As the laughter and chatter continued, Shen Qinglan's phone screen lit up.
Seeing the caller ID, Shen Qinglan's expression paused. She gracefully pushed herself off the bed rail and landed lightly on the floor, a sight her dorm mates were used to by now.
She took the phone and headed straight to the balcony, closing the balcony door behind her.
"Hello," her clear voice traveled through the call to Fu Hengyi.
"Are you asleep?" Fu Hengyi asked.
Shen Qinglan glanced back at the two people making a ruckus in the dorm room, shook her head, and then remembered the person on the other end couldn't see her.
"Not yet."
Hearing the faint noise through the earpiece, Fu Hengyi guessed, "You're at school?"
"Yeah."
"Why not stay at home? Is it uncomfortable at home?"
