The egg yolk sun spews through the windows of my room. I could hear the melody of the wind and sea, combing to form one melody. The rustling grass and the swaying of trees added a touch of rhythm to the melody. Nature's children whom we call people and Pokemon, rise up for the dawn of a new day.
I am not like the other children who woke up with discipline. Believe it or not, I hate alarm clocks the most. They send tingles up my spine and ruin my morning galore. Every single morning, my hair becomes a mess that contributes to my daily stress.
The sounds produced by the alarm clock frustrates me beyond my limits. I lean my upper torso and throw the voltorb alarm clock from the desk beside me. Now I can sleep once more.
The clock strikes nine, and my body is still under a sleepy spell. Every morning at around ten o clock, every child is required to proceed to the dining hall for the opening remarks of the day, and of course, for breakfast.
"Luna... Luna, wake up." Athena utters solemnly while trying to awaken my sleepy spirit gently.
Athena is my loving mother who treats me dearly and profoundly. In return, I treat her with respect, admiration, and sincerest appreciation. Mother loves to wear her blue jacket, she has a long white glossy hair, with eyes as sharp as those of Braviaries. Her pupils are crimson red, just like mine, and her skin is pale as well.
"Luna... Luna, wake up. Do you know what day it is?" Athena smiles while shaking my body gently. My eyes slowly open and my blurry sight gradually became clear.
"M... m... mother." I smile with a stuttering voice. My mother's looks always seem to bring joy and content to my heart.
"There's my sleepy daughter! Good morning Luna." Athena utters sweetly while rubbing my cheeks.
"I... I woke, woke up late again." I stutter while looking at the broken Voltorb clock laying on the red carpet of my room.
"Don't tell me you forgot what day it is today. Make a guess." Athena smiles and insists sweetly while playing with my two cheeks. Being a girl with dysphemia, I usually respond to questions with the use of my body. I respond by smiling at my dearest mother, swaying my head sideways.
"Oh dear, why do you forget things so often? Today's your 15th birthday remember? I have the perfect gift waiting for you." Athena reminds me while holding something behind her back.
"B... birthday." I beam with exuberance. My knowledge of words is limited, but my mother homeschools me when she has time.
"Now that's the Luna I know! Excited and jolly as ever. Anyways, since it's your 15th birthday, I believe that you're finally matured enough to receive your first Pokemon." Athena giggles while hiding a small cage behind her back.
"P... Pok, Pokemon! Is... it, it a grass type?" My voice stutters while guessing the Pokemon behind my mother's back.
"Of course! You told me how you love to play with grass type Pokemons in the orphanage sanctuary. So I figured, out that a grass type will suit you perfectly!"
"M... mother, show me! Sh... show me!" Exuberance takes over my body. I can not wait further to meet my first Pokemon.
Mother giggles at me and places the cage in front of me. The Pokemon's scent is sweet and delightful. It smells like a blossom, blooming earnestly.
"Luna, let me introduce you to Petilil. She's timid as you." Athena introduces as she slowly opens the cage. I saw Petilil's oval eyes taking a glimpse of me. Mother is right, she is a timid Pokemon, I could say by the way she shivers and trembles.
"Pet... Petilil." My eyes glimpses back at her. She is a plant-like PokΓ©mon that resembles a plant bulb, such as an onion. It is primarily light green. Its head is tipped with three oblong leaves that are very bitter. However, these leaves possess revitalizing effects. Its crescent-shaped white face, seemingly lacking of a nose or mouth, has brown eyes shaped like elongated ovals.
I tried to comfort her by taking her body out of the cage and hugging her like a mother showing affection to a child. With all my efforts, I smile and console the bulb-like Pokemon's timidity.
"The both of you look beautiful together! I need to capture this precious moment." Athena rushes to the desk beside my bed and scrambles her bag for her rotom-phone. With her phone, she pictures me and Petilil's first moments together.
"I... I, am, going to c... call you Lily!" My voice stutters. Lily sounds like a nice name for a Pokemon like Petilil.
"Alright darling, I want you and petilil to get ready. It's almost past nine-thirty, breakfast is ready! Here's Petilil's Pokeball by the way." Athena smiles and hands me an odd-looking Pokeball with a pink pigment on it.
"M... mother, is... is, this a love ball?" I question. Aside from the pink pigment on its upper hemisphere, the ball has a heart-shaped seal on it.
"Yup, that is correct! A special Pokemon for a special girl like you requires a special Pokeball." Athena giggles and teases as she slowly exits my room.
"Oh, and fix your hair honey! You don't want to look messy on your 15th birthday." Athena's head peaks through the door and reminds me once more. I was already having a hard time to speak, so I respond with a pleasant smile.
We glance at each other. Bliss took over my body once more as I and Petilil hug each other before stepping out of bed. Lily, my very first Pokemon.
