Jenny thumps the wooden door with her feet. Her concerned face then turns to relief after seeing me in the corner. She also saw Agatha but ceased to notice her.
"Luna." With a fast pace, she beams towards me and hugs me tightly. Seconds later, tears start to drip off her eyes and into my back.
"I'm fine." I pat her back. With my hug, I wrapped her with solace.
"So the officer and the grunt are friends? Aren't you going to arrest her?" Agatha queries.
"No! She's my friend, I won't let anyone harm her." Jenny blocks and protects me even if she's aware that Agatha is a member of the Elite Four.
"It's either you betray your friend or the Pokemon Department. Still, you chose Luna over the laws of our region?" With a steady pace, she and her Gengar walks closer to Jenny.
An abrupt interruption occurs when Charlotte, Xavier, and Arlo comes inside the cottage. They send out their Pokemons, ready to ambush Agatha and her Gengar.
"Let our agent go," Arlo demanded with a fiercely.
"If you want to challenge me to a Pokemon Battle, then so be it. Gengar, use Shadow Sneak!" Once more, Agatha slams her Cane to the wooden floorings, a signal for Gengar to attack.
"Sneasel, use Ice Fang!"
"Pidgeotto, now use Drill Peck!"
"Scizor, Flash Cannon!"
The three of them start calling out moves, but all of them missed against Gengar's swiftness. In a single second, Gengar can turn into a smog, drifting across the cottage.
"How did you find me?" As the three of them fight, I query to Jenny about her sudden appearance.
"They found me, so I joined them in hopes of finding you. Luckily we saw you from the windows of the cottage." Jenny explains while playing with my cheeks. How I miss her rambunctious manner.
"Please stop." I plead and remove her hands from my cheeks.
"What? You used to like that when you were in the orphanage."
"This is no time for that. I have to leave before Agatha calls the cops on me."
"What do you mean I? You're going with me, back to Saffron City!" Jenny grabs my hand and encourages me to come with her.
"I am no longer returning to the city, Jenny. You should be lucky that I'm not in the mood to fight since it's a very hot day after the storm." I shake off my hand from her grip and stare at her.
"And you should be lucky that I didn't call the cops on you. You're coming with me to Saffron City, the headmaster is waiting for you." Once more, Jenny grabs my hand and pulls me with force.
"M... Mother? Mother knows about my actions?" With surprise, my voice begins to stutter.
"Of course. She asked me to find you because she misses you, everyone in the orphanage misses you, except for Chloe.
I've heard she went on a camping trip with her friends."
"She's a brat. I nearly killed her."
"And you're proud of that? This is our opportunity to escape while they're fighting. Come with Luna!" Jenny persists to motivate me. With a sincere heart, she begs and begs, only to hear my yes.
"Look, Jenny. I am not going with you. I am not what I used to be, and please don't tell me this is my chance for redemption like what everyone else tells me.
I chose this path, and I cannot stray from it." I remove her hand from my grip once more while glaring at her eyes.
"Come on Luna! This is our chance to escape." From the door, Charlotte extends her hand, and calls me with an exhausted voice from commanding her Pokemon.
"No, Luna. Come with me. This is your chance. Remember what I've said before? Listen to your heart, and not to your mind. Once Giovanni is done with you, he'll torture you. Listen to me!" On my right, Jenny extends her hand.
Me? I am left with two roads. It's either I grasp unto Charlotte's hand or Jenny's hand. For a moment, I remain in silence, thinking about the decision. A part of me told me to join Charlotte, and the other part asked me to join Jenny.
"I'm sorry. Whatever the mind dictates, the body follows. That includes the heart." I rush to Jenny and hug her for a moment before leaving with Charlotte and the rest.
"..." Jenny is left speechless after watching me leave the cottage with the rest of them. she kneels down, with the floor soaked with her tears.
"I guess I have no choice but to fight you." She murmurs to herself with outrage. Calmness returns to the cottage, with Agatha wrapping her with solace.
"Fight if you wish to, but if I were you, I would never give up on pursuing her. After all, she's only blinded by Giovanni's ambitions."
"Sometimes you'd take a bullet for is standing behind the trigger. I'll wake her up, even if it means by fighting her." Jenny stands from the wooden flooring and leaves the cottage with a frown.
Her mind starts to counter itself, and now she is left with no choice but to use force. Me? Certainly, this will not be the last time I'll be meeting Jenny. When I do, I know she'll be different from what she is today. The tension between us starts to intensify. And of course, as expected, I am given a scold by no other than Charlotte back in the tower.
