Chapter 13 - Category Five hurricane Heroine has touched down.

Forbearance in his grip which held tightly to the satchel. Glaring coldly, Krad's muscles pulsed with magic while he slung the satchel into the air. Hiding the sun behind pink frills, the satchel soared into the sky at an odd angle.

Not missing a beat, the bengal tigers growled. Some pounced on Krad, while the female lunged up at the satchel. Her powerful legs had no problem propelling that massive body. Still her size caused air resistance, as her jaw opened wide.

Disappearing from sight, catching the pack off guard, Krad leapt into the air.

Colliding into one another they fell. Tumbling down the red tiles, their fur catching between the slick clay caused whimpers and disgruntled growls.

"Filthy human!" Curses rang from guttural snarls, raising into the air in anger.

Feeling the urgency, the female tiger sped up her rise, evolping her body in raging wind magic.

Just inches away from the satchel, the female tiger's irritation is sparked once more. Yet again Krad used her head as leverage.

Turning in mid air, he diminished the light with his shadow magic, shooting out from his sword with great speed. Alarm pierced the pack's minds at the sight. They didn't dare let that magic touch them. Those in the front weren't so lucky as they were hit right away!

Confusion wrapped their minds as the gloomy energy didn't do much of anything to them. Swirling around the pack like smoke to a fire, yet seemingly harmless.

"Shameless human!" Discontent growls shot towards Krad. With a smirk he fell to the sprawling fences as he set off in a sprint.

Instinctually following after, leaving none behind, the bengal tigers chased as their eyes burned with rage. Tails flicking irritably, snarling bites towards each other. They ripped apart the poor redwood fence with those pointed claws, forcing it to contort and wane.

Miles passed by within minutes. Clicking of nails on cobblestone streets turned rough. Digging into clay and dirt slowed down the pack but not enough to lose their prey.

Finally the chase came to an end. Cornered in a blind alley, past the light and into the darkness of the city. Krad was once again surrounded.

"How persistent." Krad clanked his sword upon the ground once he turned.

"Understandable. With this in hand, come rain or shine, you'd chase till the ends of hell itself, I bet." Sliding his hand into the satchel, Krad wrapped his fingers around what was inside and pulled it out.

Whimpers of a small animal filled the alley as a baby bengal tiger was revealed. Prompted to action, spurred on by those cries, the pack of tigers roared as they leaped all at once.

Taking a step back, Krad swallowed hard as he glanced back with gritted teeth. Hand stabilizing his sword, his irises dilated with bloodlust, shrinking threateningly.

As their claws and fangs were a feet away from the man who held their cub, abruptly they fell to the ground. Painfully hard, they slammed their jaws shut upon the cold clay and dirt.

Krad furrowed his brows, stabbing the unforgiving streets with his partner. Shadow magic despondently swirls around the sword. Gloom filled the blade, staining the metal black.

What little light there was fell at the hands of that murky shadow. Darkness seeped from the bengal tigers, binding them in chains which locked around Krad's hilt and guard.

"Milady." Krad called out, his voice level but tinged with his heavy heart.

"Stop with your worry." Coming out from behind Krad, Alicia stepped out of thin air, her face calm and placid. "I'm not that fragile."

Stumbling behind, locked in place by Alicia's strong grip, Libbyie dazed toward Alicia's side as they stopped near Krad. Shock at the whole predicament numbed the amazement from her first experience of shadow magic.

f course the chains of shadowy gloom restraining the bengal tigers were interesting. New though? Not so much. This trick of restraint could be used by earth mages as well. Her own brother was quite proud of his control, forming nearly anything out of earth and stone.

Amazement wrapped around another shadow skill. Hiding oneself inside the shadows? Obviously still present, yet not for those around? Intrigued at how her body, even to her own eyes was transparently gray. And how she moved along without her will.

As much as her childish mind had found such interest in this topic, as a young mind often does, it shifted to another form of interest. Alicia. The girl in front of her who, despite frailty greater than her own, had restrained those giant beasts with a flick of her wrist.

