From the events leading on our quest, up to the completion of it, I had thought that this 'son-of-the-Marquess' guy behaved even just a bit. I mean, he even became cooperative with us when subjugating the raging Hainu in the village and furthermore, he was motivated to complete the quest even if he grunted a bit in disgust.
Indeed. I was just thinking about it but, this guy is still like this at the end of the day.
Malthur ran around the Guild while there was a group of irate Guildsmen and swordsfolk trailing behind him. From the looks of that silly expression plastered on his pale face while adding it with the emotions and shouts of everyone around that were chasing him, it seemed that Malthur made a fuss around the Guild.
Really, are you a bona fide son of the Marquess?
We watched a bit in the ridiculous ruckus that he caused and when he finally saw us, he ran off in our direction alike to a mongrel who was desperate to come in the lap of its masters. He was trembling in his whole body when he stopped in front of us while also cradling the cute Hainu creature that he absurdly named 'Bintii'.
"Hey! It is about time that you two show up! This is ultimately bad for Bintii!!!" he said, sheer panic and fear is apparent to his white-paled face.
After seeing that expression of his that belonged to the emotion of fear, it made me remember the similar faces he made when we were trying to combat Bintii here.
"What is up with the Guild here in your city?! Seriously, I was not even doing anything offensive or shady, I swear!"
The two of us watched him explain the events that happened here in the Guild alike to a situation where he has to defend his side on a prosecution court in a detailed manner.
When-
The sound of heavy footsteps in his back came into a halt while a collection of rowdy voices rang menacingly.
Indeed. When he was busy in filling us up on the events, Malthur did not even realize that he was already cornered in a dead halt, nowhere to slip past through on anything.
"Hoi! Do not act big just because you are the son of the Marquess!"
"Seriously, how dare you bring that up when we are in a state of alert here in the Guild?!"
"You were just recently anointed as a Myrmidon and you will do this?! The nerve!"
Voices of various swordsfolk and Guildsmen rang in his back with a tune of dislike and subjugation against his name.
Upon realizing the fact that he was cornered, Malthur squirmed a bit in our side and tightened his embrace on Bintii.
"WAH! I am cornered! Quick, Redhead! You explain it to them! It is not my fault!"
Malthur hid in the back of Roy alike to a shy child who is acting extremely timid in front of the strangers and with a voice of hopelessness, he pleaded to Roy to clear the misunderstandings that he created for himself.
Hoi. What exactly happened here that resulted in your uncharacteristic portrayal right now?
"Uh… what am I going to explain exactly?" Roy said at Malthur awkwardly.
Well, I cannot blame Roy here. You just indeed came into us while rambling vague sentences due to your intense panicking! Honestly, that made us confused regarding what are you trying to imply exactly.
"I will explain it to you, Sir Roy and Lady Astoria!" amidst the large volume of Guildsmen and Swordsmen, Miss Ayesha, the Guild's secretary, came in forward to us.
In this city, as for its safety measures, Swordfolks will not be allowed to keep a creature or even bring it here in the city without a permit to the Infantry branch. Failure to observe this single and simple rule will result in penalties (depending on the danger of the creature might pose) such as: confiscation of the creature from its keeper, imposition of a day's worth of community service around the city, or even charging off fines via Evees, to name a few.
Malthur here came busting in the doors of the Guild while carrying a creature that was not even initially listed in the Infantry branch. To make the matters worse, that creature is a rare and dangerous one.
Though… I do not know. Judging from her behavior around Malthur, Bintii is not rampaging anymore. If anything, she mostly now acts like a domesticated pet dog.
Thus, from all of the explanations of Miss Ayesha, Mal-git here committed a violation of the rule.
Here in Estocia, rules are rules. No matter how famous nor legendary your feats are, you will still suffer the consequences of your actions.
"I see. So that is your case, then…" Roy said while sighing heavily.
"W-What? I obviously had no idea about that, secretary!" hearing the exhausted sigh of Roy made Malthur jump out into further panic.
"I apologize, Sir Malthur… but feigning ignorance in the rules of the city will be futile…"
Miss Ayesha said seriously while closing her own eyes.
"WHAAA! No! I am not a criminal! I beg of you! I can call Gilcra- uh, I mean…I can call my father to clear this misunderstanding!" Malthur shouted frantically.
"Huh? Oh, do not misunderstand, Sir Malthur. You are not a criminal! If the creature here can be registered to the Infantry branch right away before evening, you will be allowed to keep the said creature in question without any problem!" she said while smiling widely.
