Chapter 1 - Task Accomplished

"C'mon, where are you? Show yourself little fishy. I'm running out of oxygen here."

Just then, Ermin saw the silhouette of something big in the corner of his eye, but he didn't move, staying still as if he was a dead, the water gently moving him side to side.

"Finally, took you long enough." he thought as he clenched the metal spear on his right hand harder. The spear itself had a dagger tied to it just above his hand.

On his other hand Ermin was holding something with his t-shirt wrapped around it. It was about the size of his own head and whatever it was, it was alive since it kept twitching every now and then.

Although it has been 9 minutes since Ermin last took in a breath of fresh air, he could still go on for 4 minutes or so. On his left arm, just above his wrist, there was a cut with his blood flowing into the water.

As the seconds kept ticking away, the silhouette started growing larger and larger. Whatever was out there was getting attracted to the scent of his blood. A minute hadn't passed when a long, green, whip like tail came out from the silhouette, rushing towards him.

The tail wrapped around him so hard it made him release a grunt. Ermin made sure to keep his arms from getting wrapped by the tail.

"You're a strong one aren't you? Couldn't you be a little more gentle? I thought we were friends, I even started calling you Fin."

The tail started dragging him through the water eventually leading Ermin to a large lizard like creature. The monster itself easily surpassing an elephant in size, with long crocodile like jaws, two paddle like fins on each side of its body, and a tail which the creature could stretch up to 30 meters in length.

The large lizard opened its jaws wide enough to accommodate its prey into their new home, its sharp teeth and slimy tongue making for beautiful decorations.

As soon as it unwrapped its tail around its prey so it wouldn't bite it off, Ermin thrust the top of his spear into the creatures upper jaw and lodged the bottom on its lower teeth while holding onto the spear tightly.

The lizard roared in anguish. It wrapped its tail around Ermin again, trying to pull him out while pushing with its tongue at the same time, but all it did was make Ermin annoyed and disgusted at the tongue. He needed a clear shot into the beasts mouth and the tongue was getting in the way. The tail wasn't even worth mentioning.

Ermin wrapped his legs around the spear and grabbed the beasts tongue with his free hand, his fingers digging into it. He pulled on it hard, finally getting a clear view of the beasts throat.

The beast, or Fin as Ermin likes to call it, tried to snap its jaws shut to break the spear and end its pain, causing the spear to start bending. It started squeezing the life out of Ermin with its tail causing him to grunt in annoyance.

"Gotta hurry this up, the spear isn't gonna hold much longer."

Ermin unwrapped the t-shirt on his left hand using his teeth to help himself. What he pulled out of it was a little creature with bumps all over its body, looking more like a rock covered in moss than an animal.

"Sorry lil Timmy but your time has come. Your sacrifice is needed for me to fill my stomach and finally finish this test. Don't be scared, you'll see your older brother soon."

While thinking this, Ermin squeezed lil Timmy till it started bleeding green. The creature started trembling and inflating at a rapid pace. Ermin immediately tossed it into the Fin's throat.

With his t-shirt now back in his left hand, he let go of the beasts tongue and grabbed the dagger tied to the spear.

He immediately started stabbing the beasts tail again and again. Fin started thrashing about, eventually releasing Ermin from its grasp after several deep gashes on its tail. As soon as Ermin was released he started swimming away, though just then the spear snapped in half and the beasts teeth sunk in on his leg.

"Ouch... Fin how could you... that's my second favorite leg."

Before he lost his leg, Ermin immediately tossed his dagger in the beasts eye causing it to open its jaw to let out a guttural roar, and letting Ermin swim to safety. It wasn't until 10 second later that the Fin exploded.

"Goodbye Fin. Goodbye lil Timmy. I'll miss you both for the next 5 seconds... shit I need to breathe."

He then started rapidly swimming up to get some of that sweet, sweet oxygen that he was in dire need of at the moment. As soon as he broke through the water he took in a deep breath and started coughing.

"Holy shit. I forgot oxygen is a thing I need, can't live without it."

After clearing his throat of the water he inhaled, he looked up to the sunset. It caused Ermin to stop and stare around for a while. He was in the middle of a lake with rocky mountains to one side of the sun and a jungle in the other. In the dense jungle, some trees were swaying with the wind and some were swaying on their own. It was silent. Only a few noises could be heard like the rustling of leaves, the water hitting against his chest, and the occasional roar in the distance. A deer like creature with horns the size of Ermin himself was peacefully taking drink on the shore by the jungle... at least it was there before it got dragged in the water.

"C'mon man, it was so close to a beautiful sight."

Ermin took a deep breath and went back underwater. He started grabbing bits and pieces of the beast that just exploded, wrapping it with his t-shirt, and one of its teeth as proof that he killed it.

Coming back onto the shore he dropped his loot and sat down to look at his injured leg. It was bloody a flesh was missing but thankfully the bite didn't go through the bone.

"Phew, that thing almost had me in the end. Man, I lost my spear and my dagger to it, that wouldn't have happened if I was allowed to use my ability. At least I got this." He said as he held up the beasts tooth. It was 7 inches long, sharp, and could definitely be used to replace his dagger. The metal spear he found in the woods was gone forever though.

After making sure his leg was in the right place, Ermin got up, grabbed his t-shirt stuffed with meat, and started limping to a tree nearby with his new dagger in hand. He stabbed the tree and some kind of colorless liquid started seeping through it. He grabbed some and applied it on the cut on his left arm that he made to attract the beast.

The cut immediately started healing and soon it was gone. He then applied a large amount of it to his leg and the same thing happened except at a slower pace.

"Thank you very much." He said as he patted the tree and pulled out his dagger.

Ermin then went around the jungle looking for things to make a campfire. Ten minutes later he was back on the shore, roasting the meat over the campfire he hastily made. It wasn't very pretty but it did the job. After it was done cooking he took it off and started eating.

"Feels like rubber and tastes like it too... I guess its not the worst thing I've eaten but its up there." Food didn't come by everyday so he continued eating it.

Ermin has been out in the woods for 5 days and was given the task to go find and kill the Mosarus, the strongest beast that was around this area, without using his ability. Ermin had been studying it for a while and this was the third time he tried to kill it.

The first time he almost died since he went to test its strength with his bare hands. In his second try, the Mosarus escaped him as soon as he stabbed it once. It was a coward for its size and strength. Only on the third did he succeed.

After finishing the meat, he let out a satisfied breath while patting his stomach, laid down with his back on the ground and stretched his arms and legs. Then a huge grin formed on his face.

"I can't wait for tomorrow... finally I will meet some new people. Hopefully they are as nice as teacher because the others I've met weren't that nice to me."

Ermin got up and grabbed his t-shirt now stained with Fin's blood. He went to the lake and started washing his face, hands, and t-shirt. When he put his t-shirt on he looked at himself on the reflection. Pitch black hair covering his forehead, sky blue eyes, and a toned physique. Above average height and 16 years old. Under his right forearm there was a bar code.

"Lookin' good, feelin' fresh, ain't dead yet so life is great. Time to head home!"

Ermin walked out of the water and stomped the fire out, he then grabbed his tooth dagger and headed home.
