Chapter 42 - (Chapter 42) People In The Darkness 11

Carol completed every scene flawlessly, always keeping a glance for Stella who looked so dangerous leaning against the wall.

She was conflicted, sometimes the small assistant next to him would take his attention away. While other's he just watched her... And only her, his eyes didn't break the line of sight with her at all.

Carol bowed to the director. "Thank you for having me." She gave her thanks.

"Haha, no need to say anything. I wanted an expert dancer and that was what I got! Make sure to use the advantage you now have." Director Song slyly commented.

Carol understood and took another glance at Zhou. He gave off a carefree aura that invited people to talk to him. He would give lukewarm responses to everyone, it was driving Carol mad seeing women crowd him like that!

"I understand." Carol gave a committed reply, 'even the director is rooting for me. There is nothing I can't do." Her eyes gave off fierce determination as she turned to walk toward Zhou.

"Master Zhou, are you free later?" Carol suddenly asked, earning complete silence in the studio.

'Carol... Is asking Zhou for a date!? What huge news!'

Stella looked at Carol's earnest face... She spotted the look of greed and desire in her eyes.

Di inwardly scoffed. 'Heh, you think my Miss would even look in your direction in normal circumstances? She is so revolted by your touch that her palm is covered in blood!'

Stella gave a warm smile. "How does dinner at 7pm sound?" Stella casually asked.

Carol was speechless, she was expecting to be rejected at first. 'Do I have a chance?' She wondered as her eyes lit up with excitement.

*Sigh* 'She is an open book. Indeed this is too boring." Even Di could see her emotions, it was written in bold colors against the pitch back sky. It couldn't be missed.

"I'll have my assistant contact you with the details. It's 5pm now, go and get yourself ready first." Stella pushed all the work on to Di.

Carol felt anger burst into her heart. 'That assistant again!' Why would a man like Zhou have such a slut next to him? Look at how she dressed. She was provocative, not good enough for Zhou!

Carol ignored the fact she never knew Di until today and had zero proof of what she claimed she was. Women would become jealous if they saw someone superior next to the person they had fallen in love with... And Carol wasn't immune.

"I will message you later then." Di swiftly responded with some apprehension in her voice.

Carol gritted her teeth as Di made herself sound so pitiful! Even if she was told to die she should follow Master Zhou's orders!

Stella nodded. "I will see you later milady." Stella gave a smile and nod. She walked away with Di following behind.

Carol burned a hole into Di's back. 'That is my position! Only I'm good enough to stand side-by-side with him!

Little did she notice how unbelievably conceited she had become in such a short amount of time.

.........

Stella looked down at her hands with a dark expression. She watched the water wash away the blood without a single painful expression.

She made sure to completely cleanse her hand. Using so much soap on her cut hand it would make a normal person cry from how bad it felt, but Stella felt it was necessary. Her hands were dirty...

Stella stopped rubbing her hands. She was pleased at how she finally had them cleaned. She looked up to her mirror and looked at her face.

There were no other words to describe Stella but a woman that could cause downfalls of countries. But... That face which was favored was the gods was slightly pale...

Stella gave an ironic smile in the mirror. 'After everything, you still could not succeed.' She couldn't help but feel smug.

Stella calmed herself down and prepared to leave her shower. preparing for dinner with Carol...

"Miss, here is a written report." Di announced as she placed large stacks of paper on the side next to Stella.

Stella took the paper, then took some glances at what was written. After a minute she put them down and stood up.

"Do what was planned. Allow those turtles to do as they wish." Stella gave two separate orders, Di lowered her head and prepared to write some orders.

"I'll be leaving for a short while. Make sure to relay the message." Stella strode out of the apartment. Leaving Di to sigh and do her actual job.

.........

Stella sat at a lavish restaurant with a nonchalant expression. Like this dinner meant nothing to her.

The door to her private room opened slightly. "The young lady has arrived." The waiter politely announced.

"Escort her here." Stella disinterestedly ordered as she swiveled the wine in her glass.

After a few minuted the scent of female perfume wafted into Stella's nose, causing her eyes to immediately darken.

"Master Zhou, I want to thank you for this invitation." Carol gave a curtsy as Stella watched her walk to her chair.

Stella abruptly stood up, walked to her chair and pulled it out for Carol. "It's my honor." She smiled with pleasure.

Carol stiffened. 'This man... Could he get better?' Carol sat down and allowed Stella to push her in, she didn't even feel the chair move but she was perfectly sat to the table.

Stella took her seat and handed over the menu to Carol. "Order what you like." Stella gave a comforting smile.

Carol's ears went red as she nodded. She new this restaurant was one of the highest class establishments in the city. Also, that Zhou had private access to one of the rooms! Her heart was beating frantically as she thought of all the possibilities.

Carol ordered a range of expensive delicacies. She blushed when she looked at the prices and went to change her mind... She didn't want to appear rude.

"That's no problem, if that is what Carol wishes for then it will be served." Stella brushed away the idea and then ordered a dish for herself.

Stella only ordered something small. While Carol should have noticed something was strange she was too blinded by her feelings that she just didn't notice.

The two enjoyed a pleasant dinner. The atmosphere was warm and sociable. They talked about various things ranging from acting, dancing, singing, business, clothing. Carol could mention anything and Stella could reply with more conversation. It seemed to be too good to be true...