Miss Ayesha leaned over Bintii and patted her in the head. In an instant, Bintii was wagging her golden tail already, much to the shock of Malthur and even the two of us. However, Malthur did not even mind the current situation as he sighed in relief knowing that he will not be condemned as a criminal.
"Ahhh. That is good. I feel relieved now."
Upon hearing his sigh of relief, Miss Ayesha stopped her patting at Bintii and looked at Malthur intently.
"But…not so fast, Sir! You still have to pay for the violation you have just committed! So…"
"AH."
Poor Malthur.
He went to the city in hopes to find for an ideal keeper for Bintii, just to be prosecuted by the Guildsmen.
In his fit of unspeakable annoyance, Malthur leered in front of us and said while gnarling his teeth:
"Arrghhh! This is your fault! The both of you! If only you told me in advance about this obscure rule of your city, I wouldn't be in this frightening situation!"
"Yeah… I am sorry about that, Malthur. You are right. We should have warned you first…" Roy said bluely.
Hey, wait a moment-
"No… do not apologize, Roy. It is his fault since he insisted in going home first! He could have just gone with us in talking with Nada but no! He said that he is 'tired' and should be taking a rest first." I said, realizing his fault in the matter.
"Augh. The nerve of you talking to me like that even if we are in the same line of work! Here I was, being an idiot for thinking that you and I are allies but no! I guess not!"
Malthur bitterly said.
"Hoi. Do not push it! You will do well in remembering that time where I just helped you in mending your leg and feet so be grateful! Not to mention, you even called me an 'idiot' even if I just healed you completely!" I rebutted to him annoyingly.
I do not know the exact reason why I brought up that random scenario in my head. I actually felt fulfilled when I helped him in standing up once more at that battle…
I just do not know.
But… hearing him that he regarded us as his allies was somehow… touching.
From the start, I thought that Malthur here was just using us as his pedestal for realizing his own dream, whatever that ambition may be…
I mean, he said that statement out loud when we met him in the bar.
However, when he said that we are comrades in this line of work, it made me retract this non-directional anger toward him…
Malthur maintained his annoyed face and kept leering at us for a good second when he finally said:
"Augh! Have it your way, dumb smitha!"
Oh… here it is again. My anger, that is.
"What did you say, you ungrateful, pale git?"
"HA? Are you deaf? I said have it your way! Dumb smithaaa!"
"Come here! I will make you eat those words!!!"
Another rowdy scene ensued inside of the Guild.
"Hey! The two of you! Stop! Hey, Miss Ayesha! A little help here?"
Roy tried to avoid me in pouncing Malthur viciously while asking for Miss Ayesha for assistance, but it seems that the secretary of the Guild was slightly entertained in our childish dispute that she did not even bother to help at all.
"Ha-ha. Get him, Tori! AH-… I mean…stop it you two!"
Oh right. She just pretended to be a responsible secretary just now.
Our loud bickering lasted for a minute when a loud bang ensued in the door of the Guild.
The entrance was opened widely.
"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE??!"
A loud and deep voice rang in our vicinity that it made us shocked and stunned due to its overwhelming power and loudness.
It was Chief… also accompanied by Fae.
Everyone in the Guild was startled in the sudden entrance of the Chief of Estocia and it made them go sit in the nearest bench table in a swift manner. The rambunctious crowd that was laughing and shouting with us earlier in our fight fell in a complete state of silence and when they realized that there are no available chairs for them to sit on, the few of them just stood formally and spoke in a soft manner.
All of that... just happened in an instant.
Even Miss Ayesha here hurriedly went in the counter with a poise and smiled awkwardly on her posture. The sight of the shocked and bewildered Roy also permeated in my mind when Chief walked in front of us with an infuriated face.
"Son? What in the names of the forgotten heroes happened in this Guild?! I can ever hear the rowdiness of the voices of everyone in the entrance!" he said, definitely annoyed in the situation.
Ah, so you also heard the noise, huh?
Everyone went dead silent as the loud voice of the Chief rang on every angles of the Guild.
"Uhh… Father… it is just ah..." Roy stuttered helplessly while still trying to form his reply.
When his son suddenly stopped in his ridiculous fidgeting, Chief turned around the Guild and shouted loudly.
"GUILD!!!" he said as the echoes intensified his loud yell.
"YES, CHIEF!!!"
Everyone around the Guild loudly replied in unison.
"WHAT IS THE SEVENTH TENET OF THE GUILDSMEN?!"
