There's another flash of light and a beautiful woman wearing a white dress with long red hair standing in front of me.
The king and attendants in the room instantly bow.
A musical voice resounds through the room.
"You are not one of the heroes I chose. Who are you?" She asks curiously.
"I'm just a tag along who came to help out and get out of desk work. I was pretty bored looking up stuff." I say with a smile.
This explanation makes her even more curious.
"How were you able to come here if I didn't summon you?" She asks me.
I stick my tongue out before pinching her nose.
"Now that would ruin all the fun and surprises wouldn't it miss goddess?" I say before walking out.
Her voice behind me quickly asks "Where are you going?"
"Lunch. I skipped my lunch earlier so I'm hungry." I call out.
There's another flash of light and she is in front of me again.
"You know it's rude to walk away when a lady is speaking correct?" She says with a slight smile.
"Didn't you just kidnap an entire group of high schoolers?" I say with a laugh.
"True." She leans forward and plants a kiss right on my lips.
[Goddess Tia has given you her blessing.]
"I'll be watching you handsome." she says before disappearing in a flash.
How fun. I make my way over to a gobsmacked attendant who has a bunch of packs near him.
"I believe I'm supposed to be given a starter pack or something?" I ask as he nods quickly passing me over a backpack and a pouch of coins.
I leave the castle under the shocked gazes of everyone.
Making my way into the amazing looking city I find myself a nice looking restaurant. I get a couple looks for my clothes but nothing serious.
I blend right in with my Sandy blonde hair. There is a lack of black haired people though so those are probably the hero's that they would recognize.
I sit down at a table and look over the food. I order myself a nice plate of fried rice, some glazed chicken in tangy honey sauce and garlic and I get some soy sauce to drizzle on top yum.
While I eat I browse through my gift bag from the kingdom. There's a metal plate that once I touch displays my name and jobs. Some nice looking clothes. 100 gold. A fancy looking dagger. And just some basic gear.
Pretty skimpy to pay for a kidnapping and you want these people to work hard for 100 gold? A joke.
I bet there's probably at least 3 idiots in there with no desire to go back or who don't even care. Odds are there is probably an evil 1 or 2 aswell.
The man whore is probably evil by now. I should probably find a way to put him down before he gathers an army of desperate house wives or something.
I finish my lunch and notice two armored men waiting patiently for me.
"Sir hero we were asked by the king to bring you back to the castle when your done with your lunch. We will be providing free lodging and training along with food. You are free to come and go as you please aswell." the soldier says before paying for my meal for me.
"Sure." I say finishing my juice and wiping my hands on my jeans like a man.
On the way back to the castle I spot the man whore with a sinister look carrying his starter pack and walking down the castle steps.
I catch some of his mumbling as I walk by. "They'll regret ever mocking me. I'll make them pay especially that slut goddess." he says madly.
I stop right then and there and turn on my heel walking up behind him grabbing him by the chin and head and with a powerful upward twist. *Crack* Break his neck.
The guards look at me in shock.
"You guys shouldn't let problems like him fester it will 100% come back to bite you in the ass later on." I say pocketing his starter pack and storing his body in my grimoire.
We continue on into the castle with me whispering a nice tune.
What? We kill problems when we see problems. 100% he would have somehow teamed up with demons or something and tried to fuck us later on.
Plus free 100 gold. Bonus if I ever saw one.
We make it back to the throne room the others are already gone I figure that they are in their room.
one of the guards walks up and whispers something to the king who nods.
"The rest of the heroes have been shown to their rooms. Tomorrow you will be taken to the treasury and pick out a weapon that suits you." he says to me with a smile.
"Alright." a maid walks in and starts to show me towards me room.
It's a nice clean looking room decent sized bed with fresh blankets and a nice view of the kingdom from the window.
There's an empty wardrobe I can put my clothes in. A bathroom with a real toilet and a big bathtub. Not a fan of baths I'm more of a shower man myself.
a few minutes later the maid comes back bringing a few items I had requested. A map, a book on basic magical knowledge, some lore about the demons and heroes, information on the Goddess Tia.
You always need to gather information when you go to a new world, never ever take someone else's word at face value. I've read way too much about evil churces, good demons, corrupt gods, all the good and the bad so make sure you don't get tricked and fight for the wrong team like some idiot heroes who just do what ever someone else says. Tomorrow I'll be stealthily visiting bars and restaurants to gather information from the common folks.
