Rainbow walked back to her dorm, hoping Dimond would be there so that she could talk to her. Everything was going out of control. She took the long way to the dorms, hoping to avoid as many people as possible since classes had finished for the day and after school clubs were starting.
She opened the dorm door and found no-one in there, she frowned. Dimond always took forever to get ready as she was trying to look her best for Barry. She heard something clatter to the floor in the bathroom and hurriedly pushed the door open. Dimond was tying her hair up and a bottle of perfume had fallen to the floor along with several other beauty products that couldn't fit on the already overflowing sink countertop filled with makeups, beauty products, perfumes and soaps. Dimond spun to Rainbow when she bust in, looking an absolute mess. She tied her hair and then came over to her, giving her a 'what happened now?' Sort of expression.
"Gary, I fainted, Barry was angry and the ancestors!" Rainbow blurted out, hardly making any sense in her anxious state. Her mascara had run down her cheeks and dried and her eyes were red and puffy. Dimond placed her hands on Rainbow's shoulders, who was getting even more upset that she couldn't express what was wrong.
"Just breathe," Dimond told her, taking deep breaths with her upset cousin. There was so much that Rainbow wanted to tell her but first she needed to organise her thoughts and calm down. She took deep breaths with Dimond and tried to work out what to tell her first. "Now, what happened?" She asked softly, turning to grab a cloth and dampen it slightly.
"Barry overheard me talking to Gary about something and he knocked me unconscious again and when I woke up Gary was still there and he questioned me about the Aimes's and the ancestors are angry at me and then I got this really bad headache, but it was like coming from the ancestors? I'm not entirely sure, but it got worse when Gary was closer so he…" She rambled, hardly taking a breath in between all her problems. Dimond was trying to rub off the messed up mascara off of Rainbow's face with the damp cloth as she rambled. "He… left… me…" She continued, her voice breaking off as she started to sob again.
Dimond sighed audibly and rubbed Rainbow's cheeks a little harder, making them pink up. "So the ancestors are angry at you?" She asked trying to make sense of what Rainbow had just blurted out. Her little cousin nodded, still sobbing. Dimond put the cloth down on the side and hugged her, she evidently needed one right now. Rainbow clutched her tightly, trying to hold on to anything she could feel safe around. "Have you tried talking to them?" She asked softly.
"Talk to them?" Rainbow asked confusedly, "But they're just voices in my head, how can I talk to them?" She asked, making Dimond sigh again and pull away from Rainbow, who was still trying to hug her, ending up with Dimond pushing her off.
"Sure you can, you have your own voice in your head, besides if you meditate properly then you might be able to visualise them." Dimond explained, making Rainbow's eyes widen in surprise. Her mother had never really told her anything about the voices, she'd just expected her to read the Book of Aimes's, their historical guide that had been past through the the family. Of course, Rainbow was rebellious, so she obviously hadn't read it. There was a similar, but way smaller version for the helper Aimes's, guiding them on how to help the royal Aimes's, which Dimond had been forced to read by her parents. "It's complicated and you'll need to concentrate, but I can help you do it if you want." She continued. Rainbow's eyes sparkled excitedly, she was about to meet the voices that had tormented her all her life.
"Yes! Do it! Do it now!" She insisted, causing Dimond to sigh. She was way too excited for what was about to happen. Aimes's were evil. They were not going to be nice, especially if she was going to confront them like this. She could be so naive. But she didn't really have any other choice. This 'Gary' guy looked like he meant a lot to her…