"WORK LIKE THE GENTLE POLLENS OF NATURE TO SCATTER THE SEEDS OF PEACE FOR THE CITY!!!"
The Guild said those words in one go with a clean finish and certain intonation.
It is amazing.
"SO… IF WE ARE THE POLLENS OF THE CITY, WE MUST BE A PEACEFUL ONE IN ORDER TO AFFECT THE PEACE OF THE CITY! AM I CORRECT?"
"INDEED, CHIEF!"
The Guild rang their answer and as a result for their sound agreeing to Chief, he placed his left hand to his chest and lightly pounded it with a soft force. After doing that, he yelled:
"FOR THE GUILDIA!"
Everyone in the Guild mimicked his hand gestures and actions and they also shouted the same phrase in unison:
"FOR THE GUILDIA!"
From that impressive portrayal of leadership, I was left amazed in the sight of Chief's charisma and power.
"Now all of you, back to work!" he then said while laughing.
When we were still standing there, dumbfounded in the sight of Chief's leadership, Fae hurriedly went in front of me and gave me a hug.
"Tori! Tori! I am glad to finally meet you again! Seriously, I missed you!" she said while smiling childishly.
"Oh, Fae. I missed you too!" I said while hugging her back.
"MMMM! I missed- wait! Something is wrong here! No! I take it back!"
Fae remembered something and she tried to refrain in hugging me.
"F-Fae! What is the matter? I thought you missed me?" I said in a confused state.
"Don't you remember, Tori? Really, you are cruel! You said those mean words in front of me while you are sent in the air on the festival!" she said while pouting cutely.
AH. That. Yeah, I remember now.
"Look, I am sorry okay? I did not mean to chastise you like that and I take all of those words back so please, forgive me!" I said while pleading for her forgiveness.
"Hmph!" she said while intensifying her annoyed face.
Wait. I have seen this before.
When Fae tried her best not to reply on my pleading, Chief turned back to us and asked me what happened:
"Well uh, Chief… Malthur here did a violation of the rule…"
"Hm? You did?" with a surprised face, Chief suddenly faced the still-angered Malthur.
"AH-! Well… I sort of did it unknowingly. But do not misunderstand! I am not a criminal!" he said in a panic.
"AH! HAHAHAHAHA! Did you now? Look boy, you were just recently anointed as a Myrmidon and you already did an offense? HAHAHA. So? What did you do?"
I explained everything to Chief what happened in the Guild before he came, as well as the nature of Malthur's offense. While listening, the Chief was just laughing merrily until I mentioned his violation of the rule…
"Ah. So you did that… well, it cannot be helped, then! I apologize but you will be receiving a punishment." Chief said seriously.
"WAHHH! Please, do not put me into the prison!!!" once again, Malthur yelled in panic.
"Calm down, boy! Your offense is not that heavy for you to be imprisoned in a state like that! Well, we have the choices here so choose them yourself boy!"
Chief retrieved an important-looking parchment to Miss Ayesha and read its contents:
"Uh, let us see… sanctions…sanctions, where are they…ah! Ahem. So, the following penalties that shall be thrusted to the violator will be proceeded as follows: one is by fining Evees, another is a forceful community sweeping around the city, or even forfeiting the said creature that was not registered in the Infantry branch…"
Ah so I was right.
"Well? What will be your choice, boy?"
"Uh... I do not have any Evees with me today, Chief…also, I do not want to waste my days by sweeping away around the whole city so…uh…"
I just realized something while listening to this conversation…
For a person being condemned in violating a rule in the city, and letting the person choose the penalties that he had to experience, why is there no atmosphere of dread and despair here? What is with this light-heated feeling that I can just experience? Sure, Malthur was panicking earlier, but upon watching him on contemplating about his preferred penalty is rather odd for me! Shouldn't you be crying right now, hoi?! Also, shouldn't there be an angry mob in a distance that will antagonize him in every minute?
I know, I am happy that he is not mad and scared anymore but…
Hah. Truly, this is bizarre.
"Ah, so you choose in forfeiting this creature in the Guild then?"
Malthur looked conflicted upon hearing that question.
"N-No… I uh…" he stuttered to his words while dramatically looking at Bintii.
"WHA! Did I hear that right? Sir Malthur is surrendering the cute creature to the Guild? If that is the case, allow me to take care of the creature!"
A soft voice rang in our back. It belonged to a woman.
Soon, a figure of a golden-haired woman appeared in front of us while handling her own sword beside her head. She is dressed alike to the same uniform of Roy's.
