my salary would increase.
Back at headquarters, I decided to tell Virgo about the marble she gave me. That glow wasn't ordinary, I'm sure of it. It just happened now, and what's mind-boggling is that I once thought it was just some ornament or jewelry. Never expected it would be something magical... Perhaps?
For the mean time, I pulled her out of the room so I can speak to her privately. She was bummed by it since she's addicted to her novels and she couldn't stop reading.
"Hey? Remember that time you told me about this strange marble? Have you found any data about it?"
"You stopped my reading time just to alert me about this? No, I thought it wasn't special."
"It is! You thought wrong. You see, I encountered Team Plasma, a bunch of weirdos who wants to liberate Pokemon from all of humanity and then this thing started to glow."
She shrugged her should.
"Come on Virgo! You're a professor! You should be researching about this. The thing you found in the middle of nowhere is something out of the ordinary."
"I'm a professor not a stone collector. Ask Mr. Steven."
"Huh. Bold of you to assume he'll accept me after blowing up their Mossdeep Space Station."
"Right, completely forgot about that. Okay, I'll research more about that marble later. For now, can I please read my novels."
"Fine, thanks for your help, Virgo."
"Anything for you." sighed Virgo as she went back inside the room.
Little did we know, Pierce was eavesdropping us. I never saw him but by the way he looks, he seems interested about my marble. Very interested. Things are getting peculiar and my first encounter with Team Plasma is just the beginning.
