"Everson, you're awake!!" Mr. Beal shouted. As I sat up the two came closer. " Sir, I'm glad to see you here." I smiled. "How long was I out?" "About a week" Malcolm said. " A week?!" I shouted. Malcolm turned to Mr. Beal. "I need to run some tests, it's time for you to leave." He said with a stern voice. "I hope to see you at work soon, Everson." He said before leaving.
"I'm Doctor Malcolm. I've been waiting to meet you." "Hi! I hope I wasn't a burden to take care of.. I know I can be a handful even when I'm asleep." I exclaimed. "Nonsense. It's my job and it was my pleasure. But we're not done just yet. I will be right back. I need to grab a few things"
"Of course." I said as I smiled. I always tried to be nice and polite. Staying positive was something I always tried to do. However, it wasn't always easy.
Once he left the room, I took a moment to look around. It was a bit cold and kinda dull. I got up and looked out the window. For some reason my feet felt like they were burning but my hands were so cold. I got to the window and it was so peaceful. I watched the cars drive by as the water droplets of the rain slithered down the glass. I put my hand up to it to see what it would feel like. It was cold like ice.
I closed my eyes as I hummed a little tune. "My hand is freezing." I thought to myself. As I continued to hum I felt the glass get warmer. My mind felt free and relaxed. It was as if I was in clouds. I opened my eyes and all of the glass was gone except for the part where my hand was on. The rest of it was floating in the air with the shape of crystals. They were tiny and sharp. I was shocked. I didn't know what to do.
I stepped backwards in confusion and fear. It seemed like everything was in slow motion. The glass started to fall as I blinked. The room was filled with the sounds of the storm as it got stronger. " What is happening?!" I thought to myself. "I have to get out of here!" I rushed to the door but something stopped me dead on my tracks. It's what looked like a black hole or a portal.
It was beautiful but terrifying.
It had black and dark blue swirls. It was glowing too. It felt like it was calling my name, only I couldn't hear it. Slowly I reached my hand towards it. I stuck my hand inside and it was burning like fire. Everything was going from hot to cold.
For a moment everything went dark. Then it stopped. I could see the dull room. Everything seemed normal. Like if it didn't happen at all. But I looked towards the window and it was still broken. I hesitated at first but then I came closer to it. I bent down and looked at the glass. They we're still shaped like crystals. All the pieces looked the same. So I picked a piece up and put it in the center of the empty window. I focused on it for a bit as I closed my eyes. "Please work, please work, please work.." I said. I opened my eyes and watched as my veins started to glow. It felt like my blood was pumping faster then ever. My eyes began to glow green. Finally it burned again. I felt the pain like shivers down my spine. It hurt worse then getting your heart ripped out of your chest.
"AAHHHHH!!" I shouted as I tried to let go of the glass. I squeezed it in my hand to the point where it made me bleed. But I couldn't stop. It was like a nightmare where you can't wake up.
Then all of a sudden doctor Malcolm rushed in with a needle. He stuck it in my neck and injected me with more chemicals. I started to see things in a blur as I slowly fell to the ground in his arms. Again I was asleep.. "It's okay. This was just your first step. I'm with you Kai. I'm with you..." Malcolm said in a calm voice...