"Oh! Miss Tsismae? You heard all of that?" while trying to comfort Fae in a corner, Roy asked her abruptly.
"Well, of course! I heard all of your conversation from the beginning thanks to my dependable Vespusisa! Fufu! Sir Malthur, if you plan in abandoning the cute creature to the Guild, just give it to me and I will take care of it!"
Miss Tsismae laughed in a sophisticated tone as she returned her sword back to its scabbard.
What was its name again? Vespasusa? Huh, so even Guild members like her can give names to their swords…
The Guild erupted in another wave of rowdiness when they heard the laugh of Miss Tsismae and pestered Malthur regarding the same topic:
"No! Sir Malthur! Give the cute creature to me!!!"
"Bzzzt! False! The ideal keeper of this creature is me!"
"All of you are wrong! It is definitely me!"
"SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU!"
Malthur yelled in a fit of rage when he heard the barrages of pestering on his ear. He gritted his teeth and angrily yelled:
"You think that I will give Bintii to your supervision when you practically chased me around the Guild?! The nerve of all of you!!! I will not allow you to lay a finger to Bintii! Never!"
The collected voices of the Guildsmen, including Miss Tsismae, rang in a sound of disappointment while saying the grunt of "EH?"
"Sorry Chief, I cannot trust your Guildsmen about this. Bintii is a gentle creature that needs to be pampered every second!" Malthur turned to Chief and uttered those words seriously.
Wha- there is no doubt about it. He already formed a bond with the Hainu creature!!!
Hoi, that is the same creature that nearlt killed you! Don't you remember?
"Well, make up your mind then, boy. If you will not decide before the sun sets and you failed to register it to the Infantry branch, that creature will be deported to a faraway land!"
"… No… I cannot have that." Malthur fell in a deep depression when he said those words.
"Besides, we firstly need to identify the specie of this little guy!"
When she heard the words of his father, Fae turned into us and patted Bintii.
"Hmm? But this creature is a Hainu! Don't you see it clearly?" she said while smiling towards the creature that she just unraveled by stating its kind.
Huh? Fae? How do you know these kind of creatures? You are just a kid…
Ah…I forgot.
Even if this little girl is mostly acting in a spoiled manner, I cannot forget the fact that she is incredibly smart.
She is so smart that she is already taking advanced studies for her education… A true talented and gifted little lady.
So even if I find it shocking, it all makes sense.
"Ha? You know it, Fae? What are Hainus?" Chief curiously asked.
Oh no! Is she going to-
"Well, Hainu are known for being-FMMM!"
I swiftly moved in my fast reflexes to prevent Fae in saying anything that will be troublesome in the future.
"Ah! What do you expect? Truly, Fae is a gifted girl. There, there. Let me just explain to Chief what is a Hainu, okay?"
Roy tried to stop me but upon understanding the direness of the situation, he just went with me and took Fae in his custody.
"Big sister! What is wrong with you?! I was about to answer Father in his question!!! HMPH! You make me really mad!" she said in a fit of annoyance.
Uhhhh. Sorry, Fae! I will make it up to you soon!
"Uh, who is this girl?"
While still tending to Bintii, Malthur asked who Fae is even if she was already facing us some moments ago. I guess he was just minding his business while patting Bintii in her head.
However, when she heard her apparent voice, Malthur finally looked at Fae with an interest in his vision.
Hoi. Do not stare at her like that.
"Hm? Ah. This is Fae. My little sister. Here Fae, say hi to Malthur." Roy happily said.
But, due to her shyness, Fae hid in the back of Roy while fidgeting cutely.
I guess she was told that it is dangerous in talking with strangers and that is why, she is acting timidly.
Or in this case, I guess it is because of this git.
Because, right now, Malthur is smiling creepily.
"Hello there, my name is Malthur! I am the son of the Marquess of Silvos and it is a pleasure to meet you!" he said normally while also wearing that shady-looking smile.
"…The pleasure is mine as well. I… know your name, Sir Malthur… My name is Faelene "Crimsca" Arsonstel and I am the daughter of Chief… uuuuu" she said while further pushing her own face at the back of Roy.
"Ah…"
Hoi, do not make sounds like that! She is just a little girl! Why are you being tensed like that?
"Hahaha! Indeed, that is my daughter! A cute one, isn't she? She is my pride and joy and together with Roy, they make my days in the Guild fun and fulfilling!" Chief laughed merrily.
"Father, you are embarrassing me!" Fae fumed cutely.
