Letting out a quiet sigh, Fu Wang crossed his arms and looked around for another fun game to play. They had been around to all the new... rhythm games, mostly to humor Chen Jingyun's newfound interest in rhythm games. And among them... they spent an insane amount of money for the dance revolution machine.
Now they were down to the last coins... What should be the last great game?
In this area, Chen Jingyun was fast on her feet.
"How about we play... gun games?" Chen Jingyun suggested as she literally dashed and picked up the gun from a machine.
From her actions, one could tell she was not really making a suggestion. Instead, she was making a decision.
Li Minghao raised his eyebrow.
He wasn't judging her choice of game, no, he was judging her wordplay.
"Gun games, really?"
Those words physically hurt him.
"It's called a shooting game." Li Minghao corrected her.
But to no avail, Chen Jingyun shrugged and gave him a careless smile.
"It's all the same to me."
While they were talking, Fu Wang not so sneakily sneaked towards the machine and grabbed the other gun left.
"Oh well, since it's only a two-player game, we will have to take turns..." He said almost innocently as he held the gun up.
"Do you want to go first?" Fu Wang smiled sheepishly as he looked at Li Minghao,
Looking at him, Li Minghao didn't take long to shook his head.
"No, you go first."
Fu Wang instantly felt relieved. It worked!
Looking back at Li Minghao, Chen Jingyun gave him a reassuring tone.
"When we pass to the next stage, I'll give you the gun." She was confident in her skills.
"Don't worry about it, I want to watch." He held his palm up and shook it.
"Oh... your loss!" Chen Jingyun shrugged. Since he didn't want it, she would play it with gusto!
Fu Wang only nodded and turned to look towards Chen Jingyun. He was looking quite charming in a way only a bright young man could.
"Ready to kill zombies?" He flashed her a smile as he put in the last coins they had. A smile mixed with warmth yet a hint of teasing. "Need me to carry you?"
At this, Chen Jingyun laughed and rolled her eyes.
She could have tanked the rhythm games, but this game? She wouldn't lose so easily.
"Don't die on me." She held the gun up.
"Start the game."
Li Minghao was quite impressed. After watching Chen Jingyun showcase a bad knack for a rhythm game way too many times, it was refreshing to see her doing well. With her military training, she would obviously know how to handle a gun, even if it was a gun from an arcade machine.
She held the gun properly and had the correct stance. She also had fast reflexes. As for her accuracy... it wasn't bad. It was hard to tell in a game like this. He would have to watch her in action with a real gun in order to know her true capabilities.
However, there was something else that impressed him even more. It was Fu Wang.
Fu Wang was widely known as the son of the prestigious Fu family. A family mainly focused on the politics of the nation's security, a family that wasn't willing to associate too closely with just anyone. However, their son, Fu Wang, was carefree and highly sociable. His peer liked him and didn't see him too much of a politician but just a regular rich guy. A bit silly, but a fun guy.
When Fu Wang first arrived at the school, he was the subject of the talk. Nobody was willing to cross him as they feared Fu Wang would be one to use his connections and hit back in a way their families couldn't afford. But when they saw the approachable smile on him, they let down their guards and became friends with him.
Li Minghao didn't care much for him as politics were a bit of a boring subject for him. There were too many formalities he wasn't willing to go through. However, with him being within Chen Jingyun's current social circle, he had to keep a watch on him. And the information he gathered so far... told him there were a bit too many red flags. Albeit not dangerous tellings, they were suspicious signs.
It was the way Fu Wang and Chen Jingyun had such great teamwork, almost as if they played together for quite a few times. The same way they also behaved as if they knew each other for quite a long time and were good friends.
Whenever Li Minghao was around them, it seemed to him that Fu Wang knew very well what Chen Jingyun liked or not, what she was willing to do, and what would catch her attention.
And if his EQ didn't fail him, Fu Wang always treated Chen Jingyun in a quite special way...
"Alright, let's go have dinner. It's getting late." Fu Wang suggested after the game was over.
In response, Chen Jingyun quickly nodded as she stretched like a lazy cat.
"Yeah... I'm also getting sleepy. Should we call a cab on the way back?"
"Sure! Why not." Fu Wang smiled down at her, resisting the urge to ruffle her hair, before turning to look at Li Minghao.
"Is there anything you would like to eat?"
Li Minghao shook his head.
"Anything is fine."
He couldn't wait to interrogate Chen Jingyun tonight.
