Chapter 458 - LOG 18: The Nacrene Gym

Lenora is a tall woman with black skin, teal hair and blue eyes. Lenora wears a striped headband, with a white shirt with a white ribbon on her neck, as well as orange flats, teal pants and a khaki apron with orange pockets. Lenora also wears a red lipstick on.

Lenora is a very strong and capable middle-aged woman. She is the type to keep her word on things, judging by her relationship with her husband. Lenora prefers to be the assertive one between them. As seen by her study, she is quite organized and neat.

Nacrene City is an old city in eastern Unova, located between the third route and Pinwheel Forest. Its peculiar cityscape was made up of abandoned textile factories and century-old warehouses until enterprising young artists began using them as studios.

Aside from this, it hosts a library, the site of the trainers' second gym battle. Today, Logan has recently arrived at the city with hopes of defeating Ms. Lenora in a two against two Pokemon battle. He wishes to claim his second badge, a step closer to success.

"So? You all fired up?" asked Lenora, glaring at Logan.

"Of course, Ms. Lenora! I'll have your second badge! Let's do this!" said Logan, tossing out his first Pokeball in which it appears to be his Lucario.

"A Lucario? Heh, it's been a long time since I last saw one! Let's get this down to business. Come out, Watchog!" Lenora tossed out her Pokeball too.

Both Lucario and Watchog are known to be skilled fighters despite Watchog's normal type. It doesn't just look like a ninja just for nothing you know!

"Let the battle between challenger Logan and Gym Leader Lenora commence!" proclaimed the referee.

"Alright Watchog, use Low Kick!"

"Let's show them our new move, Lucario! Now use Copy Cat!"

Lucario imitated the exact move Watchog used and used it against the foe. Watchog went flying back to Lenora.

"Alright, follow it up with Meteor Mash!"

The Pokemon shrieked as for another round, it went for the foe's chin. This brought shock to Lenora as she had never encountered such strength and power a trainer and Pokemon upholds before. This perhaps might lead him to greatness and the new champion of the Unova Conference. Unlike the others, the championship here has its own rules and regulations. One must challenge the elite four then battle those who succeeded as well in the very end. Quite the opposite to the previous two!

"Watchog, it's time to show them your power, use Thunder!"

"Quick Lucario, cross your arms!"

Lucario immediately followed instructions. It was slightly pushed back due to the electric current but was able to protect itself with the use of its palms. Once that move was over, Watchog was greeted with a terrible glare as vibrations raveled its whole body.

"Alright Lucario! Time to finish things up! Use Aura Sphere!"

"Quick Watchog! Dodge the attack!"

Watchog was frozen in fear completely! It was unable to dodge the attack on time.

"Watchog is unable to battle! Gym Leader Lenora! Please send out your second Pokemon!" the referee instructed.

"Well, wow wee! We've got a strong trainer on board."

"Hehe, I've been competing in Pokemon Leagues for two times already! Unova will be my third."

"Then let's see about that! Stoutland, let's go!" Lenora tossed out her final Pokeball.

"Alright! Stoutland! Use Fire Fang!"

"Quick Lucario, dodge the attack and use Meteor Mash!"

Lucario hopped to the sky, dodging the attack. Once it descended, Stoutland was smacked harshly in the head.

"Intense. Let's take this to the whole new level! Stoutland, Headbutt, let's go!"

Stoutland ran like the wind, however, Lucario was far more extreme when it comes to stamina. Like before, it was able to dodge the attack without its trainer's command!

"Me and Lucario have improved since our journey in the Sinnoh Region and I'm not allowing another defeat to come across our path! Alright, use Meteor Mash one last time!"

"Quick Stoutland, dodge the attack!"

This time, Stoutland was able to dodge!

"Now, follow it up with Fire Fang again!"

Lucario blasted back because of that super effective move! It went beyond that what Logan expected and thought him not to be over confident all the time.

"Never saw that coming. Alright, Lucario! Aura Sphere once more!"

"Quick Stoutland! Dodge then use Headbutt!"

Stoutland was unable to dodge the attack on time unlike before!

Once the dust settled, the Pokemon was found lying fainted on the ground. It astonished both the referee and the gym leader.

"Stoutland is no longer able to battle! This could only mean the leader of this gym battle goes to the challenger, Logan!" proclaimed the referee.

The two were proud and hugged each other tightly. First the triplets, and now a librarian. He's slowly making his way up the ranks. Though despite defeat, she wasn't really disappointed and instead shook hands with the challenger as a sign of sportsmanship.

"Well looky here, a new victor of my gym battle. I guess that means you deserve this badge. So? Where ya up to next?"

"I'm not sure Ms. Lenora."

"If I may suggest, why not head to Castelia City? I heard their gym leader there is quite above the average."

"R-really?!" Logan was feeling exuberant all of a sudden.

"Ye, if I remember correctly, his name is Burgh. It would be nice if you won against him too, champ to be. Anyhow, good luck with your journey! You still have a long road to surpass."

"Thank you, Ms. Lenora. I'll surely do my best!" said Logan.

"I know you will! Huh, is there by any chance you encountered the triple trainers? Cheren, Bianca, and Hilbert? Why not challenge them too once you meet them somewhere. Those three are beyond the average type of trainers!"

"Sure, I've never met them before but they sound fun!"

What awaits them in Castelia City? Well, I'm dying to find out too but only time will tell as Logan's journey to become a Pokemon Master continues!
