Chapter 12 - 11. Her Mistake

After a short debate on what to eat, they decided to battle it out in a round of rock, paper, scissors. It was quicker and better for these four hungry teenagers. The three boys put their wits to work while Chen Jingyun didn't really care. She didn't have favorites nor was picky. She just wanted to eat. In the end, Li Minghao won.

"Wa, the food in this restaurant is really good."

Chen Jingyun leaned back and patted her stomach with a satisfied smile looking much calmer and cuter than when she was hungry. She was the last to finish eating. But this time she was faster as she was hungry after that sport session.

"True, but I'm going for a boba. Who's with me?" Su Long took his belonging and stood up. Luo Shao did the same. Next to her, Li Minghao was calmly drinking from his teacup.

"What? You still have space for bubble tea?" Chen Jingyun's Jax dropped slightly. "I pass."

Su Long just nodded and directed a look at Li Minghao.

"He's not going." Luo Shao answered for him. "We will see you at the dorm or you guys can stop by the bubble tea shop and hang out for a while."

"Sure."

Just like yesterday's dinner. Chen Jingyun and Li Minghao were left alone. One guy had a noble aura that made him seem unapproachable and another was a cute bundle of sunshine. Putting them together only softened the cold guy's aura bringing a warm touch, and made the cute one shine.

This time they stayed in comfortable silence. Slowly biding their time as they digested the food. It was peaceful.

After a while, they got up and left the restaurant. They didn't go back to the dorms. Instead, they walked around the neighborhood. They started to talk about anything and everything, but not necessarily personal or superficial. They spoke easily and hung out together.

"What are you going to do after graduating from school?"

Li Minghao thought for a little while before answering.

"Go to university, of course." Li Minghao started. "Then take over the family business."

"Is that something you want or have to do?" Chen Jingyun was no stranger to obligations like these. Typically boys would have to work to inherit the company while girls were encouraged to marry a good husband.

"I have always known that is the path for me." Li Minghao smiles. He wasn't sad. "Even then, I still will do the things I like. I just have to put more time and effort."

"What are those?"

"What?"

"The things you like." She explained.

"Oh, just learning."

And this is how Chen Jingyun found out Li Minghao was an A+ nerd in love with learning about everything.

"What about you?"

"Me?" Chen Jingyun pointed at herself and then smiled a little helpless. "I am not sure..."

"That's... okay. Not everybody knows what they want to do. Go at your own pace." Li Minghao patted her shoulder. He was surprisingly understanding.

"I mean," Chen Jingyun continued. "I have always been told to find a good husband-"

"What?" Li Minghao stopped in his tracks.

"What?" Chen Jingyun still didn't realize her mistake.
