Chapter 1 - Chapter 001: Getting Married...

Chi Huan had adored Mou Xigu, which everyone knew, from the age of seventeen to twenty.

Finally, last month, as the Chi Family's cherished daughter, she set a wedding date with Mou Group's young master, Mou Xigu.

Tonight, Chi Huan made a major decision, spent a lot of money, and decided—

to turn the raw rice into cooked rice, to win him over in bed.

Wenhai Hotel, constructed under the sea, was an ultimate romantic presidential suite that exuded luxury and expense.

As soon as Mou Xigu entered, a woman's figure rushed into his arms.

The man caught her, but his brows furrowed, and he reprimanded in a low voice, "Chi Huan, what are you doing?"

She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaned in for a kiss, and cooed, "Xigu…"

Mou Xigu turned his head, avoiding her red lips, and the kiss landed on his cheek.

He wanted to push her away from his embrace but found her arms wrapped even tighter around him.

"Xigu, I feel so awful… Help me."

Mou Xigu, feeling her burning temperature and noticing the abnormal flush on her petite face, which made her originally innocent features intertwine into a different kind of allure, swallowed hard and asked with a frown, "Have you been drugged?"

Chi Huan stood on tiptoes, attempting to kiss him.

Mou Xigu's expression changed; he grabbed her soft little hand, with a terrible look on his face, he scolded, "Chi Huan, stop this nonsense!"

The girl, her face brimming with enticing allure, said aggrievedly, "Aren't we going to get married… Why is this not okay?"

Getting married…

Mou Xigu's eyes grew deeper. Indeed, in a little while, he was to marry this woman.

Since he had promised his family to marry her, this was but an inevitable affair.

Chi Huan sensed his hesitation and resolve wavering and dealt another strong blow, "If we don't test the waters before marriage, how will I know if you're capable? What if you turn out to be impotent, wouldn't I be at a great loss?"

No man could stand such provocation and stimulation.

Mou Xigu looked at her red lips, moving closer and about to kiss her fiercely.

Their lips were but a paper's distance apart when the abrupt vibration of a phone rang out.

The ringtone wasn't loud, but in the tranquil and romantic suite where only their breaths were audible, it sounded particularly grating.

A sense of unease welled up in Chi Huan's heart, and as the drugs surged through her, she clutched his sleeve with her pale fingers, her voice soft and pleading, "Xigu, don't answer it… I feel so bad."

Mou Xigu sobered up a bit, gazed at her while the relentless vibration of his phone continued, and hesitated.

"Xigu…"

In the end, he still took out his phone, and flashing on the screen were two characters, Yabing.

Chi Huan reached out to snatch his phone away, "Don't answer it."

Having liked Mou Xigu for several years, how could she not know who this woman was.

Su Yabing, Xigu's ex-girlfriend, was separated from him three years ago by the Mou Family who disapproved of her background. She quickly married a local businessman after going abroad.

But just after her wedding date with Xigu was set, she returned to the country…

Mou Xigu glanced at her, slid his finger, and still answered the call, calling out in a low voice, "Yabing…"

"Xigu, save me… Please come and save me, he's going to kill me, he said he's going to beat me to death… Xigu, save me."

The man's face changed drastically, "Where are you, I'll be right there."

Chi Huan bit her lip, her body clearly burning with heat, yet she didn't know why it suddenly felt cool.

In a daze, she didn't catch what Su Yabing had said on the phone before Mou Xigu hung up, calmly leaving behind the words, "Chi Huan, I am leaving."

She panicked, truly panicked, not only because he was leaving for another woman but because of the drugs in her system.

If he left, what would she do?

Chi Huan tightly grasped his arm, "No, you can't go, what will I do if you leave?"

The man calmly said, "Call an ambulance or have your bodyguard take you to the hospital."

Her eyes red, she said, "Mou Xigu, I've taken drugs, will you leave me for another woman? I am the one you are supposed to marry!"

He hesitated, but still shook off her hand, "Yabing's husband has a severe tendency towards violence, she might be killed if I don't go."

"Why doesn't she call the police?"

Mou Xigu glanced at her, still peeled her hands off completely, and left without looking back.

She heard the sound of the door closing, and then she was left alone in the vast suite.

The heat in her body spread more violently, emptying her almost to the point of disembodiment.

It's so uncomfortable...

She could no longer tell if it was her heart that was troubled or her body.

Chi Huan turned and nearly stumbled back to the coffee table; due to her weakness, she almost fell onto the carpet.

She rummaged her phone out of her bag, tears splashing on the screen; she quickly found a number and dialed it.

The call connected almost instantly after one ring.

A cool-toned, deep and stable male voice said, "Miss."

"You... come over quickly, to the room I've booked."

After a second's pause, the other side quickly replied with an affirmative and the call was disconnected.

Mo Shiqian.

Her personal bodyguard, specially hired by her mayor father at a high salary to stick close to her side.

Probably the man in the world she hated yet trusted the most.

She hated him because his personality was cold and rigid, inflexible.

She trusted him because he was omnipresent, capable of anything.

In less than three minutes, a tall man, 1.87 meters in height with a lean and straight figure, entered through the door. He was dressed in a simple black outfit, exuding a quiet and reserved temperament that also felt distant.

He approached the girl curled up on the ground, squatting down in front of her, his handsome brows furrowed, "Miss, where is Mr. Mou?"

Chi Huan didn't hear a word he was saying.

All she knew was that a man was approaching her, and his cool and intense masculine scent tantalized all her nerves. Following that enticing smell, she crawled up.

As Mo Shiqian was about to check on her, the girl's fragrance filled the air, and the next second, her soft and burning body threw itself into his embrace.

He hadn't anticipated this turn of events, freezing in place as his muscles tensed instantaneously.

And in that split-second of shock, Chi Huan's lips landed on his.

Chi Huan's senses were almost entirely under the control of the drug. One pill was supposed to be enough, but she was psychologically averse to such matters and had taken two instead, resulting in the drug's effects surging violently now.

Moreover, there was a scent to this man that she found agreeable—a clean, crisp yet unmistakably masculine fragrance.