"AHAHAHA. I am sorry, Fae…"
"Ahhh!"
Hoi. I told you, stop doing that already!
While I was glaring at Malthur, it seemed that Fae warmed up a bit to him due to Bintii, being placed on his arms.
"So uh, mister? Where did you find this Hainu? Creatures like these are extremely rare in the wild, especially in a populated city such as Estocia!" she said with befitting curiosity for her age.
"Oh, her? Bintii here came to me on her own will when I was resting in a village in a particular night. Perhaps she was attracted to me? I cannot say…" he said obnoxiously.
Hoi. Now is not the time to act so smug right now!
I was about to smack him in his head when I had an idea.
"Hey, Malthur. Can I burrow Bintii for a bit?" I said to him normally.
"EH? Can you handle her though? I do not think that she acknowledges you yet…" he said while taunting me with a sneer.
"No matter! Just give her to me!"
"Augh! Fine! Here! But be careful!" he grunted annoyingly.
I gingery took the small body of Bintii and as I suspected, she was just gentle in my cradling. She yawned a bit when she was already in my arms and wagged her tail in the good sensation of my patting to her.
When Bintii was already calm in my arms, I then turned to Fae and said:
"Hey Fae, how about you take care of Bintii here?"
"WHAAAT?!"
Malthur yelled his voice of disapproval when Fae smiled in surprise.
"Really, Tori? I can have her???"
"Hoi!!! Smitha! What are you doing here exactly? Do not think for a second that I will allow you to…!"
"Eh? Is that so, Sir Malthur? I cannot have her? That is rather sad…"
I just realized that idea while watching the two of them converse…
For some reason, Malthur looked like the kind of guy that will say 'no' to Fae.
So I gave it a shot!
Fae looked like she was about to cry upon hearing the disapproval of Malthur and readied herself in an inevitable cry.
"WAH! Do not cry! It is just…"
Malthur looked conflicted right now as he stared at the beet-red face of Fae. To make the matters worse, her father and big brother here leered at him and as someone who loves their cute girl, they do not want to see her crying like that.
"Hey, Fae. Do not cry. Why do you want to take care of this creature?" Chief asked.
"…It is because… she is just too cute! I want to take care of a creature just like her!" she replied innocently.
"I… I am not sure… about this…"
Even further, realizing that he might lost his pet any moment now, Malthur fell in a state of discomfort and worry.
Alright. Time to kick it off a notch!
I went in a far distance to their center and while still carrying Bintii in my arms, I said to them:
"Look, here is an idea… if you two would want to argue about who will be the worthy caretaker of Bintii, I will put her in the ground and if she goes near any of you, we will decide, together with Chief, that that person will be the victor for her supervision!"
"WHOOOO!"
Upon hearing my statement, for some reason, everyone around the Guild let-out a sound of excitement and anticipation.
"Ha? Don't be ridiculous, smitha! Do you think that I will agree to this preposterous game just like that? -"
Roy was trying to express his spirited disapproval when…
"Hm? Are you somehow scared of a little girl like me, Sir Malthur?"
Fae here just jumped in my plan and taunted him openly.
"Bring it on, Kid!"
Wah. He is so easy to motivate!
***
We tidied the place a bit and when the appropriate time came, the hour of selection for Bintii's adoption commenced!
For some reason, Roy was the announcer.
"Alright swordsfolk! Today, we are going to witness the eventful selection of the creature named Bintii to her two probable adopters! In my right, we have the acclaimed son of the Marquess of Silvos! Everyone, give your hands to Malthur Droit Aldendrite!"
Everyone applauded around the Guild and yelled in a varied emotion.
"Yohooo! That is our dear Malthur!"
"YEAH! I love the guts of this guy!"
"Whoooo! How much is your sword in the market?"
Roy continued his surprisingly good announcement:
"Now, here in my left, she is the daughter of the Chief of Estocia and… I will chastise you dearly if you said that she was not cute… ahem! Ladies and gentlemen, my dear sister, Faelene "Crimsca" Arsonstel!"
The crowd around the Guild erupted in an applause once more as they were just threatened by Roy here.
"WHAAA! She is so cute!"
"Whooo! Marry me!"
"Wait… how old is she?"
"Alright folks! Our umpire for this event is none other than our own, Astoria!!! When she puts the cute creature in the ground, the battle begins so cast your bets appropriately!!!"
Wait… bets?
While thinking about what I have just heard, I reluctantly placed Bintii in the floor of the Guild when the 'game' started.
