Chapter 35 - - 35 -

Our tutoring session was surprisingly comprehensive. Day's instructions were normally sore out among us, but now that he was talking with me one-on-one he could unleash his full potential. Over time, he slowly began to tailor his teaching to my needs.

"There. We should be done the last question you need to answer today," He finished. Flipping through the pages, I was reminded of just how much progress I had made. It was startling to see just how much time had passed, as a wave of sleepiness crawled into my head.

"Thank you." We both slowly began to stand up, stretching ourselves. I took the booklet and stashed it away inside my backpack. I was then reminded of the things that I needed to do before I went to bed, and began to gather my pyjamas before I was going to shower.

"Good night, Feste," my teacher was at the door. After I nodded and bid him farewell, Day exited my room and went back into the hallway. I finally entered the bathroom, intending to wind down.

My bed seemed to be made out of the softest material I could imagine. I managed to persuade myself that it was the same one I had slept in before, but the back-breaking stiffness of Ittisk and Thrack's couch had altered my senses quite a bit.

I fell asleep mere moments after setting my head down. I embraced the feeling of doing so until I awoke back inside the labyrinth. Rubbing my eyes, I began to walk around. I realized that I had missed meeting with Boingo once before, and I debated on whether he would have slept normally or woke up inside the corridor, being forced to walk without my presence.

"Feste!" A familiar voice spoke up behind me and I was suddenly tackled by none other than Boingo.

"Boingo!" Partly without thinking, I embraced the small creature. It was a relief to see him after everything that I had been through the past two days. "How have you been?"

"I'm fine. Where have you been?" Boingo huffed. "I spent so much time here and you never showed up. I was lucky that the girl kept me company."

"Oh, Endora?" I was relieved. If she hadn't been inside the labyrinth, my friend would have been totally alone for what normally feels like hours. "She's nice, isn't she?"

This seemed to cause Boingo's face to scrunch up. "Ugh, you're still falling for her..."

"No!" My voice raised higher than normal as I instinctively rejected the idea. "It's just that we've gotten to know each other a bit recently and I think that she has a good personality. That's all, I promise."

"Yeah, yeah." Boingo chose to assume that I was merely trying to defend myself. "So why didn't you show up last night? I was actually worried that something bad happened."

"Something did happen, yes." I sighed and started from the beginning. How we were going out for another tour and I slowly became tired to the point where I started away from the entire group. Then I went over the other events that occurred, the kidnapping, the translation device and the exhausting run. I then stopped paying attention to Boingo's reactions as I recounted the terrible sleeping conditions, the fact that I was being forced to work inside a shop, the fight that arose from it, escaping from Ittisk and Thrack, being detained shortly after and finally being released back to Day.

"Who's Day?" Boingo gave me a confused look. He just now began digesting all of the information that I have him.

"Oh, I thought you'd heard. That's the name of our teacher. His last name, anyway."

"Really?" Boingo lowered his head and started to think. "I never knew..."
