Everyone called her fire a blessing; a blessing from the Queen of the Gods and Goddesses. Something only a few people were blessed with, and even fewer could control. 
But to Alyn, it was more of a curse than a blessing.
"Everything has a price."
And so did her fire.
People often wished that they could live her life, not knowing they price they would have to pay, not just for her fire, but also for being the daughter of one of the most influential and powerful members of 'Arav's Parliament'.
She often wondered that if the people knew of the downsides of being a powerful wielder of any blessing, would they still call it a blessing? Or would they call it a curse?

Note:
I would recommend reading this story along with Lilith: The Lost Angel. The two stories are in the same world, but different times. Also, this book does not have a happy ending (unless you consider LTLA to be the end, as it's basically them reincarnated 2000 years into the future). They do not spoil each other so you can read them in any order or even side by side.
There's plenty of mythology in this book, so all the best keeping up with the names of the Divine (all immortals are included in the Divine; not all of them are Gods and Goddesses). And the Divine are important. They will appear in both the books (more in this one than in LTLA).
