Mission completed! For now anyway... Gary thought. He got changed for bed and lay there, reliving the moment. She'd seemed very surprised that he would give her a card. Part of his mind wondered wether she'd ever gotten one before. He always received loads from girls in other counties that he'd never even met. He smiled at the challenge. "Prove it." He muttered to himself. He would prove it alright! He needed a new plan of attack. Suddenly the guys bust out laughing, which made Gary sit up and wonder what they were up to.
"Do Gabrielle!!" Bradley shouted excitedly. Gary glanced over their shoulders and saw them playing around with a stupid app that edited photos to remove the clothes in it. They had just done one of the other boys' crushes. Why were they even playing around with that stupid app anyway? Couldn't they just ask out the girls and find out that way? The guys grinned at the result of the app. That was the reason why she was almost at the top of the to-date list... As far as Gary knew, Rainbow was at the top because she was head girl, followed by a girl called Dimond that he hadn't met yet and then it was this Gabrielle.
"Do Dimond!" Another guy suggested and Barry rolled his eyes and put her under the filter. Gary's eyes widened... She was the girl that Barry had been with on and off this last week. If they'd seen her in real life then why did they need to put the filter on her? Gary now understood why she was at the top of the to-date list, she was much more curvaceous than the previous girls.
"Do Rainbow!" Some other guy shouted. The other guys laughed as Barry tried to find a picture of Rainbow on his phone. Gary grit his teeth, suddenly feeling like he shouldn't let them put the filter on her. He clenched his fists in an effort to calm down. They weren't even friends yet.
"What are you hoping to see?" One of the others jabbed and the others laughed. "She's basically a pancake!" He joked again. Gary grit his teeth, how could they talk about her like that? He thought. Barry didn't say anything, still scanning his phone for a picture.
"Sorry guys... I don't have a picture of her." Barry informed glumly. For someone who claimed to be Rainbow's boyfriend, he sure didn't act like it. The guys groaned and Barry texted someone. "I asked Dimond to get a pic!" He explained grinning mischievously. They boys cheered excitedly and while they waited they demoralised more girls. Gary frowned, this was a stupid app. He didn't understand the appeal. "Hey Sheffield! Don't look so glum! I just got a picture of RB!" Barry exclaimed, causing Gary to frown further. Barry showed the guys the picture Dimond had taken for Barry. Rainbow was lying on her stomach on the bed with her legs in the air. It was a really cute photo... Gary thought. She looked so happy... Barry was already loading the picture into the app and Gary didn't know what to do. At least she was lying on her stomach, he thought...
The picture loaded and the guys all started laughing at how much the filter had changed the photo. It had made her deserve to be the top to-date girl. Gary had to admit, with the filter she did look pretty good. Then Barry started sending the photo to people. Gary opened his mouth to stop him but then stopped himself and closed it again. Barry smirked at Gary.
"Want It Sheffield?" He taunted, having noticed his interest peaking whenever her name was mentioned. Gary tried to splutter an answer but he couldn't get a straight sentence out and pinked as the guys stared at him. He was so embarrassed. Why had he even decided to keep watching anyway? Barry sent him the picture to his new school email, he copied everyone in their year into it appart from Rainbow.
"Shouldn't you send it to Rainbow too?" Gary asked curiously. Why was she the one left out when it was a picture of her? Barry laughed.
"Trust me Sheffield, it'll be more entertaining this way." He stated, not giving Gary anymore information than that.
Gary had a bad feeling in his stomach... This was going to hurt his friendship with her. He was sure of it.
