The next day we were back in the dungeon. The sweltering heat was already making me irritable.
We had decided to train in this area for levels since it seemed to be a lot of experience.
The image of a silver haired wolf girl, a black haired girl in a dress and a blonde teen in just pants and shoes tearing monsters apart could be seen by anyone passing by.
My motto for the day was smash everything.
The landscape at this point was hot air vents, random magma flows, dead plants, charred black earth and fires everywhere.
It was just a fire monster paradise.
I had spent some money on new magic books and some weapons to try things out.
I finally caved and bought basic and intermediate magic books for space magic. 1 mil for basic and 3 mil for intermediate.
There weren't that many spells. There was a spell for spatial slash, a spell for like a spatial bullet, a separate space spell kind of like an inventory. Then for intermediate there was an increased magical inventory, a spell called blink that quick teleports you 5 meters in any direction and a spell called void shift you can hide in the void but you can't move.
I'll start practicing them later.
Right now I was just practicing other magic spells on fire elementals with Silvia showing me ice magic. I'd spent most of my time on wind, wood, and necromancy.
My favorite is making things slip then just pummeling them to death with my chain or firing ice spikes.
The theory about different weapons working for different classes was spot on. I got a berserker class for using a giant battle axe, the reaper class for using a scythe, the thief class for using daggers.
The monsters in this area sometimes rarely dropped fire crystals. These were different from fire crystals from my world as they could apparently be ground down and added to metals to add fire element to weapons when forged or affixed to staves to help fire spells.
I didn't want fire element for my chain, it was useless to Silvia, and Sasha used darkness.
However they were highly sought after by fire mages. I also think they could be added to either certain potions to make flameable liquids or maybe some kind of explosives.
My hopes for some kind of fire resistance potion were all for nothing. The only plants that were alive here were thorny brambles. There weren't any other noticeable drops I could use for potions either so I figured this was just a shitty area.
We had made it to the halfway mark I believe cause it was just a massive volcano spewing out sparks and rocks with lava flows everywhere. I was also the only one suffering I think Silvia with her ice element just naturally kept her body cool and I have no idea what was up with Sasha. It was a cake walk for them. My skin was just burned and red and I had to have a wet shirt wrapped around my head so I could get some cool air that wouldn't burn my lungs. The ash and smoke in the air were no help.
I tried to circulate air around me with wind magic and ice magic but it had the effect of making steam or blowing up ashy dust into my face.
I would have to constantly go into the internal world to get my body temp under control and hydrate.
I was not having fun.
There were surprise attacks from monsters. Random sparks of flames and rocks exploding causing burns on my body and clothes.
The monsters near the volcano seemed to be mostly elementals. Lava golems, Fire elementals, Lava slimes, just things that made everything so much hotter.
I wondered if there was just a spell strong enough to just blast this whole zone into the ice age.
We avoided the volcano cause knowing my luck there would be some massive flame dragon or lava golem sleeping in there and would magically wake up and just shit all over my life.
Dunno why they never talk about this shit in stories it's all happy adventures with eating food and making friends. They don't talk about the blisters on your feet, The sweaty uncomfortable walks in between monster fights for minutes or hours. It's just action action action. Not gunna lie I bet out of 100 people transmigrated or reincarnated most of them would either not know how to function or probably just live a regular life as a commoner or something.
I bet there would be some idiots who just think they are blessed individuals and this is just a fun adventure and they won't ever run into any real trouble or problems. That's wrong.
But enough about that.
Making our way towards floor 40 the temperature started to slowly decreased but the area was more rocky and cave like.
I was just thankful it wasn't a fucking water level. The fire level took us 4 days to traverse. We had to make sure we didn't step into some lava that had been cooled on the top. the smoke and ash caused problems with breathing and visibility and not to mention to avoid heat stroke and dehydration I had to take constant breaks.
I don't know why I don't have like some kind of elemental resistance like Silvia. I wonder if it's because I use all elements and it just evens out or what or is it some kind of bloodline thing or some other thing I don't know about.
After this shitty zone I for sure will be taking a break out of the dungeon for a little while. Too damn stressful.
Reaching floor 40 I took the light orb right out of the dungeon. Fuck that place. I'm gunna go eat ice cream and nap.
