After the full set of armoured steel melted and covered her entire body, the massive tree monster began to move towards Cedany and swallowed her inside. Interestingly, the giant monster also seemed to be amalgamating with steel and slowly and gradually shrinking, as if giving it the same set of armour, but differently.
"Ha! I will definitely ask her what she calls that kind of spell!" Roe spoke enthusiastically.
Only this time, however, after finally witnessing her great new armour integration. Everyone can see that there is a solid blue crystal in the centre of her forehead onto which she is wearing a vivid dark green helmet connected with multiple slender branches and leaves that appears to be protecting her head. The vines that appear to be alive are wobbling from her head to the back of her body, similarly like a beast that crawls on the ground. The metals on her shoulders are like thin blades hanging down to her waists and the breastplate looked like there are two hands embracing her, and the piece of armour attached to the bottom of it is now designed like stacked vines and leaves that protect the midriff and hips.
"No, you 're definitely not! I honestly think that's going to take a severe impact on her magic power eventually. She's doing risky and dangerous transitions from one spell to another! You 'll agree you 're definitely not going to inconvenience the resting lady even if it's a real monster, are you?
In a flash of an eye, Arabella dismissed his thought. After she quickly replied, she pushed her wavy hair to the back of her shoulder, adjusting her pointed, big hat. I looked back at the huge raised platform, still with the particularly large chainmail covering the entire stage partially hindering our view of all its transformation, and I watched her further integrate with the hideous monster.
The objects attached to the back of her gauntlets was what first caught my attention. The left side looks like a longsword similar to the one she bore before she raised a massive tree creature with a tiny buckler. I've heard that it's used to intercept specific assaults, whether from near range weapons or projectiles such as arrows. I've seen one from our town before, but Sir Lyol doesn't use it, so I've never had a chance to see how it was used properly.
Besides that, it looks like thin, intertwined steel wings at the back of her right gauntlet. It consists of several flattened sheet metal, which is joined end-to-end by rings to help form a powerful and flexible chain, which I believe is simply called a whip and is used for slashing or piercing an opponent.
"I agree with Arabella. However, please shut your mouths. Keep an eye on how the instructor reacts to her movement. He's not just an instructor for nothing."
And I admit, Pomell really is something else. He could take up the mantle of being a figurehead, and he appears to fit. So while the instructor clenches for his swords as he prepares for Cedany's next attack, she still doesn't think about moving. Truth be told, it's taking so long, and if I were the instructor, I 'd take advantage of this moment and launch an attack on her first.
"Hey! Loverboy! Don't worry about her. She can handle herself" said Arabella who kept teasing me. I don't know if I've made a very strange expression on my face that Roe had to give me a pat on my head that smiled creepily, but he tapped my head twice.
After a while, it looked like the instructor and Cedany was having a conversation, and because we're far enough away not to further hear what they're talking about. Cedany swept her blade whip and charged the professor, but he leapt backwards to avoid his charging weapon. I genuinely believe it does a tremendous amount of damage if you can't stop such an attack.
"Now that I realized it, she stopped using magic spells the moment she invoked the tree monster, except the integration of it. Is she no longer able to use spells? "I was speaking to Arabella who can't seem to hide her shock.
"I have no idea at all. While we use the same weapon, her area of expertise is considerably more complex than mine. After all, I can't use summoning spells. "she answered back.
Pomell said that even though it brings them under the same sphere of wizardry, these magics are totally different from each other. Every branch of magic can be said to be a rare gift. Only one in a hundred of them seem to be able to yield. That's why particular consideration is being provided to them. Also, being able to do so does not guarantee that your children will be able to do it anyway.
"Impact shield!"
On his knees, he was able to guard against Cedany's blade whip while blocking the attack on the vines that were hanging from his head. Yeah, that's not just an embellishment, eh. Since it can move, it makes more sense to use it to assault the enemy.
"It can become a formidable weapon if you have a lot of opponents," I muttered.
"You are right. It could be. However, she draws a great deal of mana from the surrounding and if you say that it is unlimited, how can we say that it will not deplete this area's mana?" Pomell answered.
"Huh?!"
Damn, it's going to be about the same scenario all over again from the Fae domain, huh. I mean, I don't mind secretly helping her, but it's going to be a difficult situation if someone notices me supplying my mana to her.
"Gale blades!"
"That can't be good," Arabella said with a worried look.
While the instructor is fending off the unpredictable and dangerous vines by whipping and slashing it, the crystal is beginning to strip off its glow and the light blue crystal is beginning to fade. She runs up to the instructor and pulls the longsword out of her left hand and shoves it, but as he strikes, she manages to avoid using the buckler.
"The instructor has taken into account this was a war of attrition," Pomell answered.
"W ... what about?! Is she in trouble, eh guys? "Thea clenched her gemstone with both of her hands toward her chest and shrugged her shoulders slightly.
"No, but he can't stop," Pomell answered.
"What?! This is so dangerous. What the hell am I trying to join?" I thought.
"He can't just call off Cedany 's assessment. It's got to have a victor. It has to be a stalemate of oneself. Wonderful news about you, gemstone bearers, you 're going to get a different kind of appraisal.
A young man with a light, blond hair with blue, calm eyes approached us and decided to respond to her. He has almost the same face as the guy who intimidated us in the identification hall, and he also has that sense of superiority, because someday he 's going to be a gallant knight.
"Hey!" Roe interjected.
"Apologies about earlier with my twin brother. I am Alvin. We're from the house of Peyton's."
I chose not to respond to him and to his opinion about the gemstone bearers. I know it's just going to be rude for me to have to speak directly to that. Besides, he only replied why the instructor could not stop the assessment. I do think this is a risky "mock battle" for young people like us. Too much, even if it's for prestige, it's just to evaluate which class we 're going to end up in, not to try to fight to the death. They don't just take their reputations dragging to the ground by surrendering.
Still, the fight is not over yet. The vines from Cedany 's back now all point to the instructor and the steel blade that she uses as a whip is straightened out and looks like a long sword. She ran to him, and the instructor appears like he's going to attack her, but a funny thing has happened. She stopped halfway, and the armour she's wearing is now shifting back to the long, strong sword she's used earlier.
The chainmail that covered this whole podium earlier is gradually withdrawing to the tracks, meaning that it is no longer dangerous. Some of the men carrying crystal orbs are now approaching them and probably starting to heal her physically exhausted tiny body, and the instructor screamed and laughed.
"This is a battle worthy of the name of House Longsword! HA HA HA"
His voice reverberated all over the entire area, and we quickly rushed over with Pomell's signal. Cedany was lying down, relaxing her tired body and laughing. She was trying to get up, but the instructor stopped her and said, "Rest now, young warrior!
"Yes, grandfather!" she said.
Since she was healed by the young clerics. She was taken to the tent as a resting place beside the bannisters, where we can see her. Although she can walk now, she's not allowed to move so much that her body can get sore. We were able to approach her, not mindful of the next battle since the instructor had chosen someone from the Knights apprentices.
