Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 The Whole Day

Elle's whole day at Phoenix University was fine and interesting. She met new classmates. And she felt all fine because Andrew was with her. Both of them were seatmates in all the subjects. Before sunset came, they waved at Karen. Elle and Andrew drove side by side toward their own residences. Elle had not seen James after their Math class. She thought that maybe he was so busy with his classes or maybe he got night classes. The Freshmen had no evening classes. Their classes ended by five in the afternoon.

While Elle was driving her way home, she received a call from James. She pressed the handsfree button and said, "What's up, James? I'm driving home, just five minutes more to reach home." Elle said. "Drive safely. I'll call you later." James said. "Sure, no problem." She replied, ended the call.

"Hi, Nanny Ann!" Elle said as she saw her by the kitchen room. "Welcome home, Miss Elle! How's your day?" Nanny Ann said, glancing at her. She was cooking a dinner for the Smith family. "It is fine, Nanny. Are they around now?" Elle asked about her Mom and Dad. "Your Mom called that they'll be home late." Her Nanny Ann said. "And why?" Elle asked. "Business meeting, Miss Elle," her nanny replied. "You wanna eat now?" She added. "Yes please, Nanny Ann. I'll just go upstairs and change." Elle replied, smiling. She got out of the kitchen and went to her room. She missed her room as she got inside, put her bag on the white desk, took a quick half bath and changed herself into a pajama set. She closed her door behind and headed off to dining room for a delicious dinner. She was so hungry, ate her favorite dish, a pork stew with cabbage and potatoes, paired it with cold orange juice. She ate alone. Her nanny was inside her room, cleaning it before Elle could sleep. "Miss Elle, you left your phone. Someone's calling," Nanny Ann ran towards the dining room. "Oh Nanny Ann, you should have not ran just because someone is calling. The call can wait." Elle said thoughtfully. "It could be important, Miss Elle," Nanny Ann replied, smiling. Elle stared on her phone, still ringing, it was James. "Not that important, Nanny. But thank you," Elle said, smiling back sweetly. She answered the call after her last drink of juice. "Hey James, what's so important with that long rings?" Elle said, annoyed. "I'm sorry, Elle. I just want to talk to you, a friendly talk," James replied. "Oh I see! I left my phone upstairs and Nanny brought it to me while it's ringing. I just finished my dinner so that's why," Elle explained. "I apologize for the interruption, Elle. Next time I'll text you first if I can call," James said. "Much better, James," Elle answered frankly.