"Aaaanndd! Here we are, folks! Bintii is on her own right now and- oh? What is this? Is she yawning in a cute way since no one is handling her anymore? Awwww! So cute! Ah! No, not that way, little Bintii! Oh? Everyone, it seems that little Bintii here loved the soothing head pats of Tori that she does not want to leave her sight!!! Ah what a development, indeed!"
I had no idea that Roy had a talent for things like this…
Alike to his uh… particular narration, Bintii tried to go in my direction once again, much to the offense of the two combatants.
"NO! Not that way, Bintii! Go to me! To me!!! Your Master Malthur!" Mal-git furiously bellowed.
"No!!! Please, whatever you do, do not go to Malthur! Go to me instead!" in the opposite direction, Fae shouted her own might in order to win.
I once again picked Bintii in order to resume the 'game'. Otherwise, we might reach the evening before even realizing who the winner is.
"Oh? What is this? Everyone, Tori is picking our little creature once again and trying to guide her in her two available paths! Hm-hm. That is an inspiring move for all of the mothers… out there… huh…"
Hoi. What are you even talking about?
"Ho? What is going on here? It seems that Malthur is having his plans in order to take Bintii back by uh… hey, Malthur! Please stop that! It is rather embarrassing! Also, it stinks too!"
I have to agree to Roy, it rather stinks. Why wouldn't it?
Seeing that Bintii is now running in his direction, cementing his fate as his forever caretaker, Malthur plastered a wide grin in his face while he undid his boots and laid his right foot in the floor.
Hey, isn't this cheating?
"WAHAHAHAHA! OF COURSE! Come, Bintii! I know that you cannot resist the temptation of my juicy foot and so, you are running for it! YES! A little closer!!!" Malthur said in an ecstatic tune.
"OH FOLKS! It seems that Malthur will be the victor here, a little more distance before he wins- ah!"
Bintii was so close to the distance of Malthur when she suddenly turned away from him and ran in his opposite direction.
"WHAT? NO!!! Bintii, you traitor!!!" in his realization that he was just betrayed, Malthur cried his yell of agony.
Bintii came rushing in the direction of Fae when she was making a sound by tapping and smacking the floor with the both of her hands.
"Oh my, everyone! It looks like the tables have turned in this particular scenario as Bintii now is rushing on her way at Fae's direction!!! Rejoice to this sudden twist of the events! Let me hear it!"
The whole Guild exploded in a loud collection of shouts and cheers.
"Goodness me, it worked! Haha! I am so overjoyed! Now, a little more, little Bintii! Come here to little-… OH COME ON!!!"
Fae was just about to celebrate when, once again, Bintii turned over in her opposite direction and was enticed by the appeal of Malthur.
Malthur, not saying anything while smiling in a boisterous manner, laid his another foot in the ground, making it… doubled feet.
"AH! Yet another exhilarating twist, my folks! Malthur failed once in his attempt in reaching for Bintii with use of his only one foot and how does he fix it? Another one foot!!! What a genius!!! Is… is this the fabled twin-feet that was prophesized by this game?! If yes, then this is a legendary match, ladies and gentlemen! Regarding this display of the dual feet, you know what they say: "TWO CAN PLAY AT THAT GAME!!!"
HOI, Roy. I think… you are overdoing this too much.
Bintii is extremely close at Malthur's distance… so close that if he could try in grabbing her, he might catch her and finally win the game!
However…
As how big and fast the uncontainable smile that Malthur is ever-so slowly showing, that said smile quickly turned into an earth-shattering scream of hate and despair.
Because, for the last time, Bintii turned away again to his direction and ran swiftly to Fae's direction.
"AH! NO! Bintii turned away in another time! Seriously, this creature is easily swayed by others! But why would she quickly ignore the fabled twin-feet of Malthur…?"
The answer is simple, Roy.
While smiling triumphantly in the face of the broken face of Malthur that was devoid of any emotion other than depression, Fae gloriously flickered and showed a chunk of fried pork rib and showed it to the running Bintii.
Ah, here it is… the climax of the game.
"BINTIIIIIIII!!! COME BACK!!!"
Malthur shrieked so loud that I thought, this might be the first time he yelled in an extremely loud manner ever since I met him.
"Bintiiiii!!! Come!!!"
Fae on the other hand, was ecstatic and excited to pat the head of the Hainu once she reached up to her…
Everyone in the Guild, including me, was dragged in the tension of the moment and shouted our lungs out…
And-!
"VICTORY!!!"
My little sister- Fae, won the adoption for Bintii.