She had no idea which magic could do such a thing. It was mystical, breathtaking. Why would she not open her mouth and ask, pressing Alicia for answers when her nature would normally do so? Alicia's eyes looked just like the beasts when she looked at her. Therefore, her body tensed up, not allowing any words to be spoken.

Krad studied his lady's face, attempting to see through any lies, looking for the truth. Unfortunately, his lady's a tough nut to crack. If she did not want you to see it, you'd never know. If she wanted you to see it, she'd smack you in the face with a sign for all to see as she walked off, smiling ear to ear.

"Really. How did you manage to lose a cub, and to such a little pest at that?" Alicia shrugged lazily, grabbing the tiger cub by the scruff.

"Here I thought Nomad Tigers were smarter. Has the city air stifled your senses?" Alicia ignored the pack's heated glares as she continued her rant. Normally she'd have kept quiet and moved on, but her irritation needed a vent. Sadly the tigers had taken up that role.

"Ah, even if that's the case, how could you allow such domestication? You shame your wild side, maring the true nature of a beast."

Wagging her finger left and right with a tsk tsk, a sluggish curve lifted her lips as she ignored their growls. "Isn't that right, Ash?"

Libbyie shrieked, clinging tightly to Alicia's arm in fright. Coming out of Alicia's own shadow, the tallest wolf she'd ever seen, smoothly padded to the front. Wrapping his tail around Alicia, Ash snorted derisively.

Instantly the alley went quiet.

Claws sunk into the clay, rasping harshly against the deafened quiet. Ash paid no mind to the house cats laying upon the ground, but focused fiercely at the kitten staining his mother's hand.

Cowering from the growls, those sharp teeth, Libbyie was terrified of Ash. Handling such a huge creature with ease, she became even more interested in Alicia. Her eyes shined brightly.

"No Ash, I don't care if you're hungry. This is not your food." Alicia grumbled with a glare.

Confusion swam in Libbyie's eyes, what was Ally talking about? She who couldn't understand animal tongue was at a complete loss.

This satisfied Alicia. If Mother Marry over here heard Ash's words of wishing to eat the cub, how troublesome would that be? She did not want to be hit by that storm of nonsense.

"Mother you're not keeping it. I'll eat if you do!" Ash was not having it. He'd already had one cat and a dragon to deal with, he did not want another. He did not want to share anymore!

Libbyie shrieked once more, hurting Alicia's ears in the process. Those house cats did not seem to like Ash's words as they growled and snarled.

"Rgrawl!" Ash snapped at the house cats snarling at his mother. Preparing to leap and swallow a few, his fur shined eerily. Alicia stopped his tantrum with a peck to his nose.

"I had no such idea, calm yourselves." Her words weren't just meant for Ash but the Nomad pack as well.

Leisurely turning her head, Alicia tossed the cub out to the pack. "Next time you cause trouble, do it far, far away from me."

"Ah!" Startled, Libbyie let go of Alicia, rushing off and jumping towards the thrown cub.

"Dammit!" Alicia grumbled as she quickly caught the nuisance by the waist. "Are you stupid or what?" Of course she's stupid, what else would she expect from her?

"How could you be so rough with the baby? How could you be so cruel?" Libbyie's eyes filled with tears. She couldn't believe her new friend could do such a thing.

Dear god, miss category five hurricane Heroine, stop blowing your rubbish mother marry act on this poor side character. Your touch down into my life is already bad enough, alright?

"Yes I'm cruel, so what?" Coldly she spoke down to the idiot. "But so are you."

Before Libbyie could retort, Alicia shot her down with her next words. "Kidnapping a child from its family. I hadn't thought you'd be capable of such a thing."

She was not joking, Mother Marries' weren't usually the type to mess up so badly. Somewhat pleasantly surprised, Alicia smiled. Yet that smile turned strange very quickly.

"Wasn't the baby kidnapped by the big bad kitty?" Libbyie mumbled out in shocked innocence.

"Huh?" Not only was Alicia dumbfounded by the words, both Ash and Krad were as well. Even the Nomad tigers were baffled into shock.

Truly, Alicia looked up into the sky. You cannot underestimate the Mother Marry.
