Chapter 6 - Day 1 Mistakes

I hung my head and was pissed, I now had a slave who was a weak and whiney lowclass vampire. This seriously sucked.

"Thank you master, I will earn my place by your side. I swear it. What is my order Master?" Cain asked me like a puppy who just got a new treat.

A screen popped up in front of my face and I started reading it and it explained how to share my power and ability to walk in the sunlight with my slave.

"Come here and follow my orders exactly," I said.

He slowly came closer to me but I was standing in the first rays of the sun from the alley.

"If I come any closer to you I will start to burn, Master." Cain said scared.

"Obey me or die." I said.

He tried to pull his shirt up over his head and stepped next to me. Smoke started to come off of him. I offered him my wrist and told him to feed right now. He quickly struck my wrist and started drinking. The smoking started to slow down and stopped. I took him in my arms and pulled him close to me. My next step was what I found disgusting and I was hesistating to do it. He started to smoke again and was whimpering in pain. I had to either do this or watch him die. Opening my mouth I struck his neck and started to feed on Cain. I heard a chime and pulled back.

"Do you swear to serve me for all eternity? Will you obey my orders and accept me as your one and only master?"

He released my wrist and said "I will serve you forever and I will be your slave until my dieing breath. Yes, Master I am yours to command."

The smoking stopped and I watched him fully heal right before my eyes. A collar formed around his neck and he dropped down on one knee.

"Master how can I serve you?" Cain asked.

"Follow me and stay by my side until I give you an order. Also call me My Lady in public and until I decide what your role will be, you are going to play as my butler. Let's go get you some proper clothes then those rags you are wearing right now."

"Thank you Mas... My Lady." Cain said.

I sighed and walked into a clothing shop. I checked my inventory and saw I had 150 gold. I didn't think it was very much but all I was looking for was a shirt, pants and shoes for my slave. When Cain walked in the store the shop owner came out and saw him and started to Chase him out of the store.

"Good sir, I am Lady Lilith of Netherworld. I am looking to buy this man one cheap set of clothes so he may follow me around and carry my bags. Please allow him in your store so we may acquire the needed clothing." I said politely.

The shop owner looked me over and nodded his head and then said "A cheap set of clothes with shoes would be 70gold can you afford that? You don't look like you can."

I walked near Cain and said quietly, "What is his race?"

"He is Terran My Lady." He replied confused.

"Very good you can recognize a person's race then. I wasn't sure that you could as you thought I was prey." I looked at the shop owner and said "I can pay that but the quality better be worth that sort of price."

I took out my money and proved that I could pay with money to spare. He nodded and went into the back. He came back with a tap measure and had Cain stand on a stool while he took his measurements. The shop owner went back to the back and brought out a true butler's outfit. I looked it over and noticed that it indeed was of good quality. He handed me the outfit and froze. He went big eyed when his hand touched my skin.

"You are a noble vampire and that vampire there is half starved. He doesn't plan on allowing you to pay for this outfit and wants to kill me." He paled and started to reach for something.

I put out my hand and stopped him from grabbing whatever it is. I looked at Cain and shook my head. He bowed his head in shame.

"Sorry for him he is hungry. As his master I assure you that you will be safe." I said carefully.

He looked at me and said, "If you as a noble swear I will not be harmed you can have this clothing for 5 gold instead but he must put it in on somewhere else."

I nodded, "Cain go back to the alley and wait for me there."

"But master he is prey and I am starving. Please let me kill him and then we can take the clothes and his money." Cain begged.

I heard the shopkeeper swallow loudly.

"Cain, that is my order now OBEY me. GO NOW!" I said with command.

He refused to obey and I snapped my fingers. The collar lit up like a lightbulb and he fell to the ground writhing in agony. His hands kept grabbing at the collar and had his mouth open like he was screaming but no sound came out. I snapped my fingers again and the collar stopped hurting him. He slowly sat up, tears were flowing down his face and they were tinged red with blood and nodded to me.

He crawled towards me and put his hand up in the air. It was a way to beg for forgiveness.

"Well after seeing that display of power, He may go over there to change. If you order him not to be able to harm me I now know that he can't hurt me." The shopkeeper said. "That little show told me everything that I need to know and that you are indeed a noble and his master. If fact it told me that you are truely master and slave. A servant wouldn't be punished that badly for disobeying. You have forced his obedience haven't you. How did someone like you manage that?"

"What exactly are you meaning by someone like me? Do you not think I can control my own property?" I asked slightly offended.

"Property huh, well if you look at it that way then I could see why a Terran noble would have such a strong collar made for the likes of those vermin of vampires. They think they are better then us because they can live forever unless killed." The shopkeeper said.

"Cain, go clean up and put on proper clothes. Take care to see they are kept clean as well." I ordered.

"Yes, My Lady." Cain replied.

Cain went to clean up in the bathroom and then put on the butler attire.

"You don't like vampires huh." I asked looking at the shopkeeper.

"Of course I don't they are vile and disgusting having to feed on us and then there are the worse ones who are born and those that also feed on animals. They are all just parasites don't you agree?" The shopkeeper said with heat.

"Actually I do NOT tend to share your opinion on the topic of the noble vampiric race. I will admit the need for blood is not ideal but until there is a subsitute they do what they have to to survive. I do not condone killing Terrans or life in general but I do believe they are better then Terrans or werewolves. Terrans and werewolves have to kill their prey for food. Vampires do not have to do that. I believe in the sacred life being more precious then most things." I replied with feeling.

"You are a very odd Noble. The opinion you have over our race and our need for food to survive that causes animals to lose their life... If I did not know better I would say you were not Terran like myself." The Shopkeeper said with caution.

I looked straight at the shopkeeper and starting laughingmaking sure that he couuld see my fangs. "That is the second time that you have called me a Terran. I take it that your gift doesn't work on me or you would of known what I was exactly."

The shopkeeper paled in a whisper like voice, "You are one of the rare castle owning born noble vampires. Most of them are killed off because they kill the cities around them and leave bodies in their wake. It is odd that you view life as precious and sacred."

"Afraid of me now huh. I am not one to be feared, in fact I just might be the only vampire master you don't need to fear. I don't take Terran life unless I am attacked and forced to defend myself. None of my subjects will take a Terran life either I forbid it." I said firmly.

Cain stepped out from the bathroom fully clothed and with my distraction at his entrance, the shopkeeper took off towards the back and went towards whatever he was going to grab or touch earlier. Just as he was about to touch whatever it is I had already moved to stop him. I didnt even realise that I moved until after I had a hold of him.

Sighing I looked at the shopkeeper, "Why is it that you feel that you are threatened now and are trying to do whatever it is that you want to do. Should I press it and find out if I am threatened now and am going to be forced to act to protect myself or are you going to be smart and take the payment and let us peacefully walk out of here."

Just then I heard an alarm quietly sounding in the back of the shop. I turned to the shopkeeper, pretty pissed off. Right then I saw a pair of people rush in the front door ready for battle.
