Synopsis
Everyone called her fire a blessing; a blessing from the Queen of the Gods and Goddesses. Something only a few people were blessed with, and even fewer could control. But to Alyn, it was more of a curse than a blessing. "Everything has a price." And so did her fire. People often wished that they could live her life, not knowing they price they would have to pay, not just for her fire, but also for being the daughter of one of the most influential and powerful members of 'Arav's Parliament'. She often wondered that if the people knew of the downsides of being a powerful wielder of any blessing, would they still call it a blessing? Or would they call it a curse? ___ ___ ___ ___ Note: I would recommend reading this story along with Lilith: The Lost Angel. The two stories are in the same world, but different times. Also, this book does not have a happy ending (unless you consider LTLA to be the end, as it's basically them reincarnated 2000 years into the future). They do not spoil each other so you can read them in any order or even side by side. There's plenty of mythology in this book, so all the best keeping up with the names of the Divine (all immortals are included in the Divine; not all of them are Gods and Goddesses). And the Divine are important. They will appear in both the books (more in this one than in LTLA).

Chapter 1 - The Ballad of the Divine

"At the beginning was nothingness,

only nothingness.

And then came, from the depths of itself,

The Queen of the Divine and Fire -Alynthi, and the King of the Divine and Water -Alarik.

One quenched the other's thirst,

as nothingness slowly faded away.....

And from their mingling was born:

The God of Arav (the world) - Gmanan,

The God of Wind - Vorsque

and The God of Electricity - Zuetarm.

They mixed and mingled for eons,

forming and then destroying.

The stars, the moon and the sun were formed from their chaos

and with them, their masters

- Bertia and Medena.

Then appeared Vita, the Goddess of Life

who breathed life into the otherwise lifeless Universe,

creating Life, and with it Death,

which was under the jurisdiction of Romea.

So was born the race of humans

with all the other races of animals.

With Life came Dreams and Hope

who were worshipped by the humans as Xewn and Zariya,

And Jaunte - for Youth,

And Nethya - for Love,

And Marass - for Hate,

And tying all of them together

came the Goddess of Fates - Ume.

So, came along the seasons,

ruled by Crepe.

And the Keepers and Givers of:

Sins - Jorin

Homes - Slincia

Arts - Sabai

Craft - Aster

Merriment - Cheveron

Travellers - Zanth

Fear - Paralian

and Violence - Alexan.

And hence, Nothing became Everything.

Nothingness can give way to:

Beauty and Love,

Destruction and Hate,

Life and Death,

Hope and Fate,

to the never-ending contradictions of this world,

to humankind,

and to us.

All from nothingness.

So the next time you feel like you are nothing,

remember that we all came from nothing.

There is the potential to become everything in every nothing,

So don't lose heart,

lest you decide to remain nothing

out of fear that you are nothing,

because every pit of nothingness has something can someday become something even the Divine can't fathom."
