The café is where I would spend most of my time during the summer and end of school. The Café was a nice place for friends to get together and play games, have coffee, study. I liked going there to bird watch. (A slang term to go and watch pretty girls used in the Navy) I never really payed attention to anyone other than the owners daughter, Kendrianna. She was absolutely stunning, with long silky brown hair, cute half grown out bangs, and she made the best peppermint latès in Banff. She is originally from Thunder Bay, and lived with her mother, step father, older brother, and two sisters for her whole life.
She was so nice and had an amazing personality. Her and I are really good friends. We always talked in the summer, because things got boring in Banff. I couldn't wait to see her. I walk the side walks in Banff trying to remember where the café is. As I walk I could see the small sign that read, 'Whitebark Cafe'. I smiled and walked to the sign. Pushing open the door I saw the place was pretty empty. I took a seat near the counter, as I usually did in the summer. One young man walks out from the back and goes to the table on the other side of the room. I stand and stretch, walking to the counter. "Jason?!" A happy voice said. I smile and looked up, locking eyes with Kendrianna. There she was. Absolutely gorgeous.
"That's me," I say taking a bow and smileing. "Oh my gosh I missed you so much!" She squealed, as he she ran and hugged me. Her hair had gotten so long. But she was still the same height as always. A 5.3" short girl. I wanted to ask her to be my girlfriend last year, but remembered she was in a relationship with Marcum, the school athlete captain for all the teams. I let her go from our hug and smile down at her. "You sure did get tall Jasie! You were like this tall last time we talked," She held her hand about 4 " above her head. I chuckled,"boys grow faster than girls Kenny." I said. I love how we still use our nicknames we gave eachother in 1st grade.
She smiled and unlaced her apron and folded it up nicely on the counter. "I'm done my shift Edgar! I'm leaving with Jason, you know, the Wake kid from the Manor?" Kendrianna spoke to the other waiter on the other side of the room. Edgar turned to me and smiled. "Take care of her now, don't want her hurt." I nodded and followed Kenny outside.
